4 years ago... man how time flies by so fast, I remember my dad surprising me with a switch in the trunk of his car and with mario odyssey. I completed the story after like 5-6 hours of constantly playing. What a game.
When I finished the Darker Side of the Moon and Cappy was telling me what an adventure this has been and how amazing it was, I started tearing up, because he's absolutely right. It WAS an adventure and I enjoyed every second of it. 10/10. Will play it over and over for years to come. Fingers crossed for an Odyssey 2 teaser soon!

Think it’s about time I leave a comment here. When I was 9, I remember that this game looked like the coolest thing ever. I didn’t have a switch at the time, and I didn’t want to ask for one for Christmas because they’re $300 and I knew that was a lot of money. Fast forward to Christmas of 2017, and my parents surprise me with a Nintendo Switch, Mario Kart, and a copy of this game. I was so hyped to play it, and basically spent the rest of Christmas break blitzing through it. Turns out, it was the coolest game ever. Now I’m 14 years old, coming up on 15. I’m in freshman year of high school instead of 4th grade. Now I’m into the gaming world, and I couldn’t be happier. Honestly, almost all of my friends today are because of that. And it all started with my favorite game of all time, Super Mario Odyssey.
it's amazing how mario games always deliver no matter what generation! i felt the same exact way when mario galaxy was announced in 2009 and i was just 12 years old, it looked like the coolest game ever each new entry still excites me, can't wait to see how nintendo will manage to top odyssey

I remember on Christmas, my step dad pulled one of those box in a box pranks, but finally, I got surprised with a Switch. It was actually bundled with this game. Both joy-cons are red and it came with a case. Man, what a Christmas. 2017 was really rough on me since my grandpa passed away, and I only had an NES mini. I was only 10 too. I'm 14 now, and I still have both the Switch and NES. I'll never forget that year.
I am so sorry for your loss man. I lost both my grandpas before I was born and my great grandmother died around the same age as yours so I know how you feel man.

Man I’m watching this seven years later. I’m an adult now and I was a middle schooler when this game came out. I remember growing up with the old Mario games due to my family having old consoles but when this game came out it was insane. I remember looking at the trailer (this was around the time I first started watching TH-cam) and telling my parents about it and them now believing me and the game later coming out and me playing it and them watching me like non stop for two years. Revisiting it all these years later as a soon to be college freshmen, it still holds that magic that middle school me had. That era of hype will always live rent free in my mind.
I love Super Mario Odyssey so much. I really hope we get another game like it again. I remember being super hyped about this 4 years ago lmao, how fast time passes 👀

Termi r/woosh, he means open-world aspect. The last time mario-games had an open-world aspect was in super Mario sunshine. So that was a pretty big deal for fans like me.
I hate to admit it, but I am getting some of those same feelings. I've not had a Nintendo system--besides a DS, but we'll not count that--since the N64, so I feel a bit excited.
Replaying it again after a couple of years, this game makes me so happy. Beautiful graphics, incredibly fun gameplay, and a wonderful soundtrack. Every time I play it, it puts me in such a good place. It's a type of fun that isn't seen enough in today's video games, and in 2022, i still feel the same way about this game. I really, really hope we will get a sequel soon. Absolutely phenomenal game!

I just don't want the entire game to BE primarily old content *cough3dlandand3dworldcough*. In fact, I personally want to see the Cape Feather. It's been forever since it was in a mainstream Mario platformer (emphasis on mainstream. I know about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe) and it would be a breath of fresh air to see a returning flying powerup other than the super leaf. So far, this game is looking great.

