@@mikelitt5838 what content exactly? There is only one video on your channel and that doesn't seem like anything meaningful (well I might be wrong but...)
First, I want to thank you for talking so openly and casually about your experiences. I’m a straight, white, cis male, over the age of 50. So, I don’t really have the background to instantly understand a lot of things that were hidden in my younger years, and many of the people who speak on it use terms that further confuse me. I genuinely want to understand other people’s lives, because I feel like nobody should be denied the freedom to be their authentic selves. Second, I know that any pretty lady on the internet attracts comments that are meant to be sexual. This is not one of them. It is simply my opinion, and you are free to ignore it. But, I feel it needs to be said. With or without the makeup, you are an attractive woman. You come across as being genuine, and truly caring. I think this world could use a lot more people like you.
You have my kudos, as a passing trans person. You are very polite btw, and you most certainly, from my perspective, seem to come across in any way that would be inappropriate. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me, as I am fairly young and an advocate online, so a lot of those terms might be easier for me to explain. ^^;; My only request, and I always put this whenever I offer like info about this stuff, so it's not you, but my only request is that people remain polite and don't try to degrade me or my identity, which I doubt you would do, but i feel most comfortable if I prefix everything with that. Also, as an aside, I most certainly agree. Samantha is one of the best TH-camrs on here for information, especially if you are just starting out, and she, as well as some others, really check their sources and provide further rabbit holes to jump into if you want to learn more on the subject from professionals. If you would like any recommendations, I can provide a few, although I will prefix that with saying that they all have different personalities and of course, some differing view points, and because of that, I don't want to imply I follow any beliefs on certain things or that I'm trying to force them on you. Just like, tell me if you'd like them, and I'll provide a few, cause I think the variety is good, and sometimes a few will fill in the gaps of the others, if that makes any sense. :)
@@kiralonely Makes perfect sense, and thank you for offering. Yes, I would very much like to find more content creators who speak clearly about matters of gender and orientation. I’m smart enough to know that the things I was taught growing up are wrong. But, I’m way out of touch with the terminology involved in current discussions. There are so many acronyms and terms that I never heard until recently, and most creators seem to just assume that everyone watching them knows these things. I THINK I’ve figured a few out on my own, like cis. But, even those few are sometimes used in ways that confuse me. That’s why I like Samantha. She speaks in plain terms, and explains anything she suspects old fools like me might misunderstand. 😁
@@oldsoldier4209 Well, if you need any definitions or explanations, feel free to ask. I recommend Jammidodger especially, as well as some Contrapoints videos. I haven't watched many of the latter, but she describes things really in depth, although has been seen to be more opinionated at times imo, and Jammidodger has a PHD in gender studies and stuff, so he's really good about making appropriately explained videos, and explains every acronym simply, but is thorough enough for just starting out. I might recommend Sam Collins, but he is another creator that doesn't describe stuff nearly as often and is less information based than like Jammidodger or Contrapoints, and seems to more have fun with what he does and be chilled out, although often on trans topics to give opinions. At least those are some to start from, and maybe TH-cam recommendations can set you on a track from there? They're my best offers for starting out and seeking real fact based info, and less about different personalities and perspectives of trans people, but more of the science, terms, and helping spread awareness.
@@mikelitt5838 No? Some people here are apolitical or centrist? I'm personally a socdem which is a form of center-left politics. No one is that far. And also, stop spamming the same comment over and over again.

