For the performance nerds like myself. In 1966, this car was advertised as having 265 hp @ 4400 rpm, and 401 ft-lb of torque @ 2600 rpm, with a Holley 2 barrel. That's plenty of torque to make this car a super fun street cruiser.

I graduated hs with a fellow that drove a ‘66 to school. His two older brothers drove it as well, so it was a hand me down through that family. That car was slick as a mink but dog gone, it had a stinking Chevy 454 in it with a 400 turbo transmission. Makes me sick to my stomach to think back how nice that car was and for his daddy to defile it like that lol.

Brings back some good memories when I was a sophomore in highschool back in 1984 I owned a 1967 Ford Fairlane 2 door with a 390 V8 I drove it to a girl's house one night and missed her driveway and went off the road culvert and the car busted in the middle left it at her house and never got back to it for over a week. Well her dad didn't care for me much and before I could get back over there to get it out of there driveway her dad called a salvage yard. Basically the car was gone for good 😢😢

Wow man... choice year... I mean each of the years of the 60's are great years for Fords eh? :-) I'm not lying by saying that and you know better than most that is true for sure. Ya the 66 Fairlane... phew.. man that car with a big block. Just so different from year to year but each year of the Fairlane models are worth keeping.... Dang. I'd love to have one of these lol Beautiful. Be a good thing if he doesn't mind putting the time in to pop that motor, ring it then hone the walls with a dingle ball honer... Lap the valves then if he wants... at least check the bearings... inspect them and if bad, roll in some new ones and then shoestring polish the crank... lot of free time ate up but really not much money really? His Grandad probably has that stuff in a box already and was planning to do it before he run out of steam [sadly RIP]. Love the car though. Stroke that 390 lol Get it up to or beyond 427 at any rate lol

that should be a Z-code 390, 300hp. The 4100 is the clue. There was an H-code 2 barrel at 265hp, and the S-code 390GT was 335hp (pretty strong 390). It appears to be a Fairlane 500. It'll be happier with the 4100 rebuilt and back on the car.
