Just got accepted into UCLA’s Class of 2025 and I cannot emphasize this enough! My AP scores were horrendous and lets not even talk about my SAT score (though, we were lucky enough to get exempted from that 😂). However, I had so much to show for my extracurriculars and essays! I made sure to connect my passions to my extracurriculars, and then connecting it back to what I can bring to the school. Don’t be afraid to talk about your struggles, but make sure to also explain how you have overcome them! Sell yourself as an individual! There’s no format to the essays, so be creative with how you describe yourself! There’s about 2-3 people reading your application, so put in all the effort you can to convince them to choose YOU out of all the other candidates. P.S. This is coming from a person who wrote all her essays the night they were due. Don’t be like me HAHAHA 😂
@@saanchisinha7073 I had some experience with creative writing, and it's also one of my hobbies! Both my parents attended UCLA in 1981. They had 3.0 and 2.9 GPAs in high school. The acceptance rate for UCLA in 1981 was over 70%. I submitted my application and was rejected. My GPA was a 3.5 with honors classes, and plenty of extracurriculars. I got into CSUN, a school with an acceptance rate of 45%. CSUN is part of the CSU system, considered to be inferior to UCs in every way despite numerous statistics suggesting that CSUs prepare undergrads better than UCs do. It really stung to be rejected from the school that both my parents went to, but over time I’ve begun to accept that the world changes. 40 years can be a very long time, and what is and isn’t possible for a hard working student can change. From numbers alone, me getting into CSUN in 2022 was more impressive than a 1981 UCLA admit, because I was going up against a much lower acceptance rate. Maybe in 2062, CSUN will have an acceptance rate of 10% too. I guess there’s no way of knowing for sure.
I got accepted into a private school where people that got accepted into Harvard (my roommate was one), Yale etc. went to. Pretty good advice for life in general, some of which can also be applied for resume creation and job hunting. I particularly like your advice on extra curriculars, quality and not quantity. Also, I think it should be noted that even if you can't be an officer in an organization it pays to at least be an active member, part of being a good leader is being a good follower, don't just join an organization so that you could put it down on paper and not get involved. would about 4 or 5 AP classes work? I'm aiming for schools like UC San Diego or UC Irvine. My school doesn't offer honors or IB classes, and only allows us to take 6 period per day. I'm a sophomore rn, and haven't take any ap so far.
I love ur personality
Did you say “Canada” once? You seemed like an international person. I would like to watch a video that you tell us where have you lived in your life and what was the experience like back then.
Yes! Went to HS in Canada ^
@@zoeunlimited Great! I went to HS in Canada for a year too. I went HS in Virden, Manitoba. Where did you go?
Write a good essay. I think they like that.
that's not even a low SAT score
i'm a junior and my only hope for getting into a school is whatever i'll write on my essays because i've never taken an AP or honors class. here's the thing i'm homeschooled with a Cali school but i'm living in mexico right now. and when i first enrolled in this school i didn't know about those classes at all. in my sophomore year my mental health was on the ground and by the grace of God i passed my classes. then in my junior year(rn) i took a college class and that was pretty cool because i got a glimpse of how it'll be. i know that i wouldn't have passed any AP or honors courses if i had taken them bc of how bad my mental state was.
now i'm thinking about taking two honors classes for my senior year but i'm not sure, do you think it's too late? maybe it'll look dumb on my transcript?
I am not first but still early 🐰 love you queen (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
😙💗
i was on a current gpa of 4.08 till i lost my parents in a Vertie accident which affected me for a period of time which made things hard for my academic work, my gpa reduced drastically to 1.89 and this has got me really depressed till i got to know jack from a friend who said he could help. i explained my predicament to jack.smith_07 on Instagram and he told me he could help and to my greatest surprise in exactly 8 hours i logged into my portal to see my grades has been changed and gpa automatically increased, jack is a genus
not me watching this an hr before the admission decisions are released
Omg good luck!!