That would be good. There's one I'm iffy on. It's a movie I used to love back in the day but have since cooled significantly on now because it's very problematic. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. If you've seen it, you know why.
Agreed! I’m an Asian examining my representation in the media and I’d love to hear her opinion on movies related to transness since they’re not about trans people but it’s… drag? Trans-adjacent? Not sure how it’d be labeled. Anyways. It’s about the media’s progression on topics.
I love you and you are beautiful. Your personality is awesome In two day I’m going to be 71 yrs. old I wish I could turn back time and we could be sisters, but my time has past and and I’m emotionally helping going through this process and she is beautiful
Came here from Sam Collins recommending you, and so happy he did, because I love your energy and you seem so lovely! Watched a few of your videos (about JK etc), and you are so on point, and so good at pointing out stuff that me as a cis woman wouldn't even have noticed. I love learning, and just down to earth videos like these are so comforting, and hopefully you and your content will help so many trans individuals find their place in the world! There are so many hateful people out there, and so many gatekeepers of all of the LGBTQ, and for so long I didn't feel like associating with it because I felt like if I identified with one thing, I excluded others, mostly because there were so many misleading opinions out there. (Like omg I recently tried watching the original L Word, as apparently that is the holy grail of lesbian TV shows, but I couldn't even get through season 1 bc of all the biphobia, transphobia and just general ignorance going on...). I've struggled a lot with internalized homophobia, and uncertainty with my sexuality bc you see these prominent people of the lesbian communities spew hatred and opinions that do not resonate with me, and I'm so glad my YT and tiktok algorithm finally have given me some solid accounts to follow! That are both wholesome but also educational. Because as a cis ally there is a lot to learn, and I have ADHD, so reading long essays online is hard for me, and I always just want to get to know THE INDIVIDUAL person, regardless of gender and sexuality. So accounts like yours have become my favorites to watch. Hope you had a fun birthday, and also I realize having your name so close to your deadname can be a mix of emotions, but the name Samantha is so beautiful and really suits you! And hearing your family is as supportive as they can be, is incredible. I never grew up in a religious household, but in my country religion is more tradition than actual religious believes? So funny enough, my dad is a feminist and is the one who introduced me to that, never allowing my gender to limit me, but also accepting all and everyone regardless of skin color, religion, gender or sexuality. While my mom is traditionally more conservative? Which I find funny, as most would think the opposite. She can be very homophobic without realizing it (like microaggression type of homophobic), and doesn't understand basic needs of representation ("I get they are gay, but do they HAVE to show it publicly/on TV" like yeah mom. I've watched straight TV all my life, let me enjoy some queer entertainment for ONCE), so it's hard because if I tell her her choice of words on certain topics are not okay, she gets really offensive, and it's frustrating when you are trying to be civil about it... So I am glad you choose to show your true, authentic self online. It truly helps me realize ways to be a better ally to my "sisters", as we are all in this together. As a queer woman, I know trans women (of color, even so) were on the front lines of queer liberation. So any wlw who is transphobic really frustrates me. Sorry this got a lot longer than planned, but to sum it up: you are incredible, keep shining your incredible light and energy into this world, and I can't wait to watch more of your videos!
Recently a colleague of mine came out as trans. I'm 34 and never known a trans person before so, although never being a bigot, had never taken the time to educate myself. Your channel has really helped me to understand what my friend is going through and helps me to be there for them. Thank you :-)
I came out as Pan to my mom! She was very supportive. And it was because of all of the LGBTQ+ TH-camrs I watch that I was able to. I love this community on TH-cam 💙
happy birthday! thank you for making this video even though you do NOT owe cis people education or personal things at all ❤️ you are an angel, beautiful girl!
Hey Samantha been watching you throughout off and on of my 34 month transitioning. I just got my SRS date for June 15th. I am amazed that I am about to cross the finish line to my transition. Wanted to thank you for helping me fill in alot of the uncertainty regarding transitioning its been a big help. I am 47 now finally listened to the woman screaming at the top of her lungs for me to accept my true self. I am literally a late bloomer and so happy to have the privledge to finally complete my journey. Thanks for your videos they helped me alot. June 15 will be my rebirth. Have a great day everyone.
I'm a straight cis guy and never had any sort of gender dysphoria but I love your content. Always enlightening to hear how you overcome challenges and situations.
Ignore the transphobes. They're kinda prevalent at times. Just popping in to say it's nice to see people outside of the experiences learning and listening! Best of luck!
@Existential Darwinism Yes. Yes I do. Very strongly so. Because, as a matter of fact, I would be one of the people who literally would be dead if I hadn't transitioned when I did. And I waited until almost 18 to start HRT despite knowing strongly that I was trans, and coming out, at 12. It got to the point where waiting another year wasn't an option, my mental health was falling apart, and my body was literally withering away on me. I was on a slew of medications that HELPED sort of, but not enough to make me be able to even function as a human. The day I so much as knew I was starting T, I spent my first day out of my room in months, not sleeping all day, but trying to be more social and being genuinely thrilled to be going somewhere after having known I needed T and wanting it, since I was 12. Secondly, you do understand that like, after 18, NO ONE can take puberty blockers. Not for any of it's intended uses, which don't just include trans folks. I had a precocious puberty myself. It was fucking hellish. It's partially why I barely made it to 17, and couldn't make it to 18. I look back on my past and, to this day, still fucking wonder how I made it to where I am. I hit the part of my puberty where I was halfway to almost threw with the reproductive side of it, by the age of late 9, early 10. My mom had her first menstruation by 8. That's not a joke. The youngest woman to ever give birth was 5 years old. When you ban puberty blockers, you're not only advocating for people like me to be tortured by your own selfish decisions of how we should fit into your molds, but you also are banning children, cis kids, from being literally traumatized by their bodies and how their bodies are developing too quick, how people are sexualizing them too fucking fast, and they start suffering sexual abuse and harassment, especially AFAB kids, at a MUCH younger age. My mom, by 6, had double D breasts and had already developed hips. My male cousin hit puberty around the same age as me, and I think he had a precocious puberty too. It runs in my family. I didn't get puberty blockers, because my mom was under the impression (along with many other misinformations she's come to recognize over the years) that it would cause more harm. She thought it did more than improve the quality of ANY KID's life, future or present. As for HRT, that's only after 16, for your information, and um, most people with dysphoria symptoms or generally being trans by the time they've hit puberty, which at 16 is pretty much guaranteed, um, it's almost certainly never going to go away. And SRS? It's very very very very rarely used on minors, as it not only might be in bad faith, but also has a higher likelihood of having further complications due to the body still growing. But, there are cases where it's done, and you know what, I still am on board with it. Why? Because those rare fucking cases are only because those kids NEED it. Their therapists, doctors, endocrinologists, everyone agrees that if they don't get this surgery, they won't make it to 18. They won't ever be able to get that surgery, let alone a life, if they don't get the help they need. I apologize for the brash language, but you have to understand, this question, as well as your comment above it, gives me reason to doubt you being kind-willed in your intent, and honestly, it is a bit personal when people try to tell me why it's wrong, because while anyone can think it's the right choice or wrong, it's not their place to interfere, so when these laws and people advocating to ME about this shit, it's quite literally advocating for me and people like me to DIE. It's not a joke, it's not funny. I've been miserable and deeply depressed due to dysphoria for most of my life, a 3rd of it outright being suicidal, and about half of my life, I wasn't myself. I didn't feel like myself, and it wore down on me until I almost had a psychotic break at 12, due to other traumas compacted with dysphoria. This isn't something that politicians or ANYONE other than the doctors, therapists, and parents, with the kid's input, deserve to say on the matter, and I don't appreciate the implication of otherwise.
Probably not the right place to post this but, I recently learnt about the passing off a Transgender girl I kinda knew . She committed suicide, through I guess mental health issues, I found her attractive, intelligent & funny , but could be really aggressive/defensive sometimes .Maybe I was wrong but definitely felt there was a spark sometimes. After losing contact with her during the Covid period , I heard of her passing . She must have been so alone inside of herself. I feel bad for not being someone for her to confide in . All that hard work developing herself . So final ,so sad . I hope she's finally at peace .
It’s so validating that such an influential person like Samantha talks about how she kept her unisex name. I too have a unisex name and I wondered if people not changing their name was grounds for getting the side-eye. I do have a sort of online alias, a masc one, but IRL I may simply continue using my birth name. I was lucky enough to grow up in such a way that my name isn’t a huge source of negative feeling for me...and it helps that one of my favorite cartoonists has the same name as I do, spelling and all :P
I'm happy I have a unisex name as well (Mackenzie, though I just go by Kenzie). I'm non-binary, but it is nice to be able to use my birth name. We are the lucky ones I guess lol

