I needed to move an 8’x5’ shed about four feet that was heavy. I cannot believe how much easier it was using 2 baseball bats and one car jack handle. Your idea was brilliant. I would still be trying to move it if I didn’t see your video. Thank you.
Just wanted to say thanks. My shed was 10x16 and used 2 in pvc as rollers over 2x6 on crushed stone. Tried 3/4 metal but wouldn’t budge. Never would have attempted without this inspiration. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for this! We moved my 12 x 8 shed yesterday and it only took one hour! Turning it was probably the biggest challenge but still went smoothly using 8' fence posts 😊
Thank you! Great video and so helpful. My husband will be moving a shed this weekend and I showed him your video. He was so impressed. We really appreciate your help!
Good job thank you for sharing. We had to do this at my place. We used 4 inch PVC pipe. It worked great. We had to go up and down the hill so the PVC bent with the hill. Pretty good.
I have to move a 8x10 shed it will eventually need to go up a hill. How did you get yours up? Mine isn’t a big hill but it will be a difference in the grade of the ground for sure. So a small hill. Any help would be very appreciated 😊
My mom had a 15 by 30 foot building framed and all and a guy bought it and moved it like that out of a back yard to a driveway to load on a trailer . That's amazing dude :)
This is exactly what i need to do. thanks. My shed has sunk a bit on one side and I want to pour a slab or cement post for it for it . This is perfect for moving it out of the way. Ill figure out how to put it back on the slab afterwards
Omg, I could watch you work all day. Sorry to be so bold, but you are a mighty intelligent and handsome young man. I admire your power mind and power actions to getting it done.
Thank you for this! Going to move a shed tomorrow with this method, and the great thing is I don't even need to buy anything exra because I have a ton of nice round fence posts lying around.
My 12x20 (3000lb) shed sits on 15 3" metal piers and I need to move shed to build a shop. My plan was to tear the shed down later to reuse the lumber for the new shop. I do have to remove all my belongings to make it as light as possible. I have a 12,000lb badlands winch I can use plus a few bottle jacks. Thanks for the video.
One time we had to move a shed out of the way of a garage addition. Fortunately the customer had some salvaged clips of telegraph poles. Rolled it a couple hundred feet.
Harpster did forgot to mention the most important part; Getting rid of the wasps first XD Was thinking about a method like this to move a wood/tin gambrel style shed by myself. Terrain is too uneven though. Back to plan A, use a reciprocating saw to cut the trusses off the wall. and move it in a couple separate pieces.
OK, so I have a shed I need to move. I'm not even going to share how embarrassingly I had over thinked it. Definitely using your method now. This was definitely a "Duh" moment for me and I usually consider myself a pretty creative problem solver. After watching your video, my plan might have been a bit overly creative.🤦♂️
Ok. I’m about to move my shed soon, hope this works. Everything else I’ve done ended up in disaster. I was taking out some bushes and just broke the main water line. Lucky for me there is a Plummer down the street. Lol
Great and to the point vid man! Chould put half a dozen cement pavers under the floor contact with dirt. I moved a little smaller shed similarly using pvc rollers...a long 2x6 lever helps turn and go uphil
Hi and thank you for the innovative idea, Wow! Eureaka moment all the ideas . I was thinking of Large Pvc pipe, but the galvanized fence poles. Some things you use like the HFT farm jack I have on hand! Thank you, thank you.
If you use bigger diameter pipes, you won't have to use the boards. I moved mine by myself with 3 2-inch pipes as rollers from one side of the yard to the other and turned it 180 degrees too.
@@Ryndog Yes, I used three 2" steel pipes. They're really part of a hammock stand I had. They rolled just fine on the ground. I kept moving the last one to the front. Did it by myself and I'm 80!

My neighbor does this for a living he uses thick wall PVC pipe to roll them on If they're too heavy you can use your vehicle to push or pull while you replace the pipe as the building moves
Helpful thanks! I need to move a shed four feet back. I’m in a tight space and need to push a large shed perpendicular to direction of the wood support beams. Thinking I’ll need 2X the wood to create perpendicular pipe and beam sandwiches
How can someone make a video with such step-by-step detail and not discuss and show what is used as rollers and how to obtain them? I already know but I am pointing out an obvious oversight for a YT vid.

First off thanks for watching and commenting, we really appreciate it! Now for a more grassy area I would do everything the same BUT use slightly bigger diameter pipes to give more clearance! Hope that helps, let me know how it goes!
I have an old shed that needs to be moved but it has no floor wonder if I could use some old gas lines to use as rollers? And what should I use for a floor?
Great Video! Nice to see someone actually do what they set out to do. I have an 8'x8' wood shed in the corner of my lot. It's at a 45 deg. angle and I want to make it parallel to my fence - so only about 4' or so movement. The shed is sitting on two 3x3's on dirt. I have 4 sections of 3" PVC pipe. I have 1x6 boards on hand to slide underneath. Are these OK or should I pick up some 2x4's? - Thanks
Thanks! It is actually the top rails from an old fence I took down! But any big box home improvement store will have some pipe just try and make sure it longer than the width of the shed!
Do you think this would work with something maybe 20% bigger but much heavier? My mom has this solid wood minature cabin in her backyard i want to move.
I have a metal shed screwed into the paving slabs with screws and raw plugs. All I want is to rotate the shed so that it's facing the front of my house. I've recently applied a silicone underneath to make it waterproof. Is there any chance it can be rotated?

We moved my dads 20x30 cabin this way (Old School)! I need a shed moved, so will probably be doing it this way again! What kind of jack is that, so I can lift it up to put the rollers under??
Probably not if it is level with no cracks or unevenness... but sometimes even a small rock will cause the rollers to get stuck or knocked out of alignment!

I would imagine as long as its solid enough to push or pull once on the rollers! It just needs to be a sound structure, especially the base.
Should be fine as long as the shed is structurally sound, especially the base. Make sure all the weight is out for sure.
