Do you think the saltiga 20 will be getting the airdrive system upgrade soon ?The new saltiga 6000 is very tempting to get. But 8000 reel should give my rod(zenaq accura 100h type r) better balance. Having a hard time trying to decide which reel to get ! Newer product always sounds more favorable
Thank you for your comment :) Well I am not quite sure to be honest, seems like STELLA SW and SALTIGA can be renewed next year, and it's possible that next gen larger SALTIGA could have AIRDRIVE design, but at least we don't have any information about it yet. If you can wait until the beginning of the next year, might be better to wait until the next year new product information come out?
Thank you for the comment! I meant about "Heavier" for its weight, as 22 STELLA / 24 TP weigh 260g and 23 SALTIGA is 345g. This is only my personal preference but I would pick up SALTIGA if the rod weight can be balanced with this, or otherwise 22 STELLA / 24 Twinpower (or Certate if you like this).
@@jpfishingtacklenews195 I'm not sure. It's definitely lighter to turn but thats it. The Zaion rotor has always made the drivetrain feel smoother than the metal. For the 20 Saltiga vs Certate as well.
@@jpfishingtacklenews195I actually have alot of the reels you've reviewed on your channel. Currently Running Saltiga 6000, Certate 10000, Airity 3000, Certate 6000, Vanquish 5000 and Stradic FM 5000
Thank you for the comment :) I know, I personally guess because lower gear ratio models are not purchased, especially from lure anglers who purchase new products more than other type, maybe?
@@jpfishingtacklenews195 I have the 23 saltiga 6000h and a 24 certate lt5000d and the certate has more torque…stupid imo not to make the saltiga in 5:2:1…it will still have a high IPT if they did
@@jpfishingtacklenews195 btw I spooled mine with ygk full drag pe3(28.5mm… 60lb) and there was a big gap still to the spool lip…this one can take almost 300m of the pe4(.33mm…70lb)
@@Anthony_K Oh my gosh really?? The spec said 2.5-300m and 3-300m is still less, interesting.. JDM doesn't have 5000D model so I can't check by myself but interesting. Thank you for telling me that :)
got one yesterday ... amazing reel worth every $$ .. bye bye my 21 TwinPower 5000 😅
Great! We were also surprised how good it is :)
I literally just ordered one and planning to sell my 6000 TP as we speak lol
When the line roller will start to squeeze soon from rust you will get back your twin powers😅
I love Shimano dearly, but I'm starting to transform more into Daiwa, especially the saltiga series.
@@216edwin you will see your own in the future that Shimano are more reliable reels.

thanks for the review! What size would the 4000 be good for, given it is heavier than 24 Twin Power/22 Stella?

Maybe I have missed this but does the reel have an automatic bail trip or is it a manual bail?
It's manual, both DAIWA and SHIMANO heavy duty spinning reels only have manual bails so that it won't return accidentally :)
Best 6k reel i ever bought
Thank you for your comment, great to know you love it!
I love it too, great balance of strength and lightness.
I don't think its as smooth as the Certate SW 6000. Actually might be selling my saltiga 6k soon.
Oh really? It's interesting. My Certate SW 6000 wasn't that smooth and light like 23 SALTIGA, so sounds like you got better quality of Certate SW :)
