Coyotes are a horrible problem to have. We had a dog lured out over a hill in our pasture and there was a pack on the other side. Luckily he escaped them but not without a few wounds. We were able to take care of a couple of them and scared the rest off. I hope you are able to take care of them too before they hurt any of your animals. Have a great day!

We had coyotes pretty bad for a while also and they took down a baby calf. We had 4 dogs that ran our land, but we also put 2 donkeys out after that and never had another attack. We'd also shoot the gun when we heard them running near by in the evenings with that awful yapping sound they make. Hope you can get them under control.

I ask cause i like to go hiking deep into the woods, and a few times before when i’ve stopped to sit down for a bit and take a break i’ve realized i’ve actually been trailed and watched by a pack of Coyotes, at first i didnt think much of it but then it came to me that there’s deer around so i’m pretty much this pack can take a deer down and perhaps it’s occurred to them that i look tasty and could possibly take me down but not sure if they actually would do that or i am just thinking too much 🙈
@@CallmeBotakaOrc There are videos online of people being chased and bitten by coyotes. They got real bad in a Frisco, TX neighborhood at one point and had to be culled.
For a big boy, Mojo can move really fast when he wants to! Liski lopes along like a quarter horse, and Ms Cora is growing by leaps and bounds!! Great dogs!!

@@Thakid510 Each of them are bred to guard & defend their charges. Mojo is a Great Pyrenees. Leeske is an Anatolian Shepherd. And Cora is also a thoroughbred. None of them are junkyard dogs, they'll defend their charges to their last breath. I looked these breeds up on Google & am mightily impressed.

Leeske really is a true protector. Allowing an injured duck to stay by him is exceptional. He knows what animals belong on the farm and that's all he cares about. If an animal isn't introduced to him by you or Rachel, then it doesn't belong there. Mojo is so flipping amazing. He looks like he'd just be a big lump but the fact that he takes off like that, can clear a fence and all the rest... amazing and definitely due for a few extra eggs. All the pups are! Kora staying back may be because Leeske told her to, lol, or it could just be that she knows someone's gotta stay with the animals. Knowing she's the lil one, she's best suited to be an alarm for them while the big boy looks after the predator.
I do have to say, Rachel you looked absolutely beautiful in today's video. You always are beautiful, but there was just something about you today that made you sparkle.

I, too, lost a cat to coyotes, and the vet we got her to, said he, too, had lost one to a coyote.
@@coleneritchie5625 I hate coyotes. I’m not one for hunting outside of meat but I go out of my way to hunt coyotes. I’ve lost a dog and a cat to a pack of them. They are pests that don’t belong here as far as i’m concerned.
@@coleneritchie5625 That's why domesticated cats belong inside. That's your fault for being irresponsible. It's not rocket science to keep a cat inside. There is no reason for them to be outdoors. I doubt your vet had a cat outside. Every Vet I know is against having domestic cats outdoors.

@Abel Amanda it's really ridiculous to expect cats to be happy inside, isn't it. If they like being inside, that's one thing. But, if they are like most normal cats, their instinct makes them want to be out hunting. And, not to belittle a cat's life, but if they are killed by another animal, it is truly the circle of life.
I'm glad kitty is ok. You definitely have a coyote problem. I would sit outside with the bang bang and take them predators out. That is scary. I would keep a good eye on the kitty, little dog and the kids. Much love. Have a great weekend.

Goodness, those coyotes are very brazen, coming that close to the house in broad daylight. Leeske is really stepping up, very brave, especially when it seemed to be many coyotes. Mojo was onto it the next day as well. Interesting seeing the goats wait for the all clear from Leeske before heading out to the pasture. It will be good when Kora gets a bit older & bigger. Go over to raven tree ranch theyve a cat called recon cat Luna, she’s the absolute boss of all them dogs they all bow to her and she does the recon from the holes the rug for her and up her trees. She is an incredible cat such a clever cat they’ve 3 LGDs and 3 border collies and luna the recon cat they don’t have such a military set up it’s insane. Must watch if you love LGDs they are lily Judge and Bo x

I saw where Cora was digging out from the gate and Leeske tapped her on the head twice to tell Cora to stop digging. Leeske is a good teacher. It's cute seeing all the goats walking single file out to the pasture

I’m glad all the critters are okay. If you look in the lower left corner of your video when Mojo jumped up and took off, Smiegle was about to come on the porch. He was scared off and ran across the front of your garage doors when Mojo went the other direction.

