    Thanks for mentioning Pocket Bravery in this episode! I am the co-founder of the company responsible for the game. Me and our entire team are putting all our love and dedication into it. JWong played some time ago and it was amazing. It would mean a lot to us if you guys could test the game and let us know what you think. We can give a key for the last build.

    I just wanted to take a moment to say that the Triple KO podcast is always the perfect way for me to unwind after a hectic afternoon at work (my work schedule regrettably tends to prevent me from making it to the premiere of various TKO episodes), and it's cool to hear you guys talk about all things fighting games. I look forward to checking out the podcast after my shift is over tomorrow night, and I'll ESCPECIALLY look forward to hearing y'all gush about the return of Fatal Fury in a future episode. Thanks for making our Tuesdays extra special with your podcasts! 😁

      @@MrWhis-fe5hs I'll have you know that it was Matt's What Happened series that made me a fan of his in the first place. I have seen every single What Happened episode at least one and I am currently rewatching every episode in chronological order (I am about to rewatch the Mortal Kombat cancelled remakes episode). In addition, I always run-not walk-to check out the newest episodes as and when they go live...first on Matt's Patreon, then on his main channel. It is, indeed, a fantastic series, and I hope Matt keeps it going for many more years to come!

Also SNK Heroines has no low attacks but there are some unblockable items and guard break is a thing (also my head cannon is two people with keys looking at each other to unlock the button that cuts the stream). Currently no other corrections I can offer. Great ep.

    It's interesting how the stories of Skullgirls and Them's Fighting Herds are connected. After the C&D incident that extinguished the life of the MLP fighting game that Mane6 was working on at the time, and their rebirth with Them's Fighting Herds which was using the same engine as Skullgirls, I went and got both games. I made a huge fighting game about Fate stay night when I was a teen, using mugen. I created 2 characters and modified the rest, I worked for hundreds of hours during a summer, writing thousands of lines of code... Then I discovered another one, made in 3d, so superior to mine in every aspect...
    Well, it was a fine summer. I learned a lot.

    • @SoulofXeno

      Don't give up on your idea man, just because someone else made something similar to you doesn’t mean yours isn't unique. The game was made in 3d, but yours will be made in 2d. The roster choices you made could've be different, the gameplay could be different. There's a lot of fangames out there all based on the same IP but done in different ways.

  • @DanKojak
    @DanKojak 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    In defense of SNK Heroines, I'm pretty sure she's misremembering the mechanics. There was no jump button, but there was a guard button. There was no crouching, but there were also no unblockably low attacks. There might have been some items thrown on the floor that exploded after a while or something that you couldn't block if you were still standing on their location, but that's about it. Gameplay-wise, I'd consider it more unusually-different compared to the standard style fighting game than I'd consider it "bad". I watched some gameplay in Japan and there were some deeper tactics used in there that got overlooked most places because cow bikini.

    So I need to point out the business side of Sonic Mania. Sega took advantage of the developer’s fandom to get them to sign a shitty contract where they got paid once for Sonic Mania and a second time for the plus expansion. I learned about this from the Vertibreaker Kickstarter that didn’t go through. Since then I think most of them have gone back to their day jobs, apart from I think Christian Whitehead who is now doing solo game development.

    I was a free tester for rivals of aether and got to take like the first few builds to smash events to playtest and find bugs. But i was too lazy and didn’t give enough feedback and I got cut haha. It was really fun to test though!

      I'm pretty sure JMCrofts wouldn't have an issue being a future guest considering that Max had him on his team in a recent online tournament.
