Does the 5000 and 6000 share the same body and you can interchange the spools? Also, the Japanese version is slightly nicer with a bit more gold on it.
The only gripe I have with this reel is the weight, but that goes with the size of the reel th-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I brought this salmon fishing up in Oswego, NY. I coupled it with a Cabela's Whuppin Stick. I had no problem pulling in a 14lb salmon. I will probably use this for surf fishing this summer and downgrade to a 3500 series Battle II next salmon season to save my wrists. All of the operations are butter smooth and the bail is nice and thick and has a solid flip to it. Everything about this reel is sturdy and strong. The drag system held up to the salmon and was also super smooth. I did use a scale to set the drag properly before going out to the river and this worked out tremendously. A bunch of other guys on the river would hook up and snap almost immediately. Just because you have a good drag system doesn't do anything if you don't set it correctly.
The build quality is superb. The engineering is astounding and they have the strength of a Sherman Tank. I happen to own and use a Saltiga 20 in a 10000 size. It will handle any UK based Saltwater Fish with ease.
I've seen both the 2023 Daiwa Saltiga, and the Daiwa Saltiga G for sale. If there are differences between the two reels besides their color, what are they? I'm interested in buying one, but I want to be sure I get the one for my needs. Thanks!
Nice mate what rod send size reel Would you match with it chasing mulloway along the surf throwing large hardbodies Or soft plastics with a 3oz jig head
The build quality and the materials used to construct this superlative product negates that constant need to strip the reel apart. Only wilful neglect and abuse will break this reel. But why would you want to do that?
It’s a different body, but obviously a similar design. However I believe the BJ has a stronger main gear than this 23 Saltiga,. The old Daiwa flagship gears (Hyper Digigear) was marine bronze and I think is a stronger material than the G1 duralumin that Daiwa now uses in all their high end spinners. The argument that the new G1 gear is stronger is based on the fact that the gears are now bigger and beefier sizes thank to the MQ body design, not a stronger metal pound for pound. The old Hyper gear that ended with the 17 Saltiga BJ is also a heavier and more expensive material, so makes sense that Daiwa has discontinued using it.
Your videos are excellent. You hold the items right up to the camera to get super clear up close shots. Good job.. I will be ordering a maverick 5000 from you soon
Great reel if you are willing to spend $1000 for a spinning real that weighs TWO POUNDS. This thing is a beautifully made brick. The only thing it lacks is an electric motor so you can pull your boat out of the ocean.
My fishing has lots of external screw holes. Guess what? It will catch as many fish as this reel. I dont need a loud drag sound to tell me when I have hooked a fish
This is the best reel in this size ever made, period. What do you think is better, and why? The ONLY situation I can understand is if you are one of the fisherman in America that prioritises water and sand resistance over absolutely everything else and so choose a Vanstall, but in absolutely every other category for EVERY other style of fishing the 23 Saltiga is significantly better.
Maybe. But I’ve read that Daiwa/Shimano make less money on their high reels than their mid and budget ones. Mainly due to r&d costs and the fact that they sell less of these products. So you could actually make the argument that they are good value for money!
@@AMLuc1320 totally agree! That’s why you will never see a Citroen 2cv vehicle competing against McLaren sports car during a F1 race. Both are vehicles but both perform at different levels. Oh! Btw, I should expect that the Daiwa Saltiga reel will last a decade or so, longer if kept clean. The entry levels and mid point reels probably represent “value for money” at their respective price-points but one has to be realistic with expectations in relation to the budget tier reels.
A complete masterpiece! I love my new 23 Saltiga 6000-XH

Can't wait to get mine delivered!!!
Have you done a review on the Certate LT ARK?
Where is the gold collor on handle and the cap ? Why come in different collor 😮?
Pretty cool spinning reel’ i
use
saltiga overheads might go have a look at the new beauty

Currently looking at my Stradic (that i was perfectly happy with 30 seconds ago) like a red headed step child that i never really loved....
Is the line roller mag sealed? if not that will eventually be problematic.
I wish I can afford that beast great spinning reel
Beautiful. Is there a 2023 14k size or is that still the 2020 version only
No that is the 2020 series
@@TackleWest Any idea if the air drive system, tidy bail etc will be coming to the 14k
@@ShorrockPaul i don’t think so as it’s only on the smaller reels at this stage

Is this saltiga 6000xh same size as a 6000hg stella?
Lighter and another class quality vise, and many more advanced details technically
Is the body is same? So, when I buy 5000h, can i use spool size 4000h in the 5000h body?
We won't be surprised if one day Daiwa ends up giving the production of its Saltigas to Rolex......
I just received my 23 Saltiga 6000 and it matches my Rolex Submariner steel/gold with blue dial perfectly.
Can you compare the 23 saltiga to the 22 exist?
Waiting for 14k size
Damn love the looks, but the sound of the drag isn’t loud like the 2010 14000🙈
do they have the same body 4k, 5k and 6k? are they interchangeable?
The body is the same but spools are not interchangeable
What’s the price range on them?
How are the comparison to previous models eg, the Diawa 15 Saltiga 5000H range?
1199-1249. Totally different sizing. The 5000 15 is comparable to 2020 Saltiga 14k
@@TackleWest thank you
Loving my new penn authority and it is half the price
And 4 times the weight. I looked at a authority and it's Def solid and smooth but really really heavy
Looks great but I'll always have my 2013 sw Stella 4000
very nice my dear brother
what location your showroom
My dream reel 😯
We need the dogfight color way back daiwaaaaaa!!!!
Can someone answer Q about body sizes eg 5000/6000 body same-can spools swap?
4000/5000/6000 is same body size. Rotor and spools are smaller on 4000/5000 models
Cheers for your reply 👍
Okay, poll time. Daiwa saltiga or Shimano Stella?
Daiwa Saltiga is in another league
The saltiga bj 2017 have a same body .....y have one and its the best reel for my....
No the body is different
It's different, the BJ shares a platform with the Certate SW 5/6k sizes, these new Saltiga 3/5/6ks are more like the bigger reels shrunken down.
It’s a different body, but obviously a similar design.

On paper this is better than Stella SW. On water however…who knows. I am definitely interested in 5000HX

Not mate they are discontinued

I hate those ball type handles, prefer the older handle of the Saltiga's

Yes I’m curious also. In the market for one of these with a GLoomis rod
