This woman has been very educational to me. I've been pro-trans rights as long as I've been old enough to make my own decisions but I will admit to implicit biases that creep their way into my brain. And I will admit that while I never acknowledged it on a conscious level I think I always assumed that she would look more masculine or boyish without her makeup. But she is absolutely breathtaking

I'm a non-binary person who was assigned female at birth. Samantha's videos always make my day. Also I just want to say how impressive her makeup skills are. I wish I could do that. I love how much it makes a difference on her. She's gorgeous without makeup, but I can tell it gives her a confidence boost to have it on.

I have to agree here. I’m a cis woman, and a natural contralto. On the other hand, I understand the insecurity. When I was in high school, I was embarrassed to speak because I was this skinny willow wand of a girl with a super husky voice. Actually, what really helped me was voice lessons. By polishing my singing voice, my speaking voice also benefited, and I learned to appreciate my deeper voice.

Samantha...I just made a friend and realized they are trans. They showed me their surgery and everything. He is so cool and just your average high schooler. In Texas people are so conservative so this was crazy to me. I have been studying trans people for a bit to learn how to respect everyone and I’m so happy it paid off in the end.
Not all conservative hate gay people though. I’m conservative and christian and I don’t necessarily support it, but I still love them and don’t treat them indifferently.

I am not trans I am gay. I am outish, I've told a few people, but I haven't completely opened up. When I meet new people I try my hardest to not let them know. I don't know why I am afraid, I live in a very progressive area and I'm sure everyone would be supportive. But I still have this irrational fear. Your ability to speak so openly about being trans is a bravery I don't think I will ever have. You are such an incredible person. On another note, you have a beautiful voice.
I hope you find comfort within yourself and know you are loved. Sometimes it can be scary for people to come out because they may judge themselves too harshly causing a spiral of fears. I can tell from your comment that you're so very close to overcoming this fear. You've honestly done nothing wrong so you have nothing to fear. Maybe just be honest I guess, like, "I am gay, and, wow, I am right now completely terrified about saying this out loud and I have no idea why, but yea, I'm gay." Not sure if it helps but as a primarily cis-hetero-dude who's hung with other cis-hetero-dudes all my life you probably got nothing to 'fear' from us. The only time I ever remember any of my c-h-dudes ever getting upset about a gay dude is when he made out (kissed) with another dude in front of them which kinda icked them a little but even then they were pretty nice about it. Hi Samantha! I have been following you for quite a while, and now I feel that I need to add a comment here. My personal opinion is that over the years, I have seen far to many pretty young women ruin their natural beauty, because they feel the need for " a little tweak here and another little tweak there." Before long, they have made so many little changes, that they have now done non-reversible damage to themselves. PLEASE ! Leave well enough alone. You are perfect the way you are and don't need to change a thing. Also, your voice is perfect as-is. It is very unique and adds to your overall charm. I love you the way you are, and I don't think you need to change anything. Don't let any small insecurities convince you to feel the need to make changes that you might come to regret. There are a quite a large number of comments from other people in this thread! It seem that most of them also feel that you are perfect the way you are! Please take your time and think about this!
I remember when I was diagnosed with a panic and generalized anxiety disorder. It's been almost a decade, and it does get better. I will say that honestly, it's hard for me to recall anything clearly from that 2-3 year period because constant fear and stress just makes everything hazey. In my case though, I had undiagnosed ADHD that swung me from anxious to depressed periods, and only this past year has that been directly addressed. [Speaking generally,] Meds and therapy helped immensely. And yes, it can help to stop telling yourself you're wrong for feeling scared, that there's no reason. You've probably already heard that from the people around you, but your body doesn't care. Have some compassion for yourself and give yourself space to feel what you feel. Glad you're making progress on all fronts Samantha! Wishing you good health, and same for everyone dealing with these issues and getting to learn from your experiences.
I'm a cis woman with a very low voice compaired to other women, and i want you to know that even though you feel self conscious, and it feels not right for you, its very common. I also hate my voice, but I will never be able to get it fixed. You have a beautiful voice already, I cant wait to hear what it sounds like when the surgery is done and healed.
@@loopduplicate i have attempted it with low quality results. I have a health condition that deteriorates my vocal chords and makes my voice lower and scratchy. Its okay though, I'll just have to learn to love it i suppose.
Ugh I love this. I love that Sam doesn’t care that people already view (and hear) her as the woman she is, she still has plans for her transition and she goes out and gets them done!!! That’s so powerful, honestly. Its not just the pitch though, in fact, her voice is pretty high pitched. The raspiness caused by the scarring makes her sound more masculine anyways. She wants to fix a complication caused by a previous voice surgery, not just doing another surgery on top of it.
Girl you're so incredibly valid and your decisions about your transition are obviously yours and valid, but also your voice is absolutely beautiful as-is, in my personal opinion
I know everyone else is saying the same thing, but I really love your voice. I would never clock you based on it. Do what makes you happy, and I hope this surgery brings you more of that. I totally understand your dysphoria surrounding your voice but I just wanted to let you know that I personally adore it and think it’s really pretty! Lots of girls have a ‘deeper’ voice than what society expects a woman’s voice to stereotypically sound like, and that’s okay!💜

