Hi Brian, Matt is playing a piano intro here that is basically what would become "Take A Bow" on Black Holes & Revelations two years later, best wishes :) P.S.: My story I can share about this piece is that he starts the lyrics with "H-8 is the one for me, it gives me all I need and helps me co exist with the chill" which is referring to an early space conputer of that name and Matt telling basically a story of the cold isolation of space and an emotionless computer as his only company. To me it's an allegory about raltionship. "H-8" is written out as "Height" in the album booklet, and to this day I wonder if that's slightly confusing on purpose or not. Matt's mainly a pianist and he writes most Muse songs on piano. Morgan (the fourth live member) only played piano when Matt was playing lead guitar. Otherwise, it's always Matt on keyboards, as it should be. You should check out "Pianon thing"! (yep, that's the title).
Muse I find interesting. I've never been into rec drugs or drinking, but listening to Muse sometimes calms my mind when my TYPE A overactive mind is on the fritz, (which is often) Take A Bow is a great song, love those songs that take your mind on a journey!
