While I'm not advocating for conquistadors, I love this theme and wish publishers recognized they're making all games sterile and historically inaccurate (bring the slave back to Libertalia!) This review was all content, no bollocks... Only place you can find this type of review. Keep it up.
Looks decent this one. The box does look shit, and you're right that I would normally see the box and theme and swerve it, but I am always open to having my mind changed. They could easily reskin this as a moon/mars colony type thing, instead of the small pox genocide theme that it currently has, but whatever.
If I can find it cheap sure but all I can find now is price around $60 to $110 for that price I would like better looking tiles it might be the cam or my phone but I can see cross hatching on those tiles there cheaply made
People can play whatever games they like, and people can be grossed out by whatever games are gross to them. Games should just be somewhere the person spending time “in” them wants to be. Businesses will make decisions by where the money is, since that’s how they figure out what’s gross or not to them. I’m pretty sure the game I’m working on is going to get a lot of hate. That’s not at all why I feel passionate about creating it, and my shoulders are already limbered up for shrugging at people. Anyway, I watch the channel to hear straightforward opinions instead of a marketing spiel, and if I disagree on things now and again, so be it. Still going to watch.
Funny that this box will not be reprinted. So I may actually profit from the woke insanity. SM acknowledges the theme btw inside the box. Gameplay is very satisfying.
It's ok if you play a war game that you have to kill the other's people to win but it's not OK to play a game about colonization 🫣. I really like the strategic depth of this game. The iconography might be hard to read but with the aid it's ok. My only problem with the game is that happiness icon is creepy.
Once again, quite entertaining AND informative. Bravo.
What a coincidence, I literally had this arrive on my doorstep yesterday morning (imported from Italy!).
