Sure am gonna miss you for a couple years look forward to you every Friday morning every week a tutorial you have worked so hard very nice quilt
I love that you tell us to do it the “way our brain works.” This is important in so many things!
Love this pattern and your colors. It’s definitely fireworks or some cosmic celestial thing!
For those that don't think it looks like a "braided" Irish chain, if you look at the pattern cover itself, it really shows why the designer called it that. I assume you would need to make the larger sizes to get that effect. It is really quite lovely. Thank you Jenny for showing us the ropes on this pattern!
Thank you for this comment! The queen sized version on the front of the pattern has a very different feel.
You are right. After reading your comment, I looked at the pattern cover, and it is really very pretty. The patchwork itself is actually easy. But the layout is more complex. A larger size would really make the pattern pop!
What an amazing quilt. Thank you Jenny for going through the process of breaking down a pattern, so we are comfortable taking on a pattern that looks difficult.
I think of the snowflakes, the spiders, and the fireworks. But I think with a blue background, it could be marine life in the ocean too. Boy, our brains are amazing! Thank you for the tutorial, and thank you, Melissa Corey, for allowing Jenny to show us.
I can totally see this as a Halloween quilt. Big giant spiders 🕷🕷🕷🕷🕷
Am I the only one who saw "snowflakes" immediately?
I admit I can also see spiders after reading the comments... but I saw big beautiful snowflakes sewn in an array of blue batiks with silver accents!
Yep, that’s exactly what I thought!
I saw snowflakes first as well.
Me too... snowflake
I saw spiders! I won't be making this one! 😂
This IS a very lovely pattern with so many possible variations😊
I could see this for Halloween as it looks like 4 giant spiders to me.
I really like this pattern and I can envision two color quilt as well as sections in primary colors or pastels❣️ Thanks for sharing the seam directions tips. It is wonderful to have a tutorial to go along with the pattern.
Thank you Jenny ! Always love to see you teaching ❤
Just one (nine-patch) block looks like it would make a great "snowflake" wall hanging. I have Christmas blues that would be great for this!
I agree with those saying this looks like giant spiders, but think exploding fireworks is another possibility. Interesting design, but I'm not seeing how it's a braided Irish chain.
Absolutely nothing braided about this. I do see the chain.
...and I bought the pattern in advance.
I see spiders. I think maybe Halloween prints would be neat
Yes, I see spiders; dancing spiders!
Pattern maker named it, not Jenny.
It looks like spiders! I love it!!!!
It seems like this could be sewn with charms or even mini-charms. I love this pattern. Thanks for finding Melissa Corey for us!
You could use up your scraps
Love ur filming by yourself!
No matter what its called, I think its a beautiful design.
What a lovely quilt
Thank you, Jenny! You make everything better!
Love this, reminds me of snowflakes. Beautiful!😊
Thank you for the Braided Irish Chain tutorial. Love the quilt 😊
Pretty!
I'm glad that I can do this my way following pictures to learn. I need visual picture seeing before I start a project . It helps to see what you need to do. Thank you for helping us see how to do this. ❤❤
I am looking every day your Mails, and Newsletter and ... with you, I refresh my "German" English and making a lot of you by quares and anothers.
Would look fantastic in Patriotic, Christmas, Halloween and something bright and floral looking❗️Very versatile depending on the fabric choices.
If you look at the patterns cover photo it is 3 x 3 layout. As a queen size you can see the Irish chain. It doesn’t look like spiders.
Very cute, lots of possibilities with different colors. My daughter and I met Melissa Corey a few years ago, very nice and talented lady, and a great teacher too.
That is a big patch!
A beautiful quilt. Thanks Jenny.
Amazed how this quilt is constructed. Very Thankful you explained the process😊
Really neat pattern.
Great tutorial. Love the quilt and pattern. Also could be a snowflake. Thats what I saw right off the bat. Thank you Jenny
Love how you explain the pattern excellent job
Pretty quilt and a great tutorial! Thanks, Jenny.
I won’t be making this one! Might be cute, but looks like spiders to me before I read anything. Ain’t doing no spiders!!! LOL!
Great tutorial, thanks Jenny!
Love it 😊
Love this pattern!
It is good to see you following a pattern that someone else wrote. Almost inevitably I have to focus really hard and read patterns over and over, and it is clear that you undertook something you found challenging and persevered. Good on you, Jenny! Also, kudos to the pattern designer for allowing you to share her work with millions. I hope she gets many sales as a result.
Question. Do you wash your tutorial (or other) quilts before gifting or selling them? I do, and as a result I am reluctant to use reds. Sometimes they bleed so badly that even a color-catcher sheet doesn’t take care of them. All that work ruined, but at least I know before someone receives the quilt.
