For anyone who hasn't heard yet, those shoulders are mis-assembled from the factory, the shoulder joints were installed upside down, that's why reversing it seems to fix it. It can be fixed with a few tools pretty easily. The Galvatron I got from Target a few days ago is assembled correctly, you can tell because the joint is smooth at the top and has some molded in detail thay aligns with the details on the shoulders

All the photos and videos I've seen of this figure don't really show how impressive he looks in hand. Initially, I wasn't sure about getting him because of his weird shoulder positions, but after seeing that repositioning option and the alt mode angling option, it was an easy purchase. Great review.

Definitely my 2nd most anticipated fig in Kingdom after Beast Megs. My Kingdom Cyclonus & SS86 Scourge are just so lonely without their leader, and I’m glad that he turned out so well and many fig collectors feel the same way. That I still have to wait a couple months to get my own copy is bad comedy.

Second, I am huge fan of the Titans Return Galvatron but gotta admit they did a good job with Kingdom's Galvatron by making him more cartoon alike and a better job with the rear part of his cannon mode. It looks odd as heck but beats what they did with TR Galva..
Yeah I'm glad I skipped out on that Titian Master Galvatron a few years back, this is the closest we are going to get to a official 'masterpiece' Galvatron for a long while until Takara announces one five years from now.

Yep, you got the one with the misassembled shoulders. It is a great looking figure, and it's definitely better the the TR version, but this really highlights the increasing price/decreasing size of the toys. Here we have a Leader figure that is the same size as the previous Voyager version.....for double the price.

Wow, turning the shoulders upside down really does fix my main issue with the figure (just from seeing it in pictures 'n stuff, mind you): how low the shoulders sit by default. Hopefully some company makes some filler pegs for those rivet holes, but even then, just knowing about that option is very helpful. Thanks Emgo!

What you said about this Galvatron shipping early from BBTS is very much like what happened to me with my SH Figuatrs Goku (base form) figure. That figure's on pre-order for September, but for whatever reason they shipped it out to me early and I now own it. Weird, but cool. lol
I only came for the precious comparison. It is amazing how close they’ve gotten these non-MP figures to the g1 bible character models. I have Cyclonus but I have passed up on most of these War for Cybertron guys in anticipation of the SS86 retools so I hope my gamble pays off.
First you two let Scourge and Starscream steal one of Trypticon's eyes. And then you two allowed Astrotrain to be used as their escape vehicle. Galvatron seems very impressive. I could do without the battle damage though. I will say this too: I love the scaling between the figures but for $50 he should have come with his own blast effects.
Good news. Transformers Legacy is re-releasing this figure without the battle damage. I’m not crazy about battle damage either. I wouldn’t mind if Kup had it since he’s “old” but in the movie and seasons 3 and 4, Galvatron is a brand new robot created by Unicron. He should be clean.
Transformers Kingdom was an amazing show. The best chapter for war for cybertron by far. They way how they added galvatron and nemesis prime into the timeline and how starscream’s new connection with unicron is genius. Emgo, i highly recommend Kingdom on Netflix if u already haven’t watched it already. Great review man👍🏽😁
I haven’t been this excited for a Galvatron figure in quite a while. I think the last time I was was titans return and yes that figure is very flawed but it’s definitely one of my guilty pleasures in my collection. This guy is definitely superior though and he’ll look even better once I do the shoulder fix.
Dude, just had mine arrive yesterday. The head, man, I’m STUCK trying to tuck it in when transforming to gun mode! I hate it when they just rely on the elasticity of the plastic itself to transform! Any ideas? Maybe shave it down a bit?
1:56 The treads actually tilt in a bit further, which will allow the front supports to flare further outward and allow the rear wheels to sit flush with the ground so it rolls properly. Also, I had the same experience with BBTS: was on preorder and expecting September arrival; suddenly shipment notice appears in email, and BAM, he’s at my front door. He looks better in person: absolutely stellar paint apps, tight joints, and by far the best version of him in the main line. The barrel is a bit colossal in bot mode, but if plugged into the bicep port, it works decently enough.
Already commented on the JTI video: some of these have a burr on the tab behind the neck/ collar that might prevent folding the head in all the way. Just look closely for the burr and cut/ shave or sand it off with fine grain sandpaper.
One interesting thing that I noticed is that if you turn the shoulders around, you have the rivet staring at you, and you can plug the cannon into the rivet's hole to put the cannon on the top if you want. I actually have my copy like that.
IMO, this new Galvatron still looks off. Titans return Galvatron isn't great but looks better proportioned. Gonna stick with my unique toys mania king as my voyager scale Galvatron for now, till something better comes along.
They could change the legs just a bit and as a fin on the arms and we could have one of the coolest spaceship modes, with a giant engine/thruster on the back
If they would have slimmed him down a bit and not added those damage paint apps he would have been almost perfect. Hopefully studio series 86 line will do some retooling.
The world needs more Galvatron. There’s not enough of Galvatron to be handled. I must get my hands on this figure added to my collection as soon as possible.
He looks good, mine should be arriving from BBTS today. I actually prefer the more blueish-purple the TR Galvatron is but otherwise this looks like a total improvement. Once I paint his chin and take off that dumb "battle damage" paint he'll look pretty good. Now to wait for the inevitable GenSelects recolor in the G1 toy/Marvel comic colors, which is my jam because Marvel Galvatron was a BEAST.
When you reveal the card I didn't know that it was a sticker because I have arcee from Transformers Kingdom, so I take the card and behind of it was a crashing decepticon ark 🔥🔥🔥
There's a risky fix you can do by misassembling and reassembling the arms so the smooth part of the shoulder is up while the proper front of the shoulder is facing forward as it should be
Is there anywhere to see instructions on how to do it? I want the shoulders raised, but I have a feeling those metal pins are going to be a little jarring.
Definitely excited to get mine in hopefully October (and not earlier so I don't break bank paying for him and Rodimus together) Overall, a pretty good upgrade. I still prefer the proportions of his TR self (looking taller than wider, not helped by the "natural" way the shoulders here were assembled) and the concept (even if not execution) of a jet mode, and the bigger gun. Plus, unless we get a recolored repackaging, I sorta prefer that the Legends Galvatron was bluish (even if too bright) since this is more Season 3 colors than movie. Cannon mode is much nicer looking though, and the double Revenge guns are neat. Better head for sure!
If this thing had a light up feature in cannon mode it would be a home run for me. I miss light up features and electronics for certain figures and they would have made this release special. IMO

