I was at this show, and over 30 years later it still remains one of the greatest gigs I have ever been to. This was the second song they did - if my memory serves me right - and the band carried on with the same intensity, energy and ridiculously talented performance for the next two and a half hours. They have since had to rebuild Wembley stadium and I've always said that this crowd has something to do with that 🙂
I was at the opposite end when I saw them at a pub in Perth in 1981 in front of about 300 people. They were a good little band then. Little did I know they'd end up here.
I had a ticket and passed on it. Loved INXS but didn't like most of the support acts and didn't want to be stuck in Wembley all day and night. Genuinely, one of my biggest regrets
Absolutely love this request, Mike. Way, way back maybe 3 years ago now I requested INXS What You Need from the same gig, and it sent me down a request journey that I've never regretted.
Aussie bands rocking the world, somewhere after the Easy Beats broke 'Friday On My Mind' Australians discovered their own, Little River Band, Men at Work, AC/DC, Midnight Oil, Crowded House, Silver Chair, INXS and a tonne of others. There'll never be a time quite like that again. Live music ruled Oz, until the big pubs started to close.
"Hands-Free" generation. No Phones. Live in the Moment. Remember it. Clap without any encumbrances. No need to film what you saw, because you were seeing it.
INXS made no profit for this UK gig in July 1991. The funds were used to record this concert was in 35 mm with no less than 17 cameras, helicopters & all! Remastered in 2019. Wembley set list: "Guns in the Sky" "New Sensation" "I Send a Message" "The Stairs" "Know the Difference" "Disappear" "By My Side" "Hear That Sound" "Original Sin" "The Loved One" "Wildlife" "Mystify" "Bitter Tears" "Suicide Blonde" "What You Need" "Kick" "Need You Tonight" "Mediate" "Never Tear Us Apart" l "Who Pays the Price" "Devil Inside" "Shining Star"
I saw INXS on the X Tour and MH is the most charismatic singer I’ve ever seen. The epitome of ‘all the girls wanted him, and all the boys wanted to be him’
@@juliemartin4267 apparently had tomatoes thrown at them...Tim I think recounts in an interview ..then questions.."Who brings vegetables to a rock concert??"..LoL 5 years later..no tomatoes were thrown 😜🤣🍅
This is the old Wembley, it was knocked down and rebuilt not long after 1991. I saw them previously at the smaller venue on the site, Wembley Arena in 1988. Top band live.
I saw INXS in Wagga Wagga NSW in the early 1980's at the Riverina Australian Football Club (Rulies). $2 I think, they had a spiral backdrop that was supposed to spin you out. At that time they were awesome but aligned to their early albums which were a bit tougher and reflected their pub gig origins. I still love those early albums and if you don't then you can "shove it brother, just keep walking" Michael was the Mick Jagger of the new generation and it's so sad his life ended the way it did.
Yes that video is very rare as Wembley as it was doesn't exist anymore as they built a new stadium in the same place early 2000s. But as they say this was a banging performance and captures INXS at the very peak.
Thought you guys would get round to this one, at some point - in my opinion, this concert has to be up there with Queen's Live Aid performance - INXS absolutely smashed this one out of the park - RIP Michael
Not sure if you have done Queen live at Live Aid, Wembley Stadium, 1985, but i would say those 21 minutes by Queen and Freddie Mercury, was the best Live peformance EVER!! Check it out, big hugs from the UK xx
This was INXS at there absolute peak July 1991. Sadly in the next few Michael Hutchence would suffer massive brain damage from a bouncer in Amsterdam. And would never fully recover leading to his tragic death in 1997. Also by the end of 1991 Nirvana released Nevermind and the whole music scene would change overnight. From 1992 it was all downhill from INXS so what you are seeing here is literally the top of the mountain. No Australian band apart from AC/DC had been able to play stadiums this big !
Can you guys react to Def Leppard performing rock rock till you drop from Sirius xm! It was from a show they did last June of 2024. Proves they still got it.
Why do people think these reactions are natural or real? They are fakes. They act like they don't know the band or have never seen the video and people believe them. Social media is definitely dangerous, anyone can post something and people believe them.
They were the Best band in the World at that time .....RIP M.H
Absolutely, I saw them dozens of times, starting in 82’, probably the most complete band ever, always put on a great show.
Michael jokingly said at that concert "This is the biggest pub we've ever played"
73,000 plus people & no cameras in phones...so everyone is just enjoying the music
Yes, Not now. They ought to not allow them in concerts. Copyright?
Best band to come out of Australia! i.m.o. :)