This is the coolest looking quilt I've seen in a while!. Thank you for the tutorial!
I love the way you quickly trthreaded the needle in the middle of sewing..
A definite DO!!! Thank you!!!!
This is a great quilt to use all you 2.5 inch spare squares and not use a jelly roll. Too bad we don’t see scrap busters as tutorials
Great idea
Their jobs are too sell fabric, machine quilting services and products for the company.
That’s what pays for these videos.
Though it would be nice though if they showed a second quilt made with leftover squares or leftover precuts as a scrappy alternate version.😊 I agree with you!
Great tutorial, Jenny❤️❤️❤️
Ooòooo! Gorgeous quilt!
Sweet quilt , I love it and have just the fabric for it So thank you so much
I wouldn’t mind doing one huge block with maybe some random scattered single squares around it.
And the squares in various blues making it look like a giant snowflake
I love the quilt! Thank you for sharing it and how to make it.
❤ beautiful quilt
Such a fun pattern! I love it ❤
I love your quilt it’s beautiful
Beautiful quilts
This was a great tutorial thanks. I think I need this quilt and it would certainly deal with one of the jelly rolls in my stash lol.
Thanksgiving one be grand love it
I love this fabric line. Also I'm thinking this pattern would look great with dark background and light squares.
Love it Thankyou Jenny❤👌
The quilt is fascinating! When I first saw it, I thought it looked like spiders! So, how about making this in Halloween fabrics? It could also look really great in winter fabrics because it could also look like giant snowflakes! But, I hung in there and watched you see your magic! And wow! Nine patches! It’s very lovely!!
Thanks for the video x
This is awesome!
I wish I could sew that fast lol
Wow!
This reads as a Halloween spider quilt to me.
Fireworks!!!!! Whoo hoo!!!
Did anyone else get ads in the middle of this tutorial? One of the main reasons I love these tutorials is because there's NO ads. I sure hope they're not going to start putting them in regularly.
It's happening more and more. I think youtube wants you to buy some sort of premium service with no ads. I just endure them or skip them if it's possible.
Saludos desde Ciudad de México,me encanto el proyecto el kit lo pueden mandar a Ciudad de México.?
Spiders on a web!
Thank you so much! I
Jenny’s layout is slightly different than the one on the pattern itself. Only after looking at the pattern can I see the braided part and it’s quite pretty.
Thanks to your comments I looked at original pattern...indeed it looks entirely different...thanks for the heads up
You could use a layer cake since everything is a 2.5” square.
Or use up your scraps.
When are Jenny and Ron leaving for their mission trip. Are you all having a send off party that we customers and friends can join in even if it has to be on internet. Thanks.
I wonder what the stitches requirement is to make it a little longer? I’d like to try this pattern, although I’m longer in the torso area and would require to lengthen it. Lovely yarn choices.
❤
Hi Jenny, sorry flower but there ain't no way could i sleep under this, never mind make it in the first place, because i see ginormous spiders and they terrify me. I can see by the comments that there are other spider phobics spotted them as well, and normally i like that i have a wild imagination, but not today flower. But thank you. Crafty hugs, Norah, Glenochil, Scotland
I am exactly the same way… I look at the pictures…
I've discovered that if you press seams open you end up with 4 layers at each join. Pressing to the side you get 3 layers.
Or, made in light blue Christmas prints, it could look like Christmas Stars ⭐️
Made complicated simple and not so scarry
Why the ads? MSQ didn’t used to have ads! Looks like fireworks to me!!!
I love spiders but that wasn’t what it reminded me of. Probably giant asterisks **** 😊
Focus on that center four patch! So many options…like a variation of the chandelier pattern.
The backing amount seems pretty small for this size quilt unless it's supposed to be 108"
She said the quilt was 88" square, so 88 divided by 36 equals 2.44 yards. So if you are using 108" backing fabric, you would only need, say, 2.5 yards. Of course, if it were me, I'd buy 2 2/3 to 3 yards just to make sure I had enough. I always buy a little extra because I have been known to change the design of a quilt mid-sew-up to something I like even better.
I did the math. I always cut my backing 8-10” larger that means you need 7.5 yards , you will have leftovers but that is making a backing with2 vertical seams.
Don’t forgot to add more if adding a sleeve for hanging or competition.
Get Halloween fabric and call them spiders, 4th of July fabric= fireworks! Would be cool if the spiders, fireworks were smaller
What was the name of the quilt pattern
@@curtisharper8431 Braided Irish Chain.
But it's not braided or chaining 🤔 🤣
Why? Just go with it.
Looks like spiders to me too... lol
I saw four colorful spiders 🕷️.
Uhm..no.
It looks like daddy long legs 🕷
Looks like a giant spider .
All the new commercials are annoying.
I couldn’t follow all that
