After watching the recent doc I have been up to my eyeballs in their catalog. I’m convinced that they were the greatest band ever. There is no comparison to anything else. The DJ was Leigh Robert. Absolutely life defining. Then I moved to Erie and lived there from 95-03. TH-cam and the Hip how it's a small, small world.
I'm sadden to admit that I've never seen this band live, I know, I know, terrible. Gord passed away a few days ago and I never will have the chance now. Gord's over-the-top theatrics on stage is what sold me in loving this band. Saw their live Satellite Juno performance," Locked in a Trunk of a Car" and was really my first time seeing the band play live. Gord was one of a kind!! He pulls everything out of the hat when on stage, and it works for him. May he rest now.

Saw them at DTE or as it was previously known as Pine Knob. Although I was already a fan I was surprised at how hard they rocked. RIP Gord.

Growing up.in southern Ontario, long weekends meant going up north to a cabin cottage or camping, bonfires, beers and The Tragically Hip was our band.