Love this concert, play the dvd often. INXS just pushes out ACCA DACCA as my favourite Aussie band Thank You Travis and Suzi
So many Aussies in this chat! How do you know? Cause we're Aussies!
Happy Birthday Michael Hutchence RIP 🙏🏻💔😭🙏🏻💔😭

I can understand why mate!🙂
everytime i see inxs...can't believe he is gone. every single time.
I saw INXS twice once on their Kick tour and once on their Suicide Blond tour, they were fantastic.
They were probably the most awesome band in the late 80s and 90s. RIP Micheal. 😭
I was devastated when Michael passed😢 He’s got the good looks of Jim Morrison “Yummo”😊
Fantastic performance. INXS was such a great/fun band.
❤❤
Great performance, and perfect sound mix for a live show.
What a performance by INXS they are one worlds famous band ever you knock whole stadium
This song is one of my faves!
This is the BEST live performance of INXS!!
MH was like a God on that stage at Wembley. Charisma through the roof.
Fantastic, I forgot how good his voice was! Even the deaf would have enjoyed that, the floor would be bouncing! Wow! 🙋🎉

What an amazing song. INXS were a machine ... falling down the mountain etc such incredible songs between 1984-1990. R.I.P. Michael H

Michael is one of the best lead singers ever. Many of his contemporaries would say so too
I saw INXS on the X Tour and MH is the most charismatic singer I’ve ever seen. The epitome of ‘all the girls wanted him, and all the boys wanted to be him’
One of the best concerts I have ever been too was an INXS concert.
One of the greatest live bands ever!!!
You got that right.👍 dozens of great songs. Fantastic performance.
Seen them live a couple times. Fantastic shows. Such a fun time! Great reaction!
Aussie Legend His passing caused a lot of heartache!! RIP MICHAEL!!
1980s Australia & New Zealand, INXS ruled supreme
I saw INXS live at Wembley but that was when they were just a support act for Queen in 1986

The 4K restoration of this concert is fantastic....looks like it was filmed yesterday and the sound is amazingly good. So much better than the DVD.
My favorite band of all time they were truly a special band their music is timeless
Timeless! .....

Very cool awesome video the best love ya both
Paradise City with Guns N' Roses, absolutely the best ever

I was fortunate to see INXS play the same year at the Perth Entertainment Centre in West Australia. They were supported by Ratcat, AMAZING concert!
omg ratcat ...totally forgotten about them!
Anything from this concert is a banger, but I'd definitely check out "What You Need" - they are right in the groove with that track.
They have done it 😊
A million people have said they were there, Amazing
Great group. ❤❤
Go the Aussie singers!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Grande banda que foi❤

Michael definitely has that X FACTOR (not every artist does)

God i miss this band
❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
I was there, just to the side of the central tower. Awesome day. Only front man to get anywhere close to Freddie.
🍒 👀
Please do "He Is" with Ghost
🇦🇺🇦🇺
👍
Try the keyboard player solo country stuff, songs like something stronger or come midnight
Saw them two times live, was a big fan...so sad MH comitted suicide😑
The official music video studio version is so much better!
Great video, great band... But your reaction was like "thank you and goodnight"
It felt a bit disconnected
They were not this popular in the USA. And that's all that matters.
Yes they were!
This shirt should be worn WAAAAY more often… just sayin…😳 it makes an INXS reaction tolerable 😂