Samantha...I just made a friend and realized they are trans. They showed me their surgery and everything. He is so cool and just your average high schooler. In Texas people are so conservative so this was crazy to me. I have been studying trans people for a bit to learn how to respect everyone and I’m so happy it paid off in the end.

I am not trans I am gay. I am outish, I've told a few people, but I haven't completely opened up. When I meet new people I try my hardest to not let them know. I don't know why I am afraid, I live in a very progressive area and I'm sure everyone would be supportive. But I still have this irrational fear. Your ability to speak so openly about being trans is a bravery I don't think I will ever have. You are such an incredible person.

Not sure if it helps but as a primarily cis-hetero-dude who's hung with other cis-hetero-dudes all my life you probably got nothing to 'fear' from us. The only time I ever remember any of my c-h-dudes ever getting upset about a gay dude is when he made out (kissed) with another dude in front of them which kinda icked them a little but even then they were pretty nice about it. Heck most of them don't even like dude-chick making out in public, but they never mentioned a problem with chick-chick making out, lol.
Also, I'm personally very sorry for all the parts I've played in cultivating such a hetero-glorified culture; I had no idea until pretty recently that gay people were pretty much in hiding.

My personal opinion is that over the years, I have seen far to many pretty young women ruin their natural beauty, because they feel the need for " a little tweak here and another little tweak there." Before long, they have made so many little changes, that they have now done non-reversible damage to themselves. PLEASE ! Leave well enough alone. You are perfect the way you are and don't need to change a thing. Also, your voice is perfect as-is. It is very unique and adds to your overall charm. I remember when I was diagnosed with a panic and generalized anxiety disorder. It's been almost a decade, and it does get better.
I will say that honestly, it's hard for me to recall anything clearly from that 2-3 year period because constant fear and stress just makes everything hazey. In my case though, I had undiagnosed ADHD that swung me from anxious to depressed periods, and only this past year has that been directly addressed.
[Speaking generally,] Meds and therapy helped immensely. And yes, it can help to stop telling yourself you're wrong for feeling scared, that there's no reason. You've probably already heard that from the people around you, but your body doesn't care. Have some compassion for yourself and give yourself space to feel what you feel.
Glad you're making progress on all fronts Samantha! Wishing you good health, and same for everyone dealing with these issues and getting to learn from your experiences.

I'm a cis woman with a very low voice compaired to other women, and i want you to know that even though you feel self conscious, and it feels not right for you, its very common. I also hate my voice, but I will never be able to get it fixed. You have a beautiful voice already, I cant wait to hear what it sounds like when the surgery is done and healed.

@@loopduplicate i have attempted it with low quality results. I have a health condition that deteriorates my vocal chords and makes my voice lower and scratchy. Its okay though, I'll just have to learn to love it i suppose.

Its not just the pitch though, in fact, her voice is pretty high pitched. The raspiness caused by the scarring makes her sound more masculine anyways. She wants to fix a complication caused by a previous voice surgery, not just doing another surgery on top of it.

I totally understand your dysphoria surrounding your voice but I just wanted to let you know that I personally adore it and think it’s really pretty! Lots of girls have a ‘deeper’ voice than what society expects a woman’s voice to stereotypically sound like, and that’s okay!💜
