You didnt mention the big issues with the deco m9 plus, it does not support viewing which device is connected to which deco and which device is connected to 5ghz and which to 2.4ghz, V1 has this feature and V2 is NOT. Big issue for tp link
You can backhaul between two unit , But i have some problem that require me to restart the second unit since the speed will be drop ,But i connect second unit to hub since i need 8 lan port =-= other than this i'm happy with it since no one in my house complain about wifi, Also the antivirus help me a lot since my family member use to visit the website that have Phishing it save me a lot , Even i want UI on web browser for advance config but i guess i will trade with it
You wont.. Just know that 2.4ghz comes with limited transfer speeds.. But if your camera can only connect to 2.4, it almost certain that its live record rate (in kbs) is smaller than the max transfer speed of 2.4
Hi, I bought the m9 plus and I'm waiting for it to arrive. But I have a question that I hope its not a problem. I have wireless security cameras around the house and they only connect to 2.4GHZ, since the deco is one ssid and I cannot separate the 2,4 and 5 ghz, i want to know if there will be issues connecting them to the 2.4GHZ band and how the deco will know to connect them to this band and not to the 5ghz band. Another question, is there any where I can see which of my devices is currently connect to the 5ghz and which are connect to the 2.4 ? on each of the decos looking forward to hear from you
@@xXTheRealTorontoXx yes, the m9 plus v2 is the worst system, they does not support viewing which devices are connected to which Deco, also not supported which device is currently connected to 5ghz and which is 2.4ghz
I just updated to fios gigabit service with the latest router, my speed with the deco is only 120 mbs I thought it should be much higher, how do I know if my settings are correct?
Is this out yet? I keep seeing articles about it that point to TP's page but you can't actually buy it there. It's also not available from the vendors listed on their site.
Doesn't look to officially be on sale at the moment, not quite sure why. I'm going to email my contact and see if they have an official release date or if something is delayed. I would image it should have been the day they announced it.
It's so odd that they went through the trouble to get the PR engine revved up for a product that isn't even out yet. There's literally 10+ articles about it's release on Google but there's not even a timeline on release. Hopefully it will be out soon though
I'm sold on Deco as the one I want to buy but I want 3 M9 units not just 2 given my home conditions. Otherwise, I'm going to break down and buy the Asus Lyra.
can you please do a video on mesh systems with parental controls? Does this product offer parental controls that allows me to kick my kids off the network, set timers etc.... I need something to give me back control. I am trying to compare the Orbi and covr also. I need something that I can also control remotely hopefully using an app so that if I am not home I can still have control over the internet.
bjay dy since this only comes in a 2 pack I have a house that’s 4000sq ft on the main floor and 8000 with the basement, I would need 3 for my house so if I bought another single separately can that connect with the others?
I have problem to connect to my wireless printer. It is connected via USB to my first Deco but if I try to print from my laptop I can't find the printer. Any help?
Hey, I have a question. I bought the TP-Link Deco M9 Plus Smart Home Mesh with an extra deco. So 4 in total. My main Deco is plugged into the wall with ethernet for straight connectivity. 2 other deco's connect with the main deco from another room for an optimal connectivity in house. Now I need to reach another room that is kind of far away from those 3 deco's. This signal doesn't reach this room... What I can do is set up this deco in this seperate room with ethernet! But then it seems the deco can only work as an independant wifi network... can this deco also be part of the same WIFI system? For user friendly-ness it seems more interesting that the 4th deco is part of the same wifi network.
Hi.. Jelle did you ever get this worked out? I Just upgraded my internet so that meant upgrading from the Deco M5 to the M9. With the M5 I was using 5 disc. I know 5 is a bit much but I have exterior WiFi lights so I needed the added disc to get signals through the brick and up into my Eves and landscaping. I was on a 400/20 Coax network and the M5s did great but then I upgraded to a 1 gig fiber. I tried configuring the M5 Deco units and other than at the main Router disc the speeds sucked.... 60-80Mbps upload and download. With the M9 Tri-band and dedicated Back-hall I am able to run just 4 of the M9 discs. My home is 2 floors (basement and main floor at 3,300 sqft total) plus the outside lighting & speakers. I am using the dedicated Back-hall instead of running Ethernet between the discs and I am getting excellent speeds. I am curious as to what your end result was????
try running an Ethernet cable from that last unit to the nearest om the mesh- I think it should work. But use an exterior kind of cable if it goes out in the sun, or use inside an protective pipeline.
No, this combine both 2.4g and 5 ghinto one, can’t separate. If you have broadlink rm pro (home automation), you can’t use it. And deco have access point mode. So it can connect to old router
Thanks for watching! 😊

Can I use it with my existing network with wired router?

Nir Avniel yupe. Just returned m9 plus and got m5 with way more features and status

Can they be wired together for a more reliable network? I get confused between MESH, and just additional access points for my current netgear router.
Yes. I used it as a "wired" connection to my bedroom

Shawn Laverty what deco model do you have?
IS IT BEST TO USE ONE UNIT FOR MY NEW ROUTER> OR SHALL i PLUG IT INTO MY EXSISTING ROUTER
Hello, if you are upgrading, it probably be better to replace your existing router for the new router.
Hi, once I have used the app to set up the Deco M9, do my wife also need to download the Deco app before she can link to the M9? Thanks
No, the app is just to change the settings

Yes you can!

Leigh Askin This System has parental controls. He mentioned it in the video and showed the controls on the app.
You can get Deco M5 for $159.00 3-pack or purchase Deco M9 for $322.00 2-pack is it worth the difference of $163.00?
I think it also depends on the internet speed delivered to your house. If you have e.g. 300 Mbps, M5 should be more than enough.

Is the m9 MU MIMO? Or just MIMO?
MU-MIMO
Auto Path Selection
Self-Healing
AP Steering
Band Steering

how many M9 plus can be connected in a single network?
9 total

Can I combine my m5 to m9 plus?
Yes
Lol six months later but thanks anyway.
Love my Deco M5 (3 pack) 🔥
What would happen if you plug all 3 ethernets into router , not just one.
it would try to compete with itself. no good
You enter the multiverse
My home internet strains to load this video. How ironic.

@@termsaksinghawungcha4581 why it cant work with broadlink?
This is not a review. Is more of a "hey, buy tp-link products and they will send me more products for me to tell u what they are meant to do"
Nice!
You make something so boring, seem so interesting!
Haha sweet! Sometimes tough to make a video on something like this, I try to make it as straightforward and interesting as possible.
Very poor

Horrible product
