- Unboxing + Layout + Drilling of the new Hammer Pure Envy.
I hope ASMR fans really enjoy watching the process of how bowling balls are drilled and worked out so they can be used on the lanes!

I knew nothing about the vent hole……….mind BLOWN! I appreciate the education 👍🏻
That ball is beautiful! I love the color combo with that satin finish. I might buy one just to put it on the shelf.
This is wonderful, enjoyed watching this. More please
Great video! Makes me want to drill my own bowling ball and take a deep dive into layouts.
Ahh yes ! The sweet sounds of ball getting drilled ! 🎉🫡
Good layout and showing drilling of that new rock thanks 🙏🏽
That was really interesting Nick,, thank U !
the 60 x 5 x 20 coming to fruition
Thanks Nick. That was very good.
@@Shamrock_Sammy you’re welcome! Thanks for joining in the watch party!
Didnt know how vent holes work until now. Thx
Here to help!
These are awesome BrunsNick!
@@scottshiira6551 I filmed a bunch this round! I figure why not since they’re easy to edit and everyone gets to see the process and ask questions if they need to.
@@brunsnick Looking forward to watching them and your upcoming show with Phil in a few minutes
Can't wait
Hey, Nick. I loved getting a peak into how you drill your equipment. Question, I'm working on getting a set-up going for at-home drilling. Any chance you'd consider doing a video on some ins and outs for beginners on drilling your own equipment? Maybe there wouldn't be enough of an audience there to make it worth your while, so no worries if it's not.
Nice idea, but I don’t think I want to encourage novices to try and drill their own stuff at home. Takes training to do it right.
@@brunsnick that's a fair point. I'm not one to be deterred from a challenge, and I've got plenty of old balls to practice sinking holes into. Wish me luck. 🙃
That is definitely a four-inch gap between the DOT and the CG.
Wow, i have drilled many balls, i have never done epoxy like that in the thumb hole for a switch thumb, i can see you have drilled 100's. That was fast and very clean, with no stuff on that ball cover, sometimes that hard to do.
With Ultimate thumbs, epoxy is suggested and you can use as much as you’d like. I’ll never have a sleeve come out.
My two niche worlds are colliding 😳
i really wonder how pro shop operators align their customers fingers for max performance on their balls.....
Hmm, looks suspiciously like a Proton Physix .. just say'n 🤣
What would be equivalent to an old hammer sharp blade? Mine cracked
@@blueoval951 not sure. Before my time with Hammer.
I see so many people clamp the ball down prior to drilling. I almost expected the ball to do something wild and free. Have you ever had one get away from you?
No never. 20-30+ psi of vacuum
Hi there nick question for ya!! How come your two finger holes are at such an angle? What is the purpose of that? I’ve only ever seen the two fingers drilled next to each even with one another.

@@brunsnick oh ok ya I saw ur video with Sarah on that sarge set up. I have the mesmerize and extreme envy and harsh reality solid and I put a 1000 surface on them because where I bowl they are heavily oiled especially at the start of the house . With that being said do think getting this new hammer is needed? I feel like I’ve bought to many heavy oiled balls and always get curious.
@@thetravelingirishman4372 I think you’re set up top between Mesmerize and Extreme. Should look at some next step down gear that’s shiny (can always dull it later if needed)
@@brunsnick ya I’ve got those too. I have the hammer effect,Hammer black widow toxin and those balls don’t work at this house I bowl at. They have so much oil that’s why I have to dull down those heavy oiled balls I mentioned earlier. I’m a low rev rate player so when there’s that much oil I even have to change balls and sometimes throw all three one for each game then get home clean and resurface again for the next night. I love the mesmerize and harsh reality they are drilled differently one to go down the lane further and the mesmerize to hook earlier that ball is usually my starter for the night then the harsh reality or sometimes the extreme envy.
Hey Nick, what is the "vent hole" ?? .. I have never seen that before. Is that legal? .. if so, why don't my bowling balls have vent holes? .. and do I need one?
Yes it’s legal. Vent hole vents air to allow for snug fit without popping.
@@brunsnick - Excellent, good to know. But don't you like that popping sound? 🤣
@@squidly2112 I'm sure you'll love the popping sound as it pops your finger out of place on the release when it sticks without the vent hole lmao
@@onuxtigris3392 - you realize I was joking, right?
Hey, what's a good layout, 4 1/2× 7/8 up right hand throw mid 14 mph
That’s a good question for your pro shop who is familiar with your game.
@brunsnick ok thx I'll get In touch with him
I’m totally ignorant about this. Are vent holes legal?
Yes
Yes 100% allowed one in every gripping hole
Hi Nick. I live in the Muskegon area and recently got back into bowling on a league. When I did I got 4 new widow balls, the only problem is the pro shop where I got them from did not measure my hand for the layout. They went off of the layout from my old ball that I bought when I was 20, and I am 48 now. I know this is probably an issue and was wondering if you could possibly help with it?
@@johngerman1197 I cannot personally help sorry. The good news is you can be refit and adjusted if needed. Hands do change over time and yours is no exception. Have you thrown them yet?
I have thrown them. I just don't feel like I am coming out of the ball correctly, when I do come out of them correctly ball would react how I expect. For league 2 years ago I averaged 185 for the season, just feel it could be better if the ball came off of my hand more consistently.
Explain it to me like I’m a three-year-old lol
@@thomastravers5421 I’m going to draw lines on a ball then put holes in the ball with a giant machine while not saying a word.
@@brunsnick blahaahahh. That totally made sense…. Thank you
