Hey Richard good to have you back mate👍 Wondered where you've been. I started off in the spare room with a 8×4 thought that would do but moved a table and added a L shape to it. Then moved a book case and added another couple of feet to the length that was interesting had tracks going nowhere bits of crap everywhere and me starting to think maybe should have left it alone 🤣😂. But thats it i'm done no more room. It now touches 3 of the 4 walls lucky that there is plenty of storage underneath. Don't give up just go through the motions mate it will all come together👍👍🙂.

Thanks David! One of the joys of having lack of time, lack of budget and serious lack of energy/motivation at times! Hopefully I will get a bigger shed sorted in the near future though and get back to the layout!

No worries Richard, I quite understand. I have only one room available to me and I'm sitting in it...things get cluttered! All the best with the lay-out and the making of space. Keep Safe, sir. Cheers!

Thank you for the encouragement! I have been working or trying to organise the shed a bit better since the video. 🏠⚒👍

One word-focus. It took me getting Cancer a second time to focus and just knock out projects one after the other. My layout is almost ready to run trains, unfortunately I ran out of funds. When the financial situation gets better, back to work I will. You are spilt between two hobbies you like, looks like trains are losing. Hope you get your mojo back and figure out what you’re going to do about it. Thanks for sharing.

Hi there. Thanks for the comment! Wow! Cancer twice?! Oh that sucks... However congratulations on beating it!
Yeah, I guess things like that can really put things into perspective... A situation this year made me realise that yes, life IS short, so I have been focusing on my hobbies... I am torn between the model railway and sci fi, yes, and for now I am focusing on the sci fi 🚀👽🤖 as my space is limited in the shed... However, once I (eventually) get "project Big Shed" up and sorted, I will be going back to more time on the layout! 🚂🛤⚒

Richard, you really need to get the other shed built, I would build it so that it was attached to your current shed, once it is built you could get some baseboards down and then move some of the stuff from your cluttered shed underneath the baseboards and then you could really organise the two sheds properly.

Yeah, I know... The bigger shed has been on my wish list, but lack of time, energy and budget has stopped my tracks... Its still a dream though! I've not given up! 🏚🖌⚒🏠

Hi Richard I know the feeling and when your in a position where space is a premium you have to get creative and use the waisted space available to you so I needed a work table and a place to put my tools so I built a large draw under the layout to store my tools in and a sliding top to use as a bench enabling me to get access to tools as I work on it. So if you see space see if you can find 2 uses or more for it ?

I have actually been working on space saving since I posted this... For example, I have a paint rack now, one for my greeblies (for my Sci Fi channel, Darlingbrough Sci-Fi Builds), but its still a shed with shed things lol!🚂🛤🏚

Hi Richard. Didn't you get a new, larger shed?

Hi Paul@ haha A new shed WAS the plan, however it still hasn't materialised... But when it DOES eventually happen, I'll be happy! 🏚🚂🛤⚒👍

Hi Richard. I'm a new poster but long time viewer .... what do you think of the idea to combine both your interests. You could build a steam punk layout...its kind of a futuristic fantasy vision. The SI-FI stuff you model could be integrated onto the layout and that way you don't have to have two areas full of stuff. it would be just one space (no pun intended) for everything together.....just a thought

Believe me I understand,if you want to build a model railway you have to prioritise it over all else ,my wife made me realise my mistakes , make your shed comfortable with plenty of storage for all your clutter ,hope all works out for you your not alone 😉

I have been planning a bigger shed but lack of time, budget and motivation has prevented me from getting anywhere so far! 😞🏚

What happened to the other shed you were building?

I got as far as planning it, then ran out of budget, time and motivation... (mostly lack of energy on my part haha!) But I've NOT given up on it totally! 🛖🏚🖌⚒🏠👍
