At first, I was apprehensive about them because of their past, but I'm in a similar position in life right now about my gender identity being invalidated because of something I did in the past, and I don't wish that on anyone. I hope Trisha gets all the support they deserve.
the "do i identify as transgender , yes 1000%, do i identify as my natural born gender, yes 1000%" thing makes a lot more sense now bc now we know they are genderfluid/nonbinary and i feel like they meant to say "do i identify as the opposite gender" instead of transgender but since they were uneducated back then they werent sure how to word it
you know what's weird? I found it weird when they came out as a trans man but still a woman, but what was even weirder is that... I felt like that too. I was so confused because I felt trans but also not, I've kept circling over the same thing over and over again, until finally figuring out that I was non-binary. so to be honest, with trisha coming out as non-binary i actually was sort of not surprised, because I actually went through something oddly similar, at least in that way.
@@aku69157 yea, I changed my name so friends call me that and people use they/them for me which is nice. Still not out to my family and most of the school, but in one of the classes I got people to call me that, which is cool. I'm alexigender (but I say non-binary cause it makes more sense and more people know it, plus I like saying I'm non-binary) and everything's working, and I'm also so proud for trisha cause I know it's hard, and I can't imagine what it's like to also have half the internet say "haha *she's* a troll" like I swear-
I’ve changed my name quite a few times in the past year and it sucks when family, especially my mom, say things like “pick a name” bc apparently I’m confusing everyone :/
I'm non-binary and am biologically female, someone just called me a 'he' and I'm not being misgendered as a girl. Soooooooo, that was the highlight of my day. Yours?
Had my first shift of my first job yesterday and they were all super respectful of my pronouns and i used the mens room and stuff!! Really happy abt it
Literally same!! I'm a pre-t transmasc non binary boi and the other day while I was grocery shopping this one lady called me a "he" and it has made my entire week lmao
As a nonbinary trans masc person, honestly I can believe the thought process and progression Trisha has went through. I didn't believe they were trans with the first video, but hearing what they think now makes sense to me. Being genderfluid and nonbinary makes sense with how they've presented themself. And even if this is a troll (which I doubt), who cares? They're spreading awareness and I appreciate that.
You know... When I saw their first vid I was like hmm... I... Kinda feel like this. But then I saw some of the responses which were attacking the wording. I think Trish didn't know how to express themselves. I totally relate to that. I was sure I was a trans man until I found out what non binary. It was so liberating ❤️
Right? As I think about it, I realize that even with that transgender video they were trying to tell us how they feel, but they couldn't put it into the right words.
I thought I might be trans in my teens but calling myself a boy didn't quite fit but neither did calling myself a girl I'm very happy with being nonbinary because it does feel right I just feel like me and before i knew about non-binary i just told people im pretty gender neutral

Nonbinary transmasc means a person that doesn't fully identify as a man or a woman, who was assigned female at birth and therefore may be transitioning in a masculine direction (whether socially, medically etc etc) or identifies with masculinity in some way.
stooping to the level of using the incorrect pronouns for someone because of COMEPLETELY unrelated things they've done in the past feels gross to me I will respectfully disrespect them
Honestly, Trisha coming out as nonbinary actually makes a lot of what they said in that first video, make complete sense. Them identifying with their assigned gender and a different gender at the same time 100% makes sense when you put it in the perspective of them being non binary.
@@agganonnegaard1034 and at that time it may have been true for them. Trisha very well could have still been in the mindset that there's 2. He/him and she/her and so they had to pick one. And clearly they've grown from that mindset.
@@agganonnegaard1034 Because a lot of people disrespect they them pronouns, and don't understand that they are singular pronouns. They probably didn't want to be called them because they didn't understand them at the time.
As a genderfluid person I originally identified as a trans boy simply because I didn't realize there were other options. I was lucky to be surrounded by friends who supported me.
It seems like Trisha goes through periods where they prefer to dress more feminine and other times prefers to express themselves more masculine, just something I’ve realized. Nothing wrong with feeling fluid!!

