  • A clip I gleaned for The Tragically Hip - A National Celebration. I can't believe Gord was able to tour after brain surgery and chemo!

I seen The Hip Play at the War Child Concert at The Forks in Winnipeg. A great example of a decent man in an indecent time. The Canadian music scene is crap without me Downie.

I went to this with my cousin and we had a fantastic time! I hadn’t seen her for 15 years and she thought it would be a nice thing to do for me as she knows how big a fan I’ve always been. She’s also neighbours with a member of the band and was able to get an incredible position. Anyway, a few months later she was diagnosed with the same same condition as Gord. After a rough few years she passed away recently and I’m drawn back to these videos regularly lately, hoping to catch a glimpse of us, but no such luck!

He did get a heads up. I think that meant a lot to him to have a warning.

Thanks for putting this up. One of my favourite songs. "Gord" is a total poet and superstar. Was very pleased to see The Hip live in concert in Vancouver in 2006 and sad when I saw the last show on TV, Aug. 20/2016. He passed away only 14 months later. Gone too soon, but the music will last forever. "My music @ work........."

At 2:30, I can't tell if Gord is just checking his buddy's microphone; but his touch is very endearing the way he softly puts his hand on his arm & chest. You can tell they're really close... I just thought that was a really genuine moment in time captured between those two.
Bless all of these guys for giving us so many soundtracks to live our lives to. Amazing performance from everybody and it sounded great on video. (I've heard from my cousin that the Hip's acoustics tend to reverb a lot less in an outdoor environment and with Gords voice being so dynamic it makes sense. Even so this was great to listen to for TH-cam quality!)
Have a good day everybody! Have fun today!

I'm not sure many Canadians have ever had much of anything but a big ass middle finger for our government and cops... Both seem to enjoy making life living hell in their own way. Oh well. GTFO if you can, I'd have left as a little kid if I were able to.
      Great musicians, but shit country.
