I think that Apple have all the resources to make a remarkable change in the way we see iPads and Macs, like turning it into one thing: A Mac with the aspect of an Ipad, but with the Mac OS software. Thank you! I personally feel that the answer is to not to put macOS on the iPad, but overhaul the iPad in a way that it merges the iPhone and Mac experience while creating a need for the iPad.
I'm at the point that if they don't fix the OS the hardware updates are mostly meaningless. Right now my view on the iPad is it's a great entertainment device and a good MacBook accessory.

I’d so. Given that the average iPad is supported by iOS for 5-6 years, it would definitely be a good investment. But since it has the M series chip I think we’d see it kept around for longer than 5-6 years.

Why does the iPad needs to be saved?
If i buy an ipad air 5 now, will it last at least 6 years? (With two years without getting a software upgrade support)