“We need to give time for people to learn the terminology” is such an important message here. People’s reactions to trisha’s original video were really disheartening to me. Because when I watched their video it sounded to me like someone who was non-binary but didn’t have the word for it. And everyone reacting like they were faking it felt so problematic, because they clearly didn’t have the language to describe properly what they were feeling, so they sounded confusing when trying to describe it. Everyone hopped onto the idea that they didn’t sound like they were describing what it’s like to be a trans man, but it felt like everyone was ignoring the fact that they were very much describing what it feels like to be non-binary for some people. The reactions to that video were really so disheartening to me. And I get Trisha was already a problematic creator, but I’d rather believe someone when they’re telling me about their gender identity; than assuming they are lying. And I’m glad that now that Trisha has the terminology people are starting to understand and believe them. I just hope in the future people take away from this that it’s okay for someone not to have all the right terminology when they are discovering their identity. And if someone says “I don’t feel like the gender I was born as” - understand that they mean the gender they were assigned at birth, and believe them. Give them the language to help them figure out their identity. Don’t dismiss them. Even if they’ve trolled before, or even if they are still doing bad things like when Caitlyn Jenner came out.
greed i got so mad and uncomfortable when people reacted as they did to that video. they just didn't have the words for it yet it made sense to me and people were literally being so mean to rthem for it. they didn't deserve that.
That was an essay that troy 😂people will come more accepting through time hopefully around people being non binary , I think some people just dont like change that's all!
Yeah, the first video felt really genuine to me and from the heart but also like they were still trying to figure things out and just seemed really naive about the terminology. Like, give them a break!! I’m sure if a boomer or older realized they were trans, they’d probably use the wrong terminology at first too … but it’s up to us to listen and notice that they are speaking from their heart.
If that Tik Tok was Trisha trolling their doing a terrible job of it. It felt sincere in like the boring way, in like the way that would lose attention because it's so relatable and not out of this world or shocking. I believe them and honestly idk what anyone loses by not believing them
Don’t wanna being that guy, but I got a little confused reading this comment at first because you used their* instead of they’re* (or just they are). It wasn’t horribly confusing, just made me have to read it more than once lol
@Lucy Thomas trisha has said on podcast that she wasn't trolling abt it. they explained in detail that they were genuinely confused. but i definitely see where you are coming from. trisha is known for chaos and trolling, the video was a bit messy and ill informed, so of course ppl were going to think she's bullshitting. im glad they've found themselves
Exactly, if you use they/them pronouns referring to Trisha, then you're doing a good job regardless of what their identity is, because they requested that. If it wasn't sincere, then that would just be their problem, not yours. So, I respect them too!
i never cared for trisha, but they seem to be doing so much better and being more authentic ever since they started getting therapy and honestly as a feminine enby im actually seeing a bit of myself in them and im all for supporting them
I can’t support them because of what they did to the DID/OSDD community (I’m part of a system) but I mean, if they’re getting better that’s good I guess ~Ari
Also, Sam Collins had found a very old video of Trisha claiming they're a man long before the coming out so it's quite likely they're not trolling this time, even if it does feel mega surreal considering their past
I think this is a case of “if someone tells you their identity/pronouns, respect it”. No ifs, ands, or buts. I’ve been really interested in how Trisha’s grown in the past few years. :)
not saying ur opinion is invalid but you know not everyone knows everyone, if you saw trisha and wanted to refer to her you would say "that woman" not "that human who is non binary"
I’m not a big fan of Trisha Paytas, but it’s nice to see them feel like they’re able to tell people who they are. if I trolled as much as they did in the past I don’t think I’d have the confidence to come out lmao, good for them

Trisha has spend tons of time atually learning things and I do believe they are trying to be better, not to invalidate the hurt the comunities Trisha has said bad stuff about, but if they are able to actually learn about gender, I think that sort of mistakes would be lessened in the future.

