- This is Batman Arkham Shadow. Coming from developer Camoflaj, creators of Iron Man VR, This is a new entry in the famous Arkham series, but designed exclusively for Virtual Reality. Taking place after Arkham origins and bridging the gap Arkham Asylum, this brand new entry in the series sees players investigating the rat king and his band of cult followers. Guys this may be one of the most ambitious made for VR titles I’ve ever played and definitely makes a play for my top 5 best VR games of all time. @@VRGRID Batman sounds nothing like Conroy in Arkham Origins. It's literally the same voice actor as Arkham Shadow. Origins just might be my favourite Arkham game (out of the non VR ones anyway), criminally under rated game.
Roger Craig Smith is better know for voicing Ezio Auditore da Firenze in Assassin's Creed II, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed Revelations and Assassin's Creed Nexus.

As a PSVR 2 owner who will never buy a Meta product, I'm pretty jealous of this game being exclusive and bummed that Sony didn't pick up Camoflaj when they had the chance. That said, I'm glad it turned out to be a great game, as that'll be good for VR as a whole.

I cannot understand your take. Meta is keeping VR alive with new products and commissioning AAA games like this. Sony on the other hand - their PSVR2 is a great piece of hardware, but they disrespect it and seem to hate us as owners by refusing to support and promote their own VR, making all of us "suckers" by investing in a paperweight. The biggest slap was Astrobot has no VR mode. And it plays just like Astrobot1 - which was VR.

People keep saying that PSVR2 is a “great piece of hardware” and blame its troubles on Sony, game developers, and in some cases gamers who are too dense to see the grandeur of the PSVR2.
My first headset was a PSVR1. I was super excited to buy the next Sony headset until I read that it was wired. A wire was fine 8 years ago when no headsets were wireless but releasing a wired headset in 2023 is like releasing a corded phone.
Many people who are used to the increased immersion of being able to freely move around in VR and turn without using a thumb stick aren’t going to want to go back to being tethered.
Add in the complaints about the high persistence panels, fresnel lenses, and discomfort and it seems like it’s not a great piece of hardware, it’s hardware with some advanced features held back by stupid design decisions.
I’m hoping Sony makes a wireless version with low persistence panels and pancake lenses and a more comfortable design. That might break Meta’s near monopoly on the market which would be a very good thing for VR.

Nice vid! Just played for the first time and I'm pretty blown away. They really did it. It's a proper Arkham game, but with fantastic VR implementation. I couldn't be happier with it and knowing that it's got at least a 10 hour campaign is such great news. This is a true must-have.

I would be interested to know how that effects this game.
I will say that while the combat mostly looks as good as you describe and it’s good it didn’t go full on bonelab physics combat (that’ll never work in a structured campaign), I will say though that it looks like the game auto jumps which is a little too far, but maybe the lock on by looking may fix that a bit.
I can see why you would think it auto jumps from watching. It only does that when you counter an incoming attack from the side. Otherwise, everything was my choice.
The game does not auto jump, you have to initiate a jump yourself in free flight, by pushing down the left stick for a short jump, or grabbing your cape with the side buttons to start a glide.
I love psvr 2 but this is tempting me to get a quest 3
I also had a PSVR and have to say that the quest is so much better. the lenses alone are so much better. I also gave the PSVR back because I don't think it's worth it. The quest, in contrast, is really good and has a lot of good games. I would definitely consider picking up a quest

@@jamespaul6315 very very good with the pc vr mods. No mura like you get on the psvr 2. Oh plus, you can play the re2 remake with a mod on pcvr.

PSVR1 eventually got Oculus's Darth Vader Immortal and PSVR2 got Star Wars tales from Galaxies edge, so you never know. Sony is happy to let 3rd party only to keep their product alive so .. maybe.

@@ZFCaioAs an owner of a Quest 2 & 3 and PSVR2, exclusives don't help when VR as a whole is still extremely niche. You should want everything everywhere because it helps everyone who likes VR.
@@robbieburns3564 Both of the games you mentioned were not exclusives. Batman Arkham Shadow IS an exclusive - Meta literally wrote it into the contract with Time Warner. They did the same thing when they wrote up the contract with Ubisoft for Assassin's Creed Nexus - that the game would only be on Meta Quest.

Not much. You can pick some items up off of tables and such, but the environment itself is locked.

New systems needs exclusives
PS5 is the only system that sells even having not that much exclusive to justify
Almost everything PS5 has can be played on a PS4 or PC
A lot of it comes down to the dynamic lighting, which elevates the look of the game significantly. It's a much more demanding title for the hardware and pushes even the Quest 3 very hard. It also runs much smoother than AC.
Camoflagj said the Quest 2 isn't powerful enough to run it, from what they've said I would hazard a guess that it was at one point during development running on Quest 2 but not at an acceptable standard. Meta were fine with dropping Quest 2 support to make the best game they could.
Also Quest 3S is exactly the same price as Quest 2 was for most of it's lifecycle, so I don't really see what the issue is. You could trade in your Quest 2 to get the price of a Quest 3S down even more.

PSVR2 + PS5 is literally the worst choice in VR at the moment
@@ZFCaio Couldn’t disagree more. RE8 VR and RE4 Remake VR are worth price of admission by themselves which are exclusives to PSVR2. Plenty of other great games as well so yeah I couldn’t be happier with it. Not to mention I bought it half off retail last holidays.
@@BStudd1182Just flatscreen conversions, and the RE4 is on Quest, it's just the classic. But there are PC MODs for the games you mentioned. Unless you are obsessed with Gran Turismo there is no reason to invest on a PS5, I have more than 10 Playstation Games on my Steam.
I say PS5 + PSVR2 is yhe worst choice in VR for a couple of reasons. No wireless option, no backwards compatible with PSVR1 (So I can play Ironman on my Quest 3 but you can't on your PSVR2). And PS5 is always the last to receive the indie game, just see Compound and Max Mustard. I bought Undead Citadel on Q3 last Week, on PSVR is only coming in 2025.
Also you miss a lot of games and there are ZERO first parties in 2024 and ZERO announced

First of all you paid for a thing that just do VR, it NEEDS to be connected to a bigger device, and just serves for games, and it is mandatory Wired, which is ridiculous in 2024
The games you mentioned are cool, but not games made for VR, just flatscreen conversions, the only first party game made for VR on PSVR2 is Horizon CotM, also RE4 is on Quest (is just the classic), and there are mods to make the RE8 and RE4R to VR on PC
But the main reason I say is the worst choice is because it lacks a bunch of indie games and is always the last to receive the indie games (just see Max Mustard and Compound).
And also there is no effort from Sony themselves, they are letting the ship sync, just like they did with PSVITA, no 1st party VR games released in 2024, not even Astrobot has VR support, and zero 1st party VR games announced which is ridiculous

Unless you are obsessed with Gran Turismo 7 I don't see a reason to buy a PSVR2 (and you must have a G29 too, because playing with dualsense is as arcade as a Need for Speed), so it's a quite expensive game

It's 12 hours actually, which is a long time for a VR game.
Conroy was a extremly mediocre voice actor, too stiff and too set in his one way of speaking.
Any recast will be better.

I dont own a quest but I'm so glad this turned out to be awesome. This is good for all VR.
