I'm 60 yrs old,I'm from the States, and this has been my favorite band for a long time! Gord is one of the best front men ever! Miracles can happen and if I had one wish....Thank you Canada! God bless The Hip!!
Thank you for your kind words. I am Canadian and The Hip are embedded in my soul. For me, there are no borders, only great music. Your country has produced many legends of rock...too many to name. I love the Smashing Pumpkins, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Chilly Peppers, Jane's Addiction, Alice in Chains, The Cars, and even older music such as CCR, Aerosmith, Doors, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Heart...oh, there are just too many...Good music completes the soul...cheers :)
I play the drums for a Band in Seattle. gORD. When I heard Up to Here, The Hip took over my #1 spot surpassing ac/dc. I am now 50+. Our band, gORD, only plays Hip songs. For me, Gord Downey will forever define the title "Rock Star". The choice to thank his fans with their final tour is truly legendary. May he forever enjoy the Grace of Heaven. "What's next to the moon...? ROCKSTARS"! - ac/dc
I'm 52yrs old & from Florida, this band's has been the soundtrack of my life. I had to travel a lot to see them on 9 different tours including in 2007 at the House of Blues in New Orleans, this was thier first time there since Hurricane Katrina in 2005. New Orleans is Sinking was extra special that night!
I am also from the states. I was living in Bangor Maine when Road Apples came out. They were playing 3 Pistols on the local station. I was instantly in love with them went out the next day and got "Up To Here" Had to wait for "Road Apples" for 2 more days. It wasn't in the record stores yet. Had the amazing privilege of seeing them in Columbus Ohio in 2002. They are, for me, one of the greatest bands in history. From any country. Long live Gord and The Hip!!
Canada Here - I am SO Happy 4You that You discovered The Hip!! They created ALOT of Fantastic, Creative, & Honestly - JUST REALLY GOOD MUSIC in General!! I think if more people got 2See them & if they Were promoted better in the states, They COULD have Been As Huge EVERYWHERE as they are in Canada. I Thank You for Your lovely comment - Keep 'em ALIVE & Kickin by Playing their music & Sharing it with friends. Keep on Rockin!!
I love watching this it brings me back to really good times in my life. I grew up on these guys living just across the border in VT. Some of the best shows where at the memorial Auditorium in Burlington. Gord just had a presence about him. Amazing band!
Got to see them several times. Just tucked this vid away to listen to before work, Gord will get me through. Sad this is over. Thanks Gord 😇 and the Hip for an adult lifetime of AWESOMENESS
I grew up in Conneaut, Ohio. Listening to the very same FM96, mostly because my radio couldn't get Rocket. Started in 1990. It was a Two-fer Tuesday, I think. Blow at High Dough and Opiated, I think. The DJ was Leigh Robert. Absolutely life defining. Then I moved to Erie and lived there from 95-03. TH-cam and the Hip how it's a small, small world.
As man who bleeds red and white fully and completely🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 I believe every true Canadian feels like the Hip belongs to us completely!!! As a true and Hip fan, if anyone ever said they hated hip music or just that it wasn’t their type music, we take that as an huge insult, and get enormously angered. It’s funny looking at it that way but I do. These genius boys from Kingston Ontario belong to every Canadian born Citizen!! When Gordie passed on that that great gig in sky, a part of every Canuck sort of died that day as well. We love ya Gordie, he made the mood the day you came into this world buddy!!!! The Hip baby
I'm sadden to admit that I've never seen this band live, I know, I know, terrible. Gord passed away a few days ago and I never will have the chance now. Gord's over-the-top theatrics on stage is what sold me in loving this band. Saw their live Satellite Juno performance," Locked in a Trunk of a Car" and was really my first time seeing the band play live. Gord was one of a kind!! He pulls everything out of the hat when on stage, and it works for him. May he rest now.
My kids were huge fans, especially my son. So was I, but I dont't do large venue concerts.. They went to every show in Vancouver. Truly Canada's band...
The party may be over, but their incredible music and live performances will live on forever. Welcome to HIP Nation. Enjoy! th-cam.com/video/oWDPo2lk43c/w-d-xo.html

Jesus blessed this band and God gave them the tools..to make damn sure they made us feel and be happy with what was meant to be heard.. God bless
Out of this World… amazing

Ah yes.
The mid song rants. They were so awesome.
The microphone rant was one of the most epic things I’ve ever witnessed
Is Gord Downey Canada's Bruce Springsteen? I think he is. This video rocks.
grew up in Erie, pa listening to these guys across the lake on fm96. Great introduction to some incredible rock n roll as a teenager
