    That is a unique car and I hate to see it destroyed! it would certainly make a good family cruiser IF the frame can be safely repaired.

    I have always loved those breezeway Mercury's. When I was a kid until I was about 6 or 7 a neighbor a block away had one and I used to just stare down the street to look at it and dream about owning it. Here it is 45 plus years later and I still dream of owning one but know it will remain nothing more than a dream because I am now disabled and on SSI and the money for such dreams just isn't there, but at least videos showing them are available for me to watch which is the next best thing.

    My wife's uncle had one and he was driving down the interstate when a car along side him was honking waving and pointing at his car. Glanced in the mirror and his two boys were nsitting outside the window with their legs on the back of the seat!

    With the rust, the idea of using the engine/trans in a different vehicle(s) would get my vote. That 390 would be great in one of the 60’s Fairlanes!

  • @tonylashmit2613
    @tonylashmit2613 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Loves the lines of that car, never seen one before. Hate to see the drive train pulled, ya she would take a lot of work but it deserves a frame off restore so more people can see and enjoy her.
    Thanks for another fun video Reverand.

    I was just thinking the same thing, put the 390 in Puddin! Do it Rev, swap engines in both vehicles brother! I’d love to see y’all do it! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 My friend swapped his 302 out of his 79 F150 and put a 390 in the 79 and with just a two barrel carburetor it would squall the tires in a heartbeat Rev! Only thing was you need to swap the radiator also because my friend learned the radiator on the 302 couldn’t keep up with the 390! Just saying my friend! After we swapped the radiator he had no problem! Yeah it looks like the frame is rotten brother, I imagine it’s rusted everywhere along the frame too! Save that 390 Rev for ole Puddin! 👌🏻👍🏼👍🏼

    Good evening guys. I believe my first subscription was Derek, he certainly is a hard-working man and deserves a break. That 390 does sound pretty tight, I don't think it's a bad idea dropping it in puddin. You guys are always a joy to watch and keep up the great videos. May God be with you and your family Rev✌️🇺🇲

  • @garysimonson9593
    @garysimonson9593 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    390 sounds healthy. Go for it, give Puddin that 266 hp 390 2v Torque is good to have in a truck. Put the 302 in mothballs until you decide where it goes.... like a Falcon. :) Those '65-68 full size Fords and Mercs had lots of frame rust trouble, this one sitting in the dirt about guaranteed it. Finding a good replacement used frame takes some looking.

    When I was a kid one of my friends, Don, well, his father had a breezeway Mercury. It was already an older car even then, but in those days, a ten year old car was ancient. Well, he gave all of us boys a ride to the dairy queen or park or something and we all loved riding in the back seat with that back window down. That is what I think of when I see those cars.

Now you could go on and flip it if you want. With those frame issues. Think I would. Let it move to a new home. Or yes the engine would be put to good use. 💯👍👊 Blessings 🙏🏻

Also very good get up running too and any rebuilt motor or transmission shop do wonders in rebuilt Rev ! Yes be excellent motor & transmission for Puddin pickup truck and lots power too! I know 390 can do had one my first tow truck 1972 Ford F350 extended cab was 390 4 V with 4 barrel carb with hand choke cable knob in dash and also daul exhaust, with rare Column Shifter Manual transmission 4 speed type and then put 4×4 also 1968 International 1 ton Eaton D18 Creeper 4speed transmission with Bow Low First gear! Got 15 on highway and 10 local highway under 60 mph speed!

    It was Nov 1978. I got home to Garner, Ark from USAF Basic and Tech schools, on my way to Ohio. I paid $65 for a 63 Monterey from a feller named Big Red. He had named the old girl Nezzie-belle. He gave me a carburetor float to put in it. I did, and I drove that car to Dayton. It used 2 quarts of oil per tank of gas. The heater was broke. I like to have froze. But I made it. I gave her away and bought a brand new 1979 Pinto. 😂

    A long time ago I had a big block Mopar rebuilt by a big city engine rebuilder. I complained that the colors they painted it were not the factory colors and they did not even match. For example, the intake and the valve covers and the block were three different purposes. They told me the reason was that they were painting every engine they rebuilt that season those colors for warranty reasons. So someone could not bring back an engine for warranty work that wasn't one of theirs from the warranty period. That may be why your Mercury engine is painted like Joseph's Coat.

    What youins need to do is find a short bed truck and put 390 in it. Never take a vehicle that runs good apart. Learned that the hard way. Like my pops would say if'n it's not broke don't try fixing it. Also when you going to sell me that white falcon? I wont disgrace it ima gonna improve it with a ls.

    I have been wrenching for 40 years. By FAR my favorite thing to do it paint cars. you will get great results with base/clear. Correct all defects and sand with 1000 grit before you hit it with the clear. Need a shelter over the top of the car for certain.

  • @LarryDeSilva64

    That's a shame that the frame on that Mercury Montclair Breezeway has issues. Well I guess the bad part could be welded and boxed in to make it strong again. That engine doesn't even smoke and its a good runner. It would be a shame to just scrap it. I know you would get the good engine out of it but, you have to remember there are not many of those Mercury Montclair breezeways running around. Great video thanks for sharing.

    Anytime you get a traffic ticket and you get pulled over. And you go to court to see the judge. Always ask the judge if you can be placed under advisement. What that means is they will give you a probation. Like the old man did and tell you in their jurisdiction. If you go 6 months without a moving violation, then they will take it off of your record. But that doesn't mean necessarily in a different jurisdiction. If you get a ticket there, that it will affect the ticket that you want to court for in that jurisdiction..

    The 390 in Old Pudin would be cool, the Mont Clair would be a massive project, chassis would need splicing, body mounts all of that, is it worth it, a 300 and a four speed in the Falcon would be cool, how is the Pinto, would be good with a five speed, you have a great channel David ❤ Super thanks from me, your channel is cool

    I just got to say! Happy 200 years for ur Church. She cranked-up like a dog on a Brisket.. If the creek don't rise the motor/trans
    will go into Puddin's truck just fine. Sho-Nuff!

    Did you hear about when it got so hot in Indiana back in 1930, that all the corn in the fields started popping. The cows thought it was snowing, and they all froze to death.
    My Grandpa told me all about it when I was a little kid.

    Put Puddin's engine back in it. Power wash it, clean the interior, install the back seat and door panels and drive it

    Ole 390 sounds great!, So shocked it don't have any exhaust leaks!, Will be perfect for the Truck!, I had a 1976 F100 with a 390/C6, Ended up replacing it with a 351W/AOD, Biggest mistake ever!!
