You ever coming to the Detroit area let me know. You have been my favorite pro since I was young. I’m 44 now and you’re still my favorite maximum bob!!
This is why the VLS layout system is better. Even with the same drill angle and pin distance, the PSA is clearly closer to your PAP on the pin down ball which is what’s faking you out. The reason it’s picking up earlier is the shorter PSA to PAP distance, not the fact that it’s pin down.
Ok after seeing the video i'm utterly surprised that the pin down (higher val angle) was earlier, kinda blows my mind as I always thought higher val causes less flare (as happened) meaning it should store more energy for the back end and pick up a little later.
@@eXploital yeah, the PSA is always in the thumb or in between two fingers if you're no thumber (PSA is the largest hole in a symmetrical core). So the decreased flare from the giant VAL angle would cause it to go longer and have a longer hook window. (For a symmetrical core.)
I don’t see it burn up. It went longer. I can see why but the breakpoint was later. Kept my breakpoint a bit left, but also was a straighter angle to the spot.
I am so confused...I would think the pin down increases the RG and lowers the diff...I don't know if the increases backend on the pin down is just energy retention?
Um, no I didn’t. And I will prove it. Picture coming tomorrow. Geometry with angles and length of sides show otherwise. SAS proof from 8th grade will show.

@@RobertSmith-dk1yx only thing I could think of is pin down ups rg, therefore slightly more saved energy, hence more bump off the spot with a solid cover, whereas the pin up was already expending more energy in the midlane
Love your ball reviews, always get an honest take on the balls you review! Plus the layout talk is a bonus!
Robert Smith Bowling, can't wait to see what you'll create next
First! My idol for the past 20 years.
Keep posting bombs. Thanks!
Didn't know you had a channel! You're my favorite bowler. Always an inspiration. :)
You've been my hero since you first came across bowling. Nice to meet you

Can't wait to see you back in Greeley and hear some more of them old tour stories. First one of on me my friend.
Love Hammer monster asymm line ever since the Obsession. Great review, man. You made that ball look sexy.
Great ball view! This should complement my effect.
Sure hope to see you back on the PBA senior tour again and this time take down some titles
日本語で失礼します。

Honestly, they both get you to the desired PIN and MB position to be honest, but PSA to PAP distance is definitely more clear cut.
@@SuperFatPainterMan81 exactly, two different ways of describing the same thing. There's a spreadsheet out there to convert between the two.
The best reviews!!
So big rob! Have you happened to review the limited effect yet?
I posted a short video to show the MB and my axis were exactly 6 inches away on both pure envys. Hope it downloads.
RS you are amazing great great bowler
Ball is phenomenal Big Rob and I sent you a message btw to your FB Messenger 👍🏾

Mass bias is still closer to his PAP so the ball should start up slightly earlier. It’ll cross the pin to spin line faster on the pin down layout.
@@gattsgodai3 thanks for the detailed explanation!
I guess it mostly applies to sym balls unless the MB is the same distance from the PAP?

@@gattsgodai3no it’s not. Will show tomorrow.
@@RobertSmith-dk1yx PSA not in thumb for a symmetrical core?
I thought as well as you did that having the mb center or left of mb would be less hooking. But man Robert I think it’s early
I have envy your extreme envy and have the envy pearl and the black widow ghost would that fit in my arsenal or the effect asking for opinions
Wonder if the pin down ends up being stronger from drilling the fingers more into the flip cap that's on the top of the core
What is Joel Chaffe up to? Have you seen him around. It's been about 30 years
Robert do you throw 15 or 16 pounds? If you switched from one to another how long ago?
Are you still doing your heavy pins
Do you think the pin up ball is burning up? That could be why it's more tame on the backend, compared to the pin down.
I don’t see it burn up. It went longer. I can see why but the breakpoint was later. Kept my breakpoint a bit left, but also was a straighter angle to the spot.
I think my Envy Tour Solid is 70x4x60...If I got this, I could see keeping those angles and just increasing the pin to pap
I am so confused...I would think the pin down increases the RG and lowers the diff...I don't know if the increases backend on the pin down is just energy retention?
Maximum Bob = Rev Beast 😂
Bro put the mass bias closer to the PAP on the pin down

Seems like a low flare
Man you've REALLY toned down the speed on your 10 pin shots!! You're only rolling it 28 miles an hour instead of 30😂😂😂
Can know why pro bowlers review the new balls when demonstrate why must according to your styles of throw not for amateur or begginers...?
Guys never threw women's colored bowling balls back in the 80s and 90s. They were embarresed to do so. One color guys. One color
I am so confused...I would think the pin down increases the RG and lowers the diff...I don't know if the increases backend on the pin down is just energy retention?
I was confused also. Maybe it’s an asymmetrical thing. And symmetrical acts like we expect. Let you know when I know.
