I know this is nearly a 2 year old video but in this time I saw a trick on here where you can basically use an eraser or whatever but firm to the point you feel you're going to crack it, and rub it out towards the edge it does work. This is an old video, but I'm catching up while waiting for new videos. Your bottom screen is missing something. Junior shouldn't be floating in the air. Keep up the good work, Dave!
What I did with an LCD game that had screen bleed is I dismantled it, got a cotton bud, and rubbed hard on the glass so the bleed moved to the edge of the display. It too a while, but it worked, and the bleed has not returned. I see you did the same thing, it just needs a lot of work and patience to get rid of it all.

Right I've just found you and going through all your videos. Absolutely amazing and I love them. I think you are definitely onto something with screen bleed. Is it still holding up or has it reverted back?
I still have this wonderful game with several screen problems but now, looking at what u did, it encourage me to try to fix it. The only thing Is that I don't know the name of the material to replace the original screen. Can u help me with that?
The material that I replaced was a Polariser (or polarizer). Have a look on eBay for polarising/polarizing film. You may be able to find one already cut to size, but if you're comfortable, just go for one off a mobile phone or similar and cut it (it will be much cheaper). Good luck, and thanks for watching! Steve.
Hi would like to ask..where can I find the silver foil...other than eBay at inflated prices? Would like to find a big piece to cut out and it's more price friendly... appreciate the help...does the silver foil have an actual name?
It's called a silver reflector. I believe you can also use metallic silver heat transfer vinyl, although I haven't tried it. It will definitely be a cheaper option 👍

My battery cap has the same discoloration, and i cant remember ever replacing it, pretty sure it is the original. I always assumed it was made from a different plastic and thus aged differently. Cause i dont remember it being like that as a kid. Also i had the same bleeding problem in a different device. But of course, it can't be only that. It needs a special chemical, which is the liquid crystal part of Liquid Crystal Display, that changes properties when electricity is applied. I have no clue about chemistry details, but basically this liquid forms a structure that becomes opaque the more electricity is passing through, using the polarizers, and that's how the image forms. Oversimplified explanation, but enough. Ok, back to the case. It seems that the cases in which old LCD panels develop black blotches and whatnot, majority of cases, is because this liquid crystal chemical degrades overtime. It becomes another sort of chemical compound which does not behave the same way the original formula does, so it just accumulates there. I've read some people saying this could be drained somehow, but you have more chances of damaging the entire panel. It's highly dependent on case. This is why you have people saying they pushed the blotches out... their panels were probably already a tiny bit delaminated on the borders. But this blotch issue can develop even if the panel hasn't delaminated, and it's just too easy to completely destroy these panels while trying to separate it's layers. Not to mention external contamination and whatnot.
