We had an original mold deluxe class Orion Pax during Generations Thrilling 30 line.
Technically the Siege Optimus Prime toy counts as an Orion Pax figure (he retains his body in the Earthrise cartoon after Megs rips the Matrix off of him) , as well as the core robot of the Leader Class Prime (his body as Orion Pax in the new IDW comics)
Probably like a wfc Orion Pax, since the power of the primes Orion combined with the trailer we need a updated version
I kinda like how both Rodimus and Galvatron seem a little more bulked up this time around, definitely gives the vibe they are upgraded versions of our previous leaders. Great video! I was skeptical about this guy being commander class…. But yeah, I’m getting it….
Rodimus was a sucessor that to be quite honest might have worked better if he wasn't introduced in the move as hot rod and had a few episodes in season two in gen one.

Random thought: In Japan, Headmasters and Godmasters (what they call Powermasters) combine with exo-suits/armors called TransTectors. A lot of tokusatsu, especially Showa- and Heisei-era Super Sentai, refered to armor-based power-ups as "-tectors". Would Prime armors/power-ups be classified as "Prime-Tectors"?
So is Masterforce really a Super Sentai/Transformers crossover masquerading as a Transformers show?

Price of this thing considered I definitely wouldn't call this the best. The trailer is meh in my opinion. Power of the Primes is my favorite Hot Rod/Rodimus still.
Best if you value cartoon accuracy above all.
Sure he may not be worth the money due to size and accessories when compared to previous commanders but hes pretty much an actual masterpiece. Everything is just almost perfect. I'll definitely get him on discount since it's very common in my area

5 year old me will be happy once I have this. This is a masterpiece quality toy. What toke Hasbro so long to make toys like this?
Figures with this level of quality cost more to produce, making them more expensive and hard to sell.
I guess that Hasbro noticed that for years fans had no problem spending lots of money importing Master Piece figures and Third Party figures, that it was not a temporal trend and decided to raise the quality of the figures at the cost of making them smaller.
I love effects parts, absolutely love em.
Edit: it was in Season 4, the Ultimate Weapon when Vortex says about how their fumes are disgustingly clean.
But I swear there’s a line in G1 saying how Autobot fumes are like eco friendly so the black smoke is either a smoke screen or he needs to see a doctor.
I think grey translucent like Bluestresk would of worked a bit better.
Lol he needs to see First Aid for a check-up. Yes, there was an episode where Magnus, RP, Spike , & Daniel were trying to sneak into Trypticon but the Decepticon knew they were Autobots because of their pure gas emissions.
Then use them as arm blades in robot mode since it kinda works
Maybe it's holographic smoke so Rodimus can fit in with the Earth vehicles

The black effects actually give me more of a blade feel in robot mode. Rodimus is a melee master
Transformation is pretty much Masterpiece complexity. I don't pay much attention to mainline toys but I may just go looking for this myself.

I just got mine today! Nowhe's in hand, I see why he was more expensive. An AWESOME figure, great detail and lots of vibrant paint. Some things don't tab together very well, but it's still awesome

I really love this figure despite a few issues it's freaking awesome. Also I honestly believe Galvatron was sincere about starting a new faction.
The sword is "The Sword of Primus" from the UK comics. Rodimus had the option of a sword or shield, he choose sword.
This figure is basically a masterpiece
It's more master piece than the actual masterpiece rodimus prime.
I've noticed that they've incorporated elaborate arm/shoulder transformations on the past few Hot Rod / Rodimus figures. It always feels very reminiscent of that one scene in the original animated movie where Rod throws Daniel into the air and transforms. Personally I love it. I remember being disappointed as a kid with the G1 figure because it didn't have that as part of the transformation. I often wonder if they have been doing it intentionally just because of that scene.
They are, MP Hot Rod (V2) and both SS Hot Rod and Kingdom Rodimus were all designed by the same guy and he uses the "lookout mountain" scene as the base for his transformations.
I certainly don't want this to become a thing but the idea of taking Hot Rod/Rodimus and putting him into the next price bracket but allow more budget to be used on him was a great choice because they do feel semi premium with the design work they had done to them.
That Rodimus is so amazing i totally loved that commander class figure!
No faux chest!! Woooo! Finally! Also, Emgo, look closely. The back of Rodimus' and Galvatron's Matrix is a different mold than the ones that comes with SS86 Hot Rod, and ER Optimus Prime. The port on the back is different. Because normally, it is bloosh compatible.

Rodimus Prime comes inside a closed box package in his alt mode which is a race car or a winnebago that he has black forelegs instead of purple. You can always repaint him with paint pens. (Red, orange, yellow, silver, black and purple.)
Only thing killing it for me is the pipes having that cut in them. Other than that I like it.
Amazing figure! Anyone else feels like hasbro may re-release this figure without the trailer in the studio series line at leader pricing😂? And they werent they should.
Not sure if it's been mentioned, but you can use the blast effects from Studio 86 Hot Rod on Rodimus' wrist/arm guns, they look a lot better then the black exhaust ones.

Nice figure, looks good, transforms nicely but we all know Rodimus Prime is just the Lt Falcon of the Transformers universe...
Given BBTS got a stock of Galvatrons a bit early (mine arrives tomorrow, 6/9, would've been sooner but I waited for more to come in for my Pile of Loot), maybe we'll get lucky and they'll get in some Roddies early, Eagerly anticipating this one!
That arm wheel trick is _super_ nifty. Don't think I've ever seen a transformation gimmick quite like it.
The robot mode honestly looks good, I just wish he was a bit taller, maybe Galvatron's size. And I'm still of the opinion that branding this as Commander class is a bit of a stretch tbh

Those smoke effects when used in robot modes actually kinda look semi-convincing as wrist blades. Not an advertised use or super practical, but it's a fun option if you want a different way to display him. I probably will

Apparently there is an alt for the Dinobot card floating around that portrays him as a prime.
The dead prime is a separate card I believe it’s on the Optimus Prime card itself

The Rodimus Prime trailer section to me was the closest we've had to the G1 Optimus and Magnus trailers in terms of look, feel and quality (for mainstream release) I would love earthrise Optimus and Magnus to get new trailers on this level.
I managed to fit everything inside the trailer. I did what Emgo did with the tray and then I stored the largest bloosh and the gun in the trailer sitting by the door inside and then the rest of the bloosh inside the little compartment at the top. Everything can fit inside the trailer and it closes perfectly.

I had “The Touch” blasting inside my head the entire time I was fiddling with this guy. After I transformed him from car to robot for the first time, I couldn’t help it; I just exclaimed “WOW”. It just slipped out. It was involuntary. I’ve not had a reaction like that to playing with a Transformer in a LONG time. Srsly: WOW. 😍😍😍

I can not tell you how excited I am for this one! I have wanted a good Rodimus Prime for the longest time! He was one of my very first G1 toys (hey, I'm a 1983 born kid... just having a Y1 Hoist makes me happy!), and he's awesome...I mean, he's about as movie / show accurate as we've ever seen!
Is no one gonna talk about how smoothly he did power of the primes hot rod and rodimus like it was nothing