I feel like the most controversial thing they’ve done is insulting a person with DID and pretending they have DID, yes it’s wrong for me to hold a grudge but I can’t excuse that kind of “trolling”. I have no problem with them being non binary and just in general, I just still am frustrated about that.
I think that might also be like the original trans video. They don’t know terminology, they don’t know options, all they know is that something about them is different for some reason and they don’t know what. It wasn’t DID, but they had just heard about it and it sounded sort of right. But they didn’t really understand or do research, so they insulted a person with DID because they were confused. Maybe. I honestly do not now. That is my best guess. I’m probably giving them too much doubt, but I like to think the better of people, and this explanation sort of makes sense to me. In the end, it doesn’t pertain to me or really matter too much in the grand scheme of the universe. Is good to be concerned about people though, and want to fight for them.

it isn't wrong to hold a grudge over that honestly. they never properly apologized or gave clarification and it was an obvious grasp for attention. as someone with DID, we did not need more stigma and people seriously just stopped holding trish accountable for it. not to mention they really do fetishize gay men and overall should be held accountable, but because they came out as nb and exposed a bad person, nobody is talking about their mistakes anymore
my roommate showed me a couple of clips from trisha's first 'im trans' video, and i remember as a nonbinary person saying,,, 'no i think that's nonbinary' a couple of times. i don't personally relate to how they described their gender identity, but i've seen other nonbinary ppl (esp genderfluid) talk abt that confusion of feeling 'not their assigned gender' and 'i do agree with my assigned gender'. i think they're serious abt this, and it honestly makes sense to me

As another trans dude, I feel this. I am mostly just impressed by their growth. I never felt personally wounded by them exploring their identity when they said they were ftm bc I'm kinda feminine and sympathised with their gender struggles.
Another trans guy, and even though I may not like their actions, they have the right to be comfortable with their gender identity because that's not something that you can change. You can be confused about it, but that doesn't mean you're just a cis person striving for attention. Also, people who try to force enbies to be totally androgynous confuse me a lot. They're placing gender stereotypes on non-binary people? Enbies can be fem-presenting or masc-presenting, and if they can do that without dysphoria, don't try to change that.
As Samantha said, the main thing is that Trisha has said so many things that aren't true just to troll, it's exactly the Boy who cried wolf, so I don't really blame people for not believing that they are actually non Binary. It might just take a while for people to start believing them

Just recently they’ve been very antisemitic, and it just doesn’t seem that they’ve changed or turned over a new leaf. They really shouldn’t be getting support or a fan base anytime soon if ever
I don't know much about the whole thing but honestly I have a hard time believing they'd be trolling given everything else that's going on. But I also don't want to believe they're *not* trolling and I'm very conflicted
I actually think Trisha starting frienemies was the best thing to happen to them. They finally found people who are willing to back them up when they needed it the most. Ethan has defended trish more in the past year than Shane had through that whole friendship. And now that trish is in their most healthy relationship with Moses, I agree that they don’t need attention seek as much or troll because they found finally found some stability and are truly happy.

This is just my opinion, but I think that had a lot to do with their bpd, and now being diagnosed schizophrenic. They weren't educated enough on the subject yet and confused (just like with coming out trans male and then learning more to come out now as non binary) hearing voices in their head and mis-identifying that as DID, like being "different people" bcuz what they knew of it at the time they thought kind of fit what they were feeling. Taking that little bit of info, thinking it fit their symptoms, labeling themself and running with it could be a manifestation of their bpd. You know, they could use their platform to try and spread actual awareness kind of like what they're doing for the nonbinary community. Honestly I haven't been actively following them, but from what I've seen there's been some big development towards Trish becoming a better person. I guess what I'm saying is that there's still hope they can make up for what they did in the past?

Trisha called herself a girl and then a woman in the video about Joe Rogan just a week a so ago. Trisha is nothing but a attention seeking, abusive, toxic hypocrite of a person. If Trisha can't keep what she says straight, then how are any of us supposed to respect anything.

