Thank you so much. It was amazing. I have since moved back to an apartment near the Thames. Boatlife was amazing while it lasted ;) You will need a Widebeam canal map, but yes in principle you can travel a fair amount of the canal and river network in southern England. I can't remember where we got our map, but if I manage to dig it out, I will let you know :)

Hello Glenn, it depends where you want to get to, I guess. Although, I do agree with you and if I bought a boat again I would buy a narrowboat. Although, the Dutch Barges look very cool also :)

Yes you do need to secure the boat and not leave valuables inside her if you are gone for a few weeks. We used to have someone boat-sit when we were on holidays xx
