To be honest I find the camping in the rain/snow videos among the most interesting that people post. Those are what I look for a lot of the time and how I find new channels by searching "camping in the rain with camp fire" or "winter hot stove camping" etc. You couldn't get or didn't see the need for a fire this time, so sad! Haha I love the campfire it just adds so much but I understand it's not always possible or needed.
Same here! I find those videos to be most entertaining and I also find those to be the most fun camps. I actually drove 4 hours to get to an area that would have rain all weekend (this is video and last one). As to the fire I should hav explained that better. I didn't make one because the winds were so high it would be irresponsible.

I prefer the rainy camps, one of the Japanese channels i watch RyuCamp i watch due to his tendency to camp in the rain. 99% of his videos are rain or heavy snow camping videos. he really embraces the concept and does some really cool time laps photography with the storms. i absolutely love it...

Glad you're liking the videos! I really should experiment with rain water honestly. As for the trees falling on me, I'm not ready to die yet. It's one of the most dangerous things about wild camping in a storm. I was camping in NY in 2021. Had picked a spot but decided to switch to a different one last minute. In the morning a massive branch had fallen in that spot. I'd literally be dead right now if I hadn't checked and found widow makers above me.

Happy you continued! I definitely understand not wanting to be in the wood during wind storms. We won't drop trees if it's windy. Windy days are spent in the log yards!

Sam, I live on Lake Superior. Instead of trying to get water with waves crashing in, dig a hole ten feet away from where the waves are crashing and the water will pool in it. The sand will also filter out some floaties naturally. Give it a try. Hole has to be big enough to dip your vessel.

Dig a big hole in the sand about 25 feet from the waterline and then let it settle. Dip it out with your coffee cup after it clears up. It'll be way easier than fighting the surf.

Great video. Those knots sure come in handy for making a quick tarp shelter in the wind and rain. I watched you show how to make those knots but my memory isn't what it used to be. I need to practice making them. Cute doggy. Some of my best friends are dogs.
Glad you liked it bud! I plan to do a video on my favorite tarp setups in the future. But mostly I'm using the arbor knot and taut-line hitch. You can search those up if you want to learn more. They are very commonly used knots.

I’ve been caught in the rain enough to learn to bring a shammy or microfibre cloth with me, it will dry up the bottom and sides of your tent in a flash.

I liked the video , needed more rain lol , have you tried using a army poncho liner , they’re great! try two tied together you’ll stay warm , plus light weight, if you get a chance and if you spare a little money, swing by a military surplus store , they have great camping gear , any hoot , have a great day/night

What are your thoughts or plans on drinking while camping and if the unfortunate situation arose where it wouldn't be safe to stay out but you've had too much to drive? Do u just go stay in the car? Could you Uber? Or do you just stick it out at that point?
That's a really good question! I've thought about this a lot. Luckily it hasn't happened to me yet, but you only need a couple to disqualify you from driving. If I had to, I'd just go sleep in the car until morning.
