So I am super late to this, and I am a new to this kind of thing. But theoretically if you had your cables touching the right debug ports, would this work without soldering? Probably not (because why else would you show us you need to do it) but I am pretty sure I wont be able to get my hands on that equipment any time soon.
Always disconnect battery or power source before soldering or bringing anything that can conduct electricity between connections. Sure way to fry your 50$ game and watch if a accidental drop of soldering should touch something. I struggle with shaky hands and I fly racing drones. I have blown 2 flight controllers with my shaky hands and a stray small drop of soldering.
Thank you for posting this! Do you have any insight on finding those debug clips? I'm completely fresh, so not sure what they look like, but don't trust myself to solder lol.
Is there any preference/benefits to using the Zelda over Mario, in terms of those additional Start/Select buttons, when using Retro-Go OS? Cheers for the guide too 👍
15 minutes talking about soldering 4 wires couldve been reduced to like, a minute. And you don't say to disconnect the battery until the end of the video. This is maybe why you should plan ahead 😂

You don't need to solder, you can use alligator clips and other things , just need a contact