Nintendo needs strong sales to convince third party devs that porting to the Switch is worth it. More consoles sold = more people that want games. That is what killed third party interest with the Wii U, which in turn killed the Wii U.
Eight years ago. EIGHT YEARS AGO. HOW?! This is my favourite game of all time. It’s tied with Minecraft, because I love them both so much for different reasons, so I can’t really choose a favourite. I’m fairly young at only sixteen, so I was very young when I got it. It’s actually nostalgic for me. And I always feel stupid saying it’s nostalgic because it’s only three or four years old in my mind. But then I remember that it’s approaching a decade. I find it really hard to explain how much this game means to me. I got this when I was young so I was really bad, but looking back on it, I’m so glad I was bad. I took my time with it and watched all the cutscenes and everything. It took me a whole year before reaching and defeating Bowser in the Moon Kingdom. That’s why this game feels like a proper adventure to me - it actually took me a really long time in real life. Even seven/eight years later, I’m still on my first playthrough coming so close to 100%ing it. That one moon in the capless sub area behind the Odyssey in the Dark Side, the second volleyball moon, and the Darker Side multi moon are killing me. Anyway, this game always holds a very special place so close to my heart. I constantly crave the same blissful feeling I got when first playing this. And the music. THE MUSIC. ugh. It’s phenomenal. Undoubtedly the best computer game music I have ever heard in my entire life, even better than that of C418. Every time I hear Fossil Falls or Jump Up Superstar I am flooded with nostalgia. One of my ultimate goals in life is to create a game that can recreate such a care-free feeling of absolute happiness for future generations and people of all ages in the same way that Super Mario Odyssey did like no other game all those years ago for me. Thank you so much. It really feels good to finally be able to express how much this game means to me. Love you as always
Jump barrels, climb ladders at an excruciating slow speed, avoid the springs, end up realizing you wasted about 15 quarters just to beat a game... Good ol' times
I played it free any time I've wanted, but I had to beat it with one life....... TWICE, so I could get into a five rounds boxing match, and use brains instead of fists..... good times

IT'S GONNA BLAST INTO OBLIVION, THAT'S WHAT! No, seriously. This game is overrated more than the Undertale and FNAF fan bases. The execution for this game is not handled well, and I feel like it's going to be a Sonic 06 clone that was actually finished, but sucks regardless. It's too open world, and makes me think there are going to be side quests and missions like Sonic 06. When I first saw this trailer, we were all teased by a potential Sonic Adventure remake, and got something worse. It's like the trainer in Pokemon Gen 4 that you can trade a Medicham for a Haunter that has an Everstone. They try to lure you in giving you high expectations, and troll you.
This game is a masterpiece. This is one of those rare games when i actually stayed up late just to play. I wish I can play this for the first time again.

Can't believe six years passed from this trailer. When there were only handful of games to purchase on the Nintendo switch the game's trailer utterly excited me for the game's own release and for upcoming games. After playing through the whole game collecting the entire moons hidden (999 moons) I can confirm it was worth it. Every stage throughout the game included a different atmosphere, characters and mechanics which were fun to explore. Nowadays I don't play much of any video games and whenever I'm being reminded of them it feels as I forgot an enjoyable part of my childhood that can't be restored.
majority of games that come out are rushed and just obvious cash grabs. But games like Oddesey will always give me that feeling like when I played as a child. If they make a sequel to this I could be 40 years old and still get lost in the game and have an amazing time.

Steven Wood The game does look amazing, but I'm not hyped over the New Donk City PS2 graphics. Every other world Mario goes to in his No Man's Sky space ship is something I do want to see more of, especially since all of it is run in Unreal Engine.
I never had interest in the Wii U. Sure it was so fun when I go over to my friends houses and played, but I never really wanted a Wii U. But this, this is a completely different story. Words can't explain how excited I am for this console.... The whole idea of it is so great, the portability, plug and play, the variety of games, the size, EVERYTHING MAN I love about the nintendo switch. Although my past experiences with nintendo hardware such as 3DS i've gotten bored of withing a couple of years, I can tell nintendo got this one on lock! Wish me luck with my grades, and my future. I hope and wish everyone who wants a nintendo switch gets one, and these launch titles, are just the start.
With the system out of production, be on the lookout. Even with the enhanced ports to Switch, other Wii U games will remain exclusive to that system. For that reason it would be something to look into.