Love Livestock Guardian Dogs! My Maremma once protected an injured squirrel... I believe they protect any animal that is not a predator so the duck must have felt so much better with the dogs. Love your videos. That wonderful herd looks so great walking out into the enormous field.

Those coyotes sounded awfully close. Hope they've moved on? Your goats can sense the danger and are glad to have Leesky with them. Never knew how interesting goats are. Their personalities are all different.

Same problem here with coyotes getting way too close. Not sure if it is legal in your state but here we have hunters who use a call box to bring them in to eliminate them. Glad all is well, great job the dogs have done. Coyote's have been known to attack people too

Ya'll be safe , I have seen the news about people in Oklahoma being attacked by packs of dogs here recently and 1 woman killed. Don't know if thats in your area, but Kevin is right the will try to lure your dogs away and kill them as well. As always love watch'in. God Bless...!!!
This is the first video I've seen from this channel and I have to say, y'all seem like really sweet people who care about every single one of your animals. Sometimes farm life can cause people to detatch from the animals and, while I can understand why, it always breaks my heart when I see somebody who thinks ONLY of the monetary value of an animals. You're good people.

That's their natural habits is to protect the animals that they are with on a farm or place

@@genewileyopa Most of the behaviors are automatic. Usually, the only things that need to be taught are learning to be careful with the farm animals (like sometimes puppies will be very playful and be rough on chickens or spook skittish cattle) and the basic commands like come and stay as livestock guardian dogs can be very independently minded. Some will ignore your commands entirely if they think there is something more important to deal with. It's really important to get in their heads to come when you tell them to regardless of who or what shows up to the property. If you can't control them, it can lead to more aggressive ones attacking innocent visitors, chasing wolves into traps, getting in fights with bigger animals like bears or moose, etc.
That's a rare thing as they are usually very intelligent and composed dogs, but that risk exists.
The best thing to do with guard dogs is to raise them with the animals that they are guarding they start to think of them as their pack and want to guard them as family members

Kevin you should think about getting a high viz collar or vest for Leesky and Cora when she's older. That way you'll be able to spot them quicker with your flashlight. BTW I love your flashlight, it illuminates quite a large area.
Cora's getting so big! Leesky is smart trying to stop Cora from digging out he kept stopping her and she doesn't like it!🤭 Love all the dogs and animals! Mojo is big dog and he saves his energy and let's the young ones keep those coyotes out. But if one gets in the fence then watch out! Great guard dogs! I was raised in the country and coyotes were a problem. When the hunt in packs they yep a lot. When they get quite is When you worry.
Hopefully you can get the coyotes under control. Pray the duck heals well and the other ducks leave it alone. Leeske knows to protect the duck and knows when to let you take control.
Their hearing is UNREAL. My boy can hear someone walking down the street, 5 minutes before they walk by our house.

Mojo ran too fast for anybody to get to see him all puffed up when they get angry, it’s just something to see because they’re already so big but when they puff up they look humongous especially with all that hair around their neck they look like a lion or something you know. They are such a beautiful dog, I have a picture of my male just gazing out into the sun right after he got groomed and it looks like a professional took the picture, he just looks so majestic. I miss him terribly, he was one of the best dogs we’ve ever had and he was just stunning.

You're correct Kevin coyotes travel in groups called packs and their babies are called pups!Pups suckle for up to 7 weeks then they eat regurgitated food for an additional three weeks.
