If you notice the people who have been “Origamified” like peach, have creases on there paper text box, while flat paper characters like Mario or Bob-omb, have flat text boxes.

There is a lot of hate to this game but as a standalone game and just forgetting about the past games for a bit, you don't really have anything to hate on!
I've played around 45 hours with it and it exceeded my expectations by a lot. In my opinion it is a much better game than what the internet discussion suggests about it. Even most of the reviews are "it is a fantastic game but it is not RPG and the combat does not give XP, 7/10", which is really strange to me, like most people cannot simply measure this game on its own but looking at how it differs from a 16 years old game.
It is mainly an adventure, puzzle, collectathon game with beautiful graphics and music, clever and funny writing, charming story and characters and tons of unique ideas.
I personally loved the logic puzzle aspect of the combat (especially the bosses) and never got boring or frustrating to me but I can understand if someone feels different about it because it is really unusual and definitely not for everyone.
I am honestly sad that this game gets so much hate on the internet and there isn't really any discussion about it on r/papermario, only memes, because according to my experience with it it definitely does not deserve that. Not the best game of all time of course, but definitely something that adds much value to the Switch library and it's easily worth its price.

I remember seeing this trailer for the first time, I was bored doing virtual schoolwork than this Notification and I got excited! Can’t believe it a year since that day. Great game!
I remember being excited when it was announced. Then getting annoyed and frustrated while playing it, Olivia, the bosses, the constant needless hand holding, the musicals.
I don't get why people like the game, but i respect the fact that you like it. I just dont know why.

@@devinadams9043 i was so excited for it..... I wish I could have loved it. I wanted to. But everything stacked up... The good moments are very, very few for me and the bad just weighs so much. I think the ice elemental was my possible final breaking point. Spent an hour trying to just get to the little attack circle.

Super was also pretty decent. Best part was still probably count Bleck. I never did beat it. It always crashed on me after the space level. So i dont know how it ends but I hear its really sad.

Can we talk about the fact that every game has someone royal or has something related with royalty as a final boss, like:
Paper Mario 64: Bowser, ur average Koopa King with the only difference being that he wields a Star Rod and only has the intentions of kidnapping peach (not really a big plan, but I could be wrong about it tho)
Paper Mario TTYD: Shadow Queen, a ancient demon who is the queen over Shadow Sirens and wants to cover the world in darkness
Super Paper Mario: Dimentio, he is the only Final Boss that is not royalty, but he is a jester and those used to entertain the king in old times (a.k.a Royalty) anyways, he wants to make a new world and he's doing that by using the Chaos Heart, later on he fused himself with Luigi and the Chaos Heart to form: Super Dimentio
Paper Mario Sticker Star: Royal Sticker Crown Bowser Bowser: Bowser but possesed by a powerful Royal Sticker, He might wants to rule over the world, but it's hard to tell as he has never spoken in that game, but I assume so, the only difference between 64 Bowser is that he wears a crown and looks more like a actual king now.
Paper Mario Color Splash: Basically Bowser but then possesed (once again) by Black paint, except this time he wants to steal all paint so he can make alot of black paint and cover the whole world in it, just like Sticker Star Bowser, the only difference is that he's covered in black paint.
Paper Mario The Origami King: King Olly (I think that is how u spell his name): Wants to turn everyone and the whole world in Origami, there is still not much information about him despite being Olivia's Brother so I'll update this when I do.

I have high hopes for this game. I love how Mario is friends with Bowser and Junior instead of the classic: “get bowser” sequence we’ve seen for years, not to mention peach is the villain (she’s probably not the main villain, just being mind controlled.) it brings a new angle I can’t wait to see.

I recently played the game Paper Mario The Origami King and it was amazing. The story, theme songs (especially Snif City, Autumn Mountain and Ice Vellumental music), gameplay, controls everything was amazing.
I would request Nintendo to kindly make such Paper Mario games like Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, Paper Mario N-64, Paper Mario The Origami King, etc so that we can have amazing experience playing such games.
This game is not what people think is really good. It is so fun to complete 100%
Don't pay attention to those who say is bat because I prefer RPG's this is a must for me . One of the best experience on the switch imo.

Just finished this game recently and it was such a good game

Really? I finished it shortly after release. I was so excited when it was announced but i felt so disappointed and frustrated and annoyed while actually playing it.
Still, i respect that you like it. But...... Might i ask why? I'm just curious as to why this game is liked at all

here's highlights of the game for me personally:
I think the story was really great, and especially the characters. I got very attached to the characters. I also like how there was many different areas with completely different feels and aesthetics to them while never seeming "out of place" to me. I also think the visuals and soundtrack of each area was really good.
Overall, I just genuinely liked the game and I'm glad you asked because it was nice to reminisce on it.
@@kaydreamsart the villains motive kinda ruined the story for me personally. It just felt so dumb and his whole plan just felt unearned. And the battle system got really annoying and frustrating after awhile. Mostly with the bosses.
Some the areas were really pretty. I liked the desert town during the night i thought that was pretty and the japanese looking area was also really pretty. I like the culture and esthetics so anything with that Japanese style is also gorgeous to me.
They bosses were kinda underwhelming. And a little boring. The ice elemental I'll always hate. Took me well over an hour to get in just one attack. That was a rough night. As for characters.... I just mostly remember getting annoyed with how stupid Olivia was.
It had some good spots in looks and the music was pretty good. But everything else kinda killed it.
Just finished TOK more than 3 years later. Can't believe it took me this long to give the game a shot. It's not perfect but it's got everything that makes a Mario RPG great: interesting characters, witty dialogue, and unexpected moments. It goes without saying that the OST is one of the best a Nintendo team has ever produced. TOK has become one of my favorite Switch games.

I just finished the game (yeah I’m late to the party) and it blew me away, the story, characters, combat and writing made me squeal. This is one of the best switch rpgs in my opinion and if you get the chance, PLAY IT

@@matheusamorim5140 i played the entire thing as well. And for me it was just a massive slog. I tried to enjoy it. But the more I played the more i hated it. I really wanted to like it, i wanted to enjoy it. But the bosses, Octavia, the elemental fights, the battle system, lack of partners, Octavia, and the villain motivation just ruined it... I only pushed to finish the game cuz i was close to the end.
it did have some good moments. Some of the music was fairly good and the desert at night was cool.
Still. I think i would have preferred to spend that 60 bucks on links awakening instead. But those just my thoughts. And I'm always curious what other people like about the game and discussing it. If i came off rude at all, i do apologize. I just have a fairly strong opinion on this game.