I’ve gotten straight A’s so far in High school (I’m a junior) and this semester I took a class for P/NP and I don’t think imma pass. I’m so glad that I took it for P/NP Bc it won’t affect my GPA but I’m scared that it’ll look dumb on my application Bc I got straight A’s in everything else. Any insight? 😭
I really want to study at UCLA it's my dream.. but my parents may not allow me to 😭 plz pray for me 😭😭 tnx Zoe for this video I guess I can get there💜💜💛

I had a question if anyone can answer actually: I'm by no means the best swimmer on my team, but I've been on the swim team since I was 10, and both my teammates and coach have guaranteed that I'll be captain by senior year of I stick with it. Is it worth staying even though I don't have any awards?
I’m a grade 10 student from Taiwan and I wanted to become a pro in Valorant, I wonder if there’s an esports application in UCLA to help me get in the school easier
I LOVE YOUUU
Just got an advertisement with this lady that had a gigachad jawline lmao
Notification squad ✌️
The queen herself has hearted my comment i feel blessed
ok, so there's hope for me 😩
I found twi exo planets in a nearby galaxy which may be habitable if the ammonia concentration decreases. Also, I discovered how to shrink tumors by bombarding it with nuclei. Furthermore, i published 14 apps in the appstore. I have a 4.3 unweighted gpa and a weighted gpa of 5. I rank -1 in a class of 1250. Is this enough to get into harvard?
I literally had perfect grades in hard classes and good ec's and got waitlisted 🤧
There is still hope!!
@@zoeunlimited yeahhh true!
@@vanityyyyy did you get in??
@@olgabla7133 I'm still waitlisted, they don't decide if anyone is off until after April 16th or May 1st (something like that)
@@vanityyyyy soooo... did u get in??

Wait I saw this video right after I handed in my application... WHY?
🤣
Alright y’all, I’m applying this year as a transfer😭😭 PRAY PLEASEEEE
what was ur weighted vs unweighted gpa?
I love the dramatic thumbnail
It's so cool (。・ω・。)
Forgot to mention that being an international student is a HUGE advantage. Your advice is good, but doing these things are not enough for California kids. UCLA sucks now, and I’m an alumnus. Go somewhere else.
Any recommendations? How is UCSB and UCD if you know?
UCLA! I’ll coming soon!!!
I don’t blame you, us IB students get all the shit sometimes 😐
Literally always :’)
Does this work with any college/Uni because I want to go to Oxford or Harvard 😭 luckily my essays are amazing bro
Hi!! My aim is to get into ucla , but how many percent should I get in my 12th grade
for my junior and senior year I am taking all college classes and I’m getting a college degree in IT and graduating with a honors diploma all at 18 is that going to impress them?
8:13 does entrepeneurship count as that?
Hey , can you please tell us more about your lor and sop .
Hey, May I ask what is your unweighted GPA?
I want to major in physics at UCLA, but I'm afraid I'm not good enough. Any advice for someone who has a 3.0 gpa, absolutely no extracurriculars, and a completely basic personality from a well-to-do family that provided him with everything he ever needed to live a happy and healthy life? Even my interest in physics doesn't have a cool backstory behind it. I simply watch a lot science videos on youtube and want to give the field a try. Do I even have a chance?
A 720 in math? I praying for just a 500 at least 💀I'm so nervous to get my scores back bc I am tremendously bad at math 💔
Me who got in magically and does not feel like she belongs at the school
you got in, you EARNED that. you did that boo ❤️
AYO BRO IN CANADA A IS 86???? OUT HERE IN MY ✨NIGERIAN✨SCHOOL THERE ISNT EVEN A* ANDDDDDD A IS FROM 97 (still get exactly 97 all the time 💅🏼
can someone help me real quick
i’m not sure if i want to spend hundreds of dollars applying to a UC school when my application may not even be looked at seriously. Will they even look at my application and consider me if i never took a performing arts class as it was not required by my high school but i noticed it is required for incoming freshman. thanks!
Make the decision you know you won’t regret!
Hey can anyone tell me the leg slim workout routine , till how many week we have to do that without ??? Anyone?
Hahaha my SAT scores are way worse. I got 930 out of 1600
