appreciate the review! i'm checking this out as my first real watch purchase since i live near the water and love snorkeling, and the unique look caught my eye. not sure yet if i love the sheen, but otherwise awesome.
You're right about the price, the best for me is the GMW 5610-1, I think is the same watch, and like you said, just a little bit more than hundred bucks
Please note current time is not available in StopWatch, Timer and alarm modes and this is main disadvantage of G-5600 and GW-M5610, I really miss this functionality. So this watch is completely OK.
I got this watch today. I was kinda concerned about the watch having a shiny finish but it does look ok.i have 2 complaints 1. The band could have been 1 inch longer. 2. The push buttons are a little short. I have to take the watch off to go through the modes and make adjustments. It's a nice looking watch. I'm glad I have it.
Great choice. I agree, the shiny finish was a little off putting, but the rest of the color combos and display were too great to pass. I ordered a steel bezel and bracelet for this one and will give it a little makeover. Perhaps you might enjoy the same modification.
@@degenerateWA Thanks for the review, I just ordered mine. Same concern I guess regarding the sheen... any chance you'll have a video on your modded one? would like to see the process and/or end results. Thanks again
@@BayandBeyondFishing The process is very easy. Simply remove the 4 case screws at all four corners and then you have access to remove the bezel and the straps. Unfortunately the steel bezel I ordered could only fit my 5610 (module 3159) whereas this one is module 3215. The buttons on the 3215 are angled outward whereas the 3159 come more straight out. The silver lining is I now have a positive display metal 5610 which matches the rest of my GMWB5000 collection, but I still search for an aftermarket steel bezel for GWX5600 (not actively, if I come across one then I'll make sure to get it).
This is more an evolution of GWM5610 than DW5600, solar charging, digital GMT, radio controlled, very simple and funny look but on the same time very very serious and advanced timepiece (and able to withstand a nuclear blast, too) . Good video Simucom
They're roughly the same size. I can't say the dimensions exactly off the top of my head, but just off memory they are similar. Legibility is also pretty much the same. The GWX will appear clearer but i think that's just an illusion because there are more colors on the display.
That is one of the things that has me interested in this watch. The moon phase is useful too for knowing the strength of the tides as well as for night fishing which is common near here.
Not at all. Very intuitive design, however you will need to verify your longitudinal position and maybe some almanac data but that's all readily available on the internet.
@@ivrabec985 I ordered it off Amazon. But when I searched it in the search bar on the app on my phone it wouldn’t show up. I been watching this watch for a while Finally got it for $149 Amazon. Love it. The squares are my favorite.
Couldn’t wait any more and got the black and the white one today. So glad I did.
The all white version of it looks amazing too!
Yes, very clean!

I feel the same way. Loved everything about it except the glossy finish.
I love this model! I threw it on a black Nato to tone it down a bit and now it is perfect for me!
Awesome. I love squares on NATO's
Love the color scheme
Completely agree
That is a sweet looking watch!
I agree. I love the color scheme.
I got two of these and the all white version love them
Awesome, love the displays on them.
You're right about the price, the best for me is the GMW 5610-1, I think is the same watch, and like you said, just a little bit more than hundred bucks
They're slightly different as the G-Lide focuses on tide data, but both are very cool regardless🤘

The Plastic Love intro was a bop.
Is bop good?
@@degenerateWA Very good

the grid strap design is the exact grids found on the watch face of the cheaper Casio tough solar AQ S810W ❤
Very cool👍

Good video Simucom
mantap mas bro...nice👍😁
Much appreciated🤘
How do you use the USER SETTING WHEN SETTING TIDES
Does it show the tide and moon info in stopwatch mode?
Size comparison with entry level DW 5600?? Is GWX more legible?

Can I fit the gwm5610 bezel and band?
The tide graph would be handy for those that enjoy salt water fishing too Simucom.
True. Probably even more useful for those folk actually.
@@degenerateWA Definitely Simucom. A guy I used to go fishing with had a similar watch years ago.
That is one of the things that has me interested in this watch. The moon phase is useful too for knowing the strength of the tides as well as for night fishing which is common near here.
I love the color accents, but I'm not able to get past the gloss black. Back to surfing Amazon.
Completely agree. I would have preferred a more matte finish.
Can you switch the bands on this model ??
Yes you can. It's almost like squares were designed to be modded🤘
Is it possible to adjust the tide display according to where you live?
Yes, you need to set the degree of longitude of your location in the adjust mode.
@@degenerateWA OK. Does the watch take a standard casio rubber strap or a combi bracelet?
Not over priced
That's why I try to avoid bringing up price because it really does depend on the individuals comfort level and budget
is that japan or thailand made?
cool lcd display looks futuristic in the 80's
Mine is a "1JF" model so made in Japan.
@@degenerateWA These are a Japanese model but they are produced in Thailand. It will say it on the back of the case if you read it.
Hey I just ordered this watch. Is it hard to set up the moon and tide phases?

Does the tide graph always blinking
Yes
@@probablywatches oic must be annoying 😂
It's synced with the seconds, and it's to show which section of the graph you're currently in.
Not really annoying. You know what would be annoying? If it blinked AND beeped every second lol.
I just ordered one for 155.
Excellent, great choice🤘
Moonpahse?
Yes, on the upper-right corner of the display.
And it's a gloss finish compared with matte ...
Can't remember, did I say that it was matte? I don't think I did.
Gloss is top side and the bottom is matte
Good review of the watch a features none the less
@@SUBLIME849 3:38 👍
why is it so expensive??
G's will always be expensive as long as people are crazy about them.
I hope you understand that this watch was created for surfers, hence the slickery surface and moon and tide graphs you genius
Ah yes, a "slickery surface" to reduce wave drag right? LOL
