that roller drag pads are cool but its for very big game fish and i dont think everyone will be getting that 14k+ reel as lots people dont use such a big gear for normal size fishing ...i pull 40inch halibut with my cheap BG DAIWA 4k reel

​@@thatonebeoneyou can get that roller drag spool from 8k upto 14k through daiwa's after market online shop SLP -works but if you buy the spool you have also too buy the drag knob which is sold separately....

@@thatonebeone i do also own a 16 daiwa bg 5000H and by the way you can fit a 20 saltiga or 21 certate SW spool to the 16 Daiwa BG provided they have the same body size. And also i don't think that you need that new roller drag....

@@sunajiram8008 darn marketing lol .. il stick with my BG it gets the job done... ill spend the money on my light game set up i have more fun in light game since i done catch monsters lol.. getting a SLP WORKS EXIST SF 2000.. and plus i dont reel in with the reel i pull reel in with the rod mostly so i dont need a very heavy duty gearing i keep that fishing on my tuna gear lol

Yes the fishing show is set on mid January 2025. We are not quite sure yet, but we expect they will reveal more informations just a week before the fishing show. So exciting!

Thank you :) Basically, SW Version's the body is thicker and heavier, the gear is also slightly larger and thicker, the AirDrive Rotor is also stronger and more rigid over the LT models. Especially the 4000 size LT model only has C = Compact model which has 3000 size body + 4000 size spool, so SW 4000 is much bigger and more rigid but heavier.

I'm a big Shimano fanboy. I use twin power sw, multiple ocea jiggers and Saragossa, stradic etc. but it is well known in the professional fishing community that the saltiga beats the Stella in every way

@bigmil1 i have the saltiga and stella. I am a shimano and daiwa user. No, saltiga is not above stella, imo they are both equal in performance. There are more stella owners than saltiga iin my place coz the former is easy and cheaper to maintain than the saltiga. Daiwa has limited service centers. The magseal, so expensive. Parts of stella are readily available. This is how stella outperforms saltiga.

Well we'll see how they are different if new STELLA SW comes up on 2025 :) I can't personally say which is better as they are just different, they both have better points over each others, so really depends on what type of reels you like.

@@bigmil1 Honestly, I have no info yet about the stella's next upgrade or if they will release it on 2025. But let's see as the rivalry between these two is intense. But it will happen soon perhaps because Shimano transferred some technologies of the stella to the twin power this year, so perhaps there will be a big change on the upcoming stella.

I am actually quite interesting and want to know why as DAIWA does not make any models with metal rotor for smaller models.

Yes it's interesting hey.. As of our research they actually had roller oscillation for larger reels and pillar system for smaller, so I am personally not sure it's coming down to the smaller models but yes that could be interesting if that happenes :)

Official says no, looks like they made them totally separated for smaller SW and larger SW. The min size is 8000 :)

Hmm I see. Personally I am very curios of this as it has the totally new oscillation system, of course new things can be better or worse, and yeah whole model gained their weight, so well, we'll see when it's out :)

@@jpfishingtacklenews195 you didn't get me.Its not new.This patern is from 2010-2015 saltigas.Also now is super heavy.680gr for the 8000H model.For plugging no problem.For jigging its not good.Stella is only 625gr at same size.

Only buying a new one as I managed to break my current one dropping it on concrete an snapping off the reel foot . Big mistake but lucky insurance paid me out the full cost for a new reel but think I’ll wait as I have various other reels just not as nice a the saltiga

Well yes that looks more like 2023 SALTIGA hey, and I know it's not a good one for some. I am personally expecting it's a bit of in between 2020 and 2023, but yeah we'll tell how it is in our reviews when it's out :)

It is designed for shore jigging and super power fishing. If you want somwthing cheaper go for Van Staal.

Well see how it feels when it's out but that's one of the main target of this reel for, so technically yes of course :) The smallest size is 8000P/H, 670/680g, so if that meets your requirements then it should be good for it.

I would say it depends on what u wanna do If u are more into Ultra Light or light Rock Fishing a better choice would be the daiwa exist 22 LT or Shimano Stella/Vanquish but If u are more into heavier Fishing Go for it!

