I’m an ex-Porsche technician, 928, highest quality Porsche ever, love them, they’re brilliant. This one has a nice spec, sports seats & sound package Couple of points, water pump & timing belts have to be changed ASAP, especially in a car that’s been standing. The 928 has the longest timing belt ever put on a car, deteriorates rapidly if the car isn’t used. The rear silencer is wrong, all 928’s had twin outlets.
Detail Dan, you did a fine job cleaning this beauty. A word of advice from a former owner, check the timming belt. It's the longest in any car made and will damage the engine if it breaks, same goes for the 944 you mentioned. Good luck with the 928 and take good care of it.
FYI This 16 valve engine is non interference engine so if the timing belt break it will not damage the engine, only the 928s4 with 32 valve is an interference engine and it will damage the engine
Their manuals were trash!! The synchro’s were ALWAYS going bad - Porsche damn near over-developed everything else on this car but their manual transmissions were nothing but pure garbage!!
How was it ruined exactly.. Do you see how does it look at the end... Guy bought a prestine porsche 928 most likely at massive discount that required nothing..
The 928 was and still is one of my favorite Porsche. I heard you say something about a couple of 944's that would be my second favorite Porsche. Treat them well the are the next generation "Got to have" collectibles.
@bluerazor7049 i honestly didn't like it, and now idk what it is i think it looks really nice and has me excited to drive it haha. The V8 is the Cherry on Top 💕
Looks awesome! Hope the mice didn’t chew any wiring.! Be sure to clean all ground points and contacts in the fuse/relay panel. Replace any fuel lines not recently replaced. 🔥
I had a 88 944 Turbo S in 1990 , that Red 928 was my dream car at this time along with the BMW M6 and the 911 Turbo Carrera ... Heck they are still my deam cars ! :)
@jamesphilip6737 my audio was cut out so didn't get to explain. That was a Iron Remover by Pro Wax called Reactive. It's helps clear all contamination off the paint when washing and clay baring making the paint super smooth for polishing 🔥
Is it a Euro version because the 1985 U. S version has 5.0 liter 32 valve engines. The Euro version have a square red light near the license plate so this looks like a 1984 with 240 HP.
nice guards 928s!!! I love transaxle cars almost as much as I love turbo 911's. I really love the s4 or the 951's. both great drivers cars and at the time the 951 handled better than any 911 and would now hang with mid h2o gt cars. I was called a detailer but I'm certainly not the caliber of you and other on YT. I ran a get ready dept. and several dealerships and reconned cars but this was mid '90's and a service special full recons the said .$89.95. I've always had customers outside a dealer and I curate my brothers very low mile '97 993 turbo in guards. no one else has done any exterior anything since 03 or 05 when he bought it. I got it to never not win 1st place when we've entered in our PCA events or annual Hershey Porsche only swap concourse but again I use basic stuff. I have a full set of chemicals and supplies only used on this car and I'm not familiar with the brushes I see you use for interior. the round bristle type. is that horse-hair like I was using long ago or something new. I use a brush similar on the outside around lights , window trim and handle/badges but the bristles are so soft I don't think it would agitate much on a polymer center console or leather dash. what should I use? also we got it with wax residue on the furry sunroof seal. its been on there for at least 18 years but all 18 covered in garage and driven maybe 1 or 2 times 8 months a year. should I just try to replace or could that be cleaned and what product would you suggest. I don't want you to give trade secrets away this feeds you and your family but any help id be very grateful for. what are you doing with that redneck German Camaro clone??? cheers
Interesting video. Tell me, I'm curious. Why do you do the outside, then move into the interior? When I detail a vehicle, after washing it all, I scrub all the interior first, then move to the exterior. It gives the interior chance to dry, and ensures that muck from the interior doesn't contaminate the exterior.
My parents ( mums car ) had a 928 S4 Cup 1994. $350 K ( aus ) Amazing auto then Incredible car even now. Stuttgart created Masterpieces during this period.

I think that looks like it’s automatic and I drove my buddy in it and we were doing 105 miles an hour in second gear in there’s three more gears left. That thing would do 180 190 that is one awesome Porsche. I hope it runs take care merry Christmas. Have a good weekend.
Unfortunately, the Federal Exhaust Gas Emissions Ban Ordinance BABVVO and the Federal Transport Tourism Emission Restriction Ordinance TEBBVO will soon ban exhaust emissions and transport tourism emissions nationwide!! In Switzerland they have a Heschlabuvv law that banns all gas cars from public mountain passes.
These are perfect for swapping the LS motor from a modern Corvette. The motor mounts and everything can be sourced by hunting down a fellow named Tom Egan or contacting Renegade Motoring or Renegade Motors. I believe he ended up with close to three times the HP and torque that the Porsche drivetrain came with.
3:54 You have the two-valve engine! Only a little less performance than the four-valve and no fear of instant engine destruction if the toothed belt slips.
Who’s the U-boat commander? Sorry I can’t see a 928 without thinking of the movie Risky Business. Too bad you weren’t around to help get Tom Cruise out of his spot after he sank his parents 928. Congrats on the addition to your fleet!
@@robsweekendgarage i love my classic movies, but Risky Business is one I still have never seen! I want to now after learning about this car 👀 i appreciate it 🙏

This car hasn't been loved very much up to now, hope he will find a good home with someone who takes care! I find it brave that you'll spray the red paint with a lot of (pre?)cleaners. Using wrong stuff often turned red into white paint. Also the black aluminium trimlines lost theire color when polishing them. Also poor that a vehicle with already an historical plate (2025) is found in the woods. Or how is that working in the USA? I would love to know !❤
Some people shouldn't be allowed to buy fine cars, I would never let any car sit in a field for 2 yrs. Once mice get into it it is ruined for me, no matter how well you clean it you can't get everywhere, it's disgusting. Plus all the damage they can do to wiring etc. that can be very difficult and expensive to repair. If you don't want to use the car just sell it to someone who will, I will never understand. I used to own one of these fine cars and still regret selling it.
Fusebox/relay wiring on those is a nighmare to repair. Imagine having to volt drop test & repair dozens of rodent damaged wires, with very little access. Still a beautiful car.
You lucked out. It didn't start due to the air intake blocked.. i did a similar cleaning but the mouse had chewed through a sensor wire. Mechanic found it and it's running again.

Hello from Siesta Key Florida
The Porsche is beautiful, not only did it start but it moved under its own power… That is a total win!
I was 28 yo in 1989 and test drove a 1989 928 S4. I couldn't afford one but I was highly impressed with these cars- had the drive of my life!
Very satisfying to see a deep refreshed 928😊🎉 the 944s have an inline4 wich in fact half of the V8 of the 928