In fact, I personally want to see the Cape Feather. It's been forever since it was in a mainstream Mario platformer (emphasis on mainstream. I know about Mario Kart 8 Deluxe) and it would be a breath of fresh air to see a returning flying powerup other than the super leaf.

Eight years ago. EIGHT YEARS AGO. HOW?! This is my favourite game of all time. It’s tied with Minecraft, because I love them both so much for different reasons, so I can’t really choose a favourite. I’m fairly young at only sixteen, so I was very young when I got it. It’s actually nostalgic for me. And I always feel stupid saying it’s nostalgic because it’s only three or four years old in my mind. But then I remember that it’s approaching a decade. I find it really hard to explain how much this game means to me. I got this when I was young so I was really bad, but looking back on it, I’m so glad I was bad. I took my time with it and watched all the cutscenes and everything. It took me a whole year before reaching and defeating Bowser in the Moon Kingdom. That’s why this game feels like a proper adventure to me - it actually took me a really long time in real life. Even seven/eight years later, I’m still on my first playthrough coming so close to 100%ing it. That one moon in the capless sub area behind the Odyssey in the Dark Side, the second volleyball moon, and the Darker Side multi moon are killing me. Anyway, this game always holds a very special place so close to my heart. I constantly crave the same blissful feeling I got when first playing this. And the music. THE MUSIC. ugh. It’s phenomenal. Undoubtedly the best computer game music I have ever heard in my entire life, even better than that of C418. Every time I hear Fossil Falls or Jump Up Superstar I am flooded with nostalgia. One of my ultimate goals in life is to create a game that can recreate such a care-free feeling of absolute happiness for future generations and people of all ages in the same way that Super Mario Odyssey did like no other game all those years ago for me. Thank you so much. It really feels good to finally be able to express how much this game means to me. Love you as always

No, seriously. This game is overrated more than the Undertale and FNAF fan bases. The execution for this game is not handled well, and I feel like it's going to be a Sonic 06 clone that was actually finished, but sucks regardless. It's too open world, and makes me think there are going to be side quests and missions like Sonic 06. When I first saw this trailer, we were all teased by a potential Sonic Adventure remake, and got something worse. It's like the trainer in Pokemon Gen 4 that you can trade a Medicham for a Haunter that has an Everstone. They try to lure you in giving you high expectations, and troll you.

Can't believe six years passed from this trailer. When there were only handful of games to purchase on the Nintendo switch the game's trailer utterly excited me for the game's own release and for upcoming games. After playing through the whole game collecting the entire moons hidden (999 moons) I can confirm it was worth it. Every stage throughout the game included a different atmosphere, characters and mechanics which were fun to explore. Nowadays I don't play much of any video games and whenever I'm being reminded of them it feels as I forgot an enjoyable part of my childhood that can't be restored.
majority of games that come out are rushed and just obvious cash grabs. But games like Oddesey will always give me that feeling like when I played as a child. If they make a sequel to this I could be 40 years old and still get lost in the game and have an amazing time.

I never had interest in the Wii U. Sure it was so fun when I go over to my friends houses and played, but I never really wanted a Wii U. But this, this is a completely different story. Words can't explain how excited I am for this console.... The whole idea of it is so great, the portability, plug and play, the variety of games, the size, EVERYTHING MAN I love about the nintendo switch. Although my past experiences with nintendo hardware such as 3DS i've gotten bored of withing a couple of years, I can tell nintendo got this one on lock! Wish me luck with my grades, and my future. I hope and wish everyone who wants a nintendo switch gets one, and these launch titles, are just the start.

If you don't have a Wii U, you are missing out, even today it still have more high quality exclusives than the PS4.
With the system out of production, be on the lookout. Even with the enhanced ports to Switch, other Wii U games will remain exclusive to that system. For that reason it would be something to look into.