If you meant which one would I buy from those, then I would say it really depends. The structure and schematic is quite similar, but obviously different, TwinPower is more for powerful, tough and high durability, and the Vanquish is more for light, sensitive use. So, if I would use for tough use like jigging, offshore light fishing, I would select TwinPower. Or if that's for light game, and/or medium game fishing but you need to catch information from under the water as much as possible, I would use Vanquish. If you meant "would you buy those if you were just normal user" then I would still say yes, I've been using them since I purchased and I love them, personally.

Thank you for subscribing us! Well I personally set it so that it can spool lines evenly at the beginning, and then adjust by lure weight when I use. Normally when I set the spool tension at the line spooling it works well to the lure weight, but in case if not, i will adjust again at use. Hope it is the answer you wanted :)

Hi, it basically depends what you need for the new reel. If you don't literally need toughness, strength and not for heavy duty, Luvias will do the job perfectly. Otherwise, Certate. Personally, I wouldn't use Certate for fishing with LT2500 size as I wouldn't need such strength and toughness, and I would select either Luvias or Airity, depends on the budget.

Thank you very much! Personally the light bream rods could match with your requirements I guess. JDM SHIMANO has Brenious but they are a bit too old and almost sold out, hoping to be renewed soon. From DAIWA, Silver Wolf spinning models can be the one, Silver Wolf MX 76ML-S･Q is a versatile model but can be good for the top water plug as well. The same brand APIA GRANDAGE VICE S74ML is also good for versatile use including topwater plug, dogwalk etc. One another choice could be Eging rod, such as DAIWA Emeraldas Air 75MLM is also fast tapered, can cast up to 3.5 Size Egi - approx 22g.

This is only my personal feeling, so this won't be for everything and I won't say I am right to everyone. Personally, I like Infinity Loop as I don't have any issues by the right lines (harder line preferred), and the cast feel is great. But I can't guarantee that you wouldn't have line troubles with that, as some people say they do. If you would be worried about it, and not a big fun of Shimano, I would go with Certate. Otherwise, TwinPower can be one option for sure.

Yes the TwinPower's rotor is made by aluminium.

I am expecting the function-wise they are the same. I can only see one different on the engine plate design that the JDM model has dark line and global one doesn't. 2023 Saltiga also has slightly different colors in between JDM and global but they are exactly the same reel, if you use them.

Hmm.. Currently I am not sure, it's quite rare case to use in JDM scenes, but there is still posibility that the JDM market would not have one but global would have as they often have quite different series in global market series. Let's see :)

Hardly, because technical solutions in Saltiga work best and have place in bigger sizes.

@@bosesebi6685 Well 2020 model did not have one, but 2015 has 8000 size despite JDM only had 6500. Moreover, they can change the things a lot from the previous model, unlike SHIMANO, so at this stage it's still "possible" and that's what I can only say :)

I assume so, in 2020 Saltiga the schematic shows sandwiches the spool, although the bottom system just called spool receiver or something like that. Not quite sure about the new 2025 Saltiga just yet, but I think that system won't be changed drastically.

Hmm, probably? But I personally feel that should be differed from 23 Saltiga as of the text "PowerDrive". Surely that will be advanced feature based on Air Drive Design, but there must be some different / advanced features for the heavier reels :)

The issue I encountered was regarding to the Infinity Loop, so not only for the TP but the same to Stella and Vanquish. The issue that I had was especially for the lighter and thinner line, when I used soft, "un-coated" braid line the line was backlashed at casting, quite often as the Infinity Loop spools parallel, and can easily spool off. But when I re-spooled with a little hard coated line such as X-Braid Upgrade, VARIVAS 10x10 Max Power X8/9, DAIWA DuraSensor Si3+, SHIMANO HardBull, then I did not have any issue. However, some still says they experience the line troubles. So, now I keep using those 3 reels with Infinity Loop for years as main reels of cases, I don't have any more of issues with them, literally zero issue happened, but I can't really guarantee that you would not have line troubles.

At this stage we don't know yet, but from the 2020 SALTIGA spec table it should be the same or similar, from 8000 - 20000 sizes.

We don't know yet as no information came out yet, just expecting March - April 2025 from their trend. We will see when they officially inform :)