But recently I started thinking more and more about where I see myself in 20-30 years and I don't wanna be an old man. Being a young man has been okay and I've been able to explore to woman in me in so many ways throughout it, but now is the time to make a change!

Sorry to hear about your POTS and hypermobility impact on your healing. 😔 might be worth investigating it being related to the newer addition of progesterone since its known to cause worsened symptoms of the two.
Greetings, Samantha! I hope you are doing well and that you have had a wonderful Birthday! I have not seen any of your videos recently, and now I have an idea why that is, you have been recovered from surgery. Self care is very important after any major surgery, I find it is exhausting, and one can be very tired much of the time, sleep is a great healing activity. I haven’t had the kind of surgery that you have had, but I have had a great deal of experience with orthopedic surgery as my arm has been repaired following a terrible snowboarding accident, the most recent surgery happened last January and I am still healing from it. You seemed to be doing well and have apparently adjusted to the changes that have taken place. Thank you for posting this video! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️
Imagine being against LGBTQ. Like, I am aware that people have a right to have their own opinion, but its not an opinion. Its just people being irrelevantly against something that is completely normal and fine. Like- you can accept yourself being rude to people who are living their own life as they want and having their own preferences, but you can't accept people being transgender. Seriously? Anyways I love you girlie ❤
@Braydyn Jordans Oh shut up its not a bad thing and its stupid of people to think its a bad thing why don't you shut up and accept people for being themselves. Also your pfp sucks
@Braydyn Jordans honestly if you use your brain and ✨think✨ (i know its hard for you, but just try) then you'll realise that there is nothing wrong with dating the same gender. In the end, people like you just follow what other no-brained people think. For some unknown reason, brainless people are being disrespectful to normal people who have brains that date the same gender as them, and then they go out of their way and use their last brain cell to change their youtube pfp to the dumbest quote that has ever came out of someone's mouth in history. What would you do if you had a sibling/relative/your own mf child that was part of the LGBT community? Would you "say no" to them? I bet you voted for Trump as president didnt you- okay my fingers hurt now you can try and come up with an excuse to be homophobic
I had a ton of complications with my recovery too. Like they install a wound vac and it catastrophically failed. Also I got a ton of pain from that and I was getting a fever every 6-8 hours between doses of the acetaminophen & others.
@@kiralonely Thank you. Jammidodger I already watch. Discovered him through a collab with One Topic. I will definitely check out the others.

She's the man is a really good movie
Agreed! I’m an Asian examining my representation in the media and I’d love to hear her opinion on movies related to transness since they’re not about trans people but it’s… drag? Trans-adjacent? Not sure how it’d be labeled. Anyways. It’s about the media’s progression on topics.

@@florence.exe. her trachea surgery :)
Elective surgery? High risk for nothing.

I have not seen any of your videos recently, and now I have an idea why that is, you have been recovered from surgery. Self care is very important after any major surgery, I find it is exhausting, and one can be very tired much of the time, sleep is a great healing activity.

Like I feel you hun and it was really hard for me to get out of bed for the first month. I live for your content and love what you do on this channel.