@@artangels9958 theres tons of videos but, im going to summarize some. The"trolled" (?) that they had DID and called someone with DID crazy. They spread huge amounts of harmful stereotypes and misinformation on DID. Just some bad stuff that had huge effects on the DID community. There are other controversies, but in my opinion this one was the most harmful.
As a non-binary person, Trisha's described journey feels so familiar. That first video that everyone mocks is definitely the point where the information is new, where the option to not be what you were assigned is first discovered but you don't know much of anything about how it works. When I first learned of trans people, trans women were what I primarily heard of and I remember being a small child thinking "wow, if I was born a boy I would probably have done that." And when I first learned of trans men I thought "I almost want to do that, but I would want to go back and forth and that's just not practical." I did hear in passing of non-binary people in my early teens but for some reason I was made to believe only intersex people could be in that category. Almost my entire childhood I had a near obsession of proving myself to be somewhere between boyish and girly, that my brain was part boy and part girl. Now that I understand gender identity a lot better and am involved in the community it makes a lot more sense what I went through, but early on it was so confusing and I had to experiment while still learning.
This was such a kind, empathetic video. I love the approach you take to these topics, and I hope the folks who have been giving Trisha a hard time learn how to follow your lead. I understand that they're problematic, but I hope people can differentiate between well-earned criticism and being unkind.
A quite old show is coming back onto the BBC called this time with Alan Partridge and they addressed everyone in the teaser trailer by saying "men, women and everything in-between" and it made me so happy.
It's kinda like how I used to identify as bisexual, but now I use pansexual, and like how my brother thought he was bisexual and realized he was actually gay. Sexuality can be very fluid. It's a journey.
@@draalttom844 I think they were saying that its fluid in the sense as when you finally come to a conclusion. Like the fluidity is the journey itself, the time it takes to discover yourself.
I have recently found my own identity as agender but I still pass as female and didn't change my pronouns because in my language it's very hard to do and I just don't care about people online. So seeing a fellow female passing nonbinary reassures me in my own identity as well, since I judge myself harshly for it sometimes.
This is such a refreshing video on Trisha. I’ve seen so many hate videos about them and it makes me so sad. Like you said, they did a lot of trolling in the past but having watched their videos about their gender identity, it was so obvious to me that Trisha was just a person trying to figure out who they were. Which, literally every person who isn’t a cisgender/heterosexual goes through, except Trisha did it all publicly. That takes a lot of courage to do. I love that you made the point to mention that we can’t expect someone new to the scene to know, understand and/or use all the correct terminology. It’s already so overwhelming to find the identity that you are, let alone be knowledgeable on ALL of them. Although I haven’t been a fan of Trisha’s in the past, it’s been nice to them go from this “bimbo” character they played in the past to their true, authentic self and to use their platform to speak out about serious subjects. I feel like people have been bashing on them for so long that these people criticizing and making fun of Trisha are just so set in their ways that they’re ignorant of the changes to how Trisha is publicly presenting themselves.
I think people forget that also since they’re gender fluid, they’re maybe not gonna have the same perspective on their gender all the time, meaning they could relate to their gender very differently on different days which some people might see as “proof” of faking (I obviously don’t know if that’s true, I’m just a stranger on the internet). so like they might have different things to say on different days about how they feel, versus me feeling relatively the same about my gender over time. I’m not genderfluid so I don’t wanna speak for their experience but that’s how I’ve seen it explained, please correct me if I’m wrong!
Hey everyone, I hope you all have a great day. Keep being the great person you are and maybe someday everyone will truely accept you for the fabulous person you are, be safe out there.
I’ve never been a fan of/liked Trisha, but I’m happy that they’ve found a label that makes them comfortable. Friendly reminder that just because Trisha has exhibited problematic behavior, we should always respect their pronouns and identity. That goes for every trans person!

