the 66 and 67 Fairlanes were great looking cars as well as great performing cars. I had a friend who bought a 66 Fairlane 390 GTA . When he had to change plugs, he jacked it up and changed the plugs from underneath. the 66 390GT was rated at 335 horsepower with a Holley 600 cfm carb. The older FE engines came with the Autolite 4100 which actually was a pretty good carburetor. In fact, I am currently driving a 65b Ford galaxie with the original 352 . It came with an autolite 4100 and dual exhausts and is rated at 250 horsepower. My first new car was a 1967 Fairlane wuth the 289 and a 3 speed stickshift. You fellers are doing a great job with a great car and having fub at the same time. That is what it is all about.

Hey REV! Got a TIP! When changing points put little pieces of T.P. Or tissue in the holes in Distributor before removing screws, /bolts… that way you have a very big less chance of them falling into distributor where you have to take it out to get them out..my dad taught me this! In that last piece they have a major mistranslation due to using the wrong word in the past tense for the one written that causes certain German listeners to have fits of laughter... Gerochen means to "smell (horrible) or reek"...while the correct word gerächt means "to avenge" (and would have fit the rhyme for the third line)... I know they didn't think of that in the 1700s...or...if the author did...to put it in for the sake of the rhyme and pray nobody notices it... If you find a Kurt Thomas Christmas Oratorio from 1958...you won't be disappointed...as I consider this as the reference recording of it... I only have 33 of this piece and the Kurt Thomas is the best... For the Handel...I refer to the 1965 Otto Klemperer (Werner's [Col. Klink's] dad) recording... This in the 72 I own of the Messiah is the one I play every year...

I always put a little bit of grease on the lobe on distributor for my point so it don't wear the tab off
They use to have a piece of cloth material that could be oiled for the same purpose..