The "3rd mode" reminds me of Soundwave's light stealth mode with a cannon attached.

They could change the legs just a bit and as a fin on the arms and we could have one of the coolest spaceship modes, with a giant engine/thruster on the back

If they would have slimmed him down a bit and not added those damage paint apps he would have been almost perfect. Hopefully studio series 86 line will do some retooling.

He looks good, mine should be arriving from BBTS today. I actually prefer the more blueish-purple the TR Galvatron is but otherwise this looks like a total improvement. Once I paint his chin and take off that dumb "battle damage" paint he'll look pretty good. Now to wait for the inevitable GenSelects recolor in the G1 toy/Marvel comic colors, which is my jam because Marvel Galvatron was a BEAST.

When you reveal the card I didn't know that it was a sticker because I have arcee from Transformers Kingdom, so I take the card and behind of it was a crashing decepticon ark 🔥🔥🔥

There's a risky fix you can do by misassembling and reassembling the arms so the smooth part of the shoulder is up while the proper front of the shoulder is facing forward as it should be
Is there anywhere to see instructions on how to do it? I want the shoulders raised, but I have a feeling those metal pins are going to be a little jarring.
Definitely excited to get mine in hopefully October (and not earlier so I don't break bank paying for him and Rodimus together)
Overall, a pretty good upgrade. I still prefer the proportions of his TR self (looking taller than wider, not helped by the "natural" way the shoulders here were assembled) and the concept (even if not execution) of a jet mode, and the bigger gun. Plus, unless we get a recolored repackaging, I sorta prefer that the Legends Galvatron was bluish (even if too bright) since this is more Season 3 colors than movie.
Cannon mode is much nicer looking though, and the double Revenge guns are neat.
Better head for sure!
If this thing had a light up feature in cannon mode it would be a home run for me. I miss light up features and electronics for certain figures and they would have made this release special. IMO