Differentiating between ppl with deep-rooted gender identity issues and narcissistic attention seekers is an impossible task and a rabbit hole I choose not to go down
Where did they lie tho!? It was a video made by a person who was confused about their gender. For which they went on to apologize and donate money to trans charities. Same with the DID thing. Trisha was mentally struggling and questioned whether or not they have DID. Turns out they are on that spectrum as they got diagnosed with BPD. For which they apologized yet again. And they didn’t have to apologize for questioning their own existence without hurting anybody else. So where are the lies?
@@Observette For the DID thing, no they were not just confused. They talked about switches on camera with just them throwing a cup and shit. Even if you are struggling, you never say you have something without a proper diagnosis, and they CLAIMED it. They made videos on it and even watched people who had DID fr and mocked it. They did a lot of harm in the DID community. Once again, no matter how much you are struggling or how confused you are it is never okay to claim to have something (even making videos about it for proof) when you do not have a proper diagnosis
To be fair, getting a DID diagnosis can be real hard and real expensive. More than a few of the DID creators on TH-cam were self diagnosed back when I was more involved in the community. The biggest problem with their vids on both DID and their gender was that they were awfully misinformed and hurt a lot of people. The hyper feminine presentation within the context of feeling they’re gender fluid or non-binary suddenly makes sense. It’s a kind of persona. It suddenly seems to me, as an outsider, that to them it’s like doing drag.

I mean I def could be wrong, it just seems like a plausible explanation to me.
@@teridoster5840 and if they don't fit the exact definition no one has taken Trisha's feelings seriously or problems. Like the nonbinary claim (in which I believe)
Agreed to everything Teri said, and also Trisha has apologized several times. It's OK not to accept that apology, but let's not pretend they tried to sweep it under the rug
@@writerchick94 I agree, they have apologised, but I understand if people who were affected by the DID videos can't accept their apology, I just hope that in time (especially seeing all the positive changes) those affected can open their hearts to forgive
I mean that's far from all Trisha has done. They're rampant in anti semitism, ableism, and racism, all in the name of trolling. If they're getting better mentally, cool, doesn't mean Trish isn't an absolutely shit person lol
I'm both nonbinary and the host of a system and I honestly am incredibly torn. I admire that their vocabulary has expanded and that they can more accurately express themself. The DID thing still did hurt people and still does hurt people, but I think I'm growing closer to forgiving them.
I'm very upset with Trisha and I think I will always be upset about what happened between them and DissociaDID. They were incredibly hurtful to the DID community and it will be really hard for me to forgive them. I definitely dont forgive them now. But Samantha reminded me I still have to respect their pronouns because I should respect EVERYONES identity. Even if I will never like Trisha
This is honestly very understandable. My only hope is that they will realize the damage they caused and try to make up for it.

Same! Like idk if I can believe them after they lied about that, and a lot more stuff.
I think Trisha was honestly going for the non-binary then but expressed it as “transgender” just mistaking their true self as something else - if all that makes sense lol
When I was discovering my gender identity I thought I could be a trans man and wanted to go on T. I’ve never identified as a woman. I’m now comfortable as non-binary. It’s a journey and someone like Trisha that has such a large social media presents it’s on display.

@@eleven-hopper Ok good to know
As a non-binary person, Trisha's described journey feels so familiar.
Oh my god, same!! I always thought non binary equals intersex, and I was so sad that I couldn’t be that.
This was such a kind, empathetic video. I love the approach you take to these topics, and I hope the folks who have been giving Trisha a hard time learn how to follow your lead. I understand that they're problematic, but I hope people can differentiate between well-earned criticism and being unkind.

I feel like people have been bashing on them for so long that these people criticizing and making fun of Trisha are just so set in their ways that they’re ignorant of the changes to how Trisha is publicly presenting themselves.

they better not be lying again, like they came out as trans or having DID
Where did they lie tho!?
And then when people tried to politely educate her she lashed out at them.
When I saw both those original vids I did get the impression that Trisha was in some way trying to explore real feelings, just doing it in a catastrophically bad way
