E46 M3 Chasing 996 911 - Watkins Glen International - ARPCA - A/+ Group

Track day at Watkins Glen International with ARPCA. Spent the bulk of the final session chasing down a 996. Not the fastest of laps during the chase, but unquestionably some of the most fun I had all weekend. Camera car is a 2001 E46 M3. The car crossed 150,000 miles on the drive to the track. Car has JRZ Suspension, Essex AP Brakes and Bridgestone RE71-r tires.

If you take a wider line around the bends you can carry more speed through and you dont have to back off the gas so much

What the heck was in that 996? Seemed a bit faster than stock.

he was quick, no doubt. Was pretty stripped out if I recall. Probably didn't help that my motor was on its last legs (quite literally gave up on me after the next event). Got some new goodies along with a new S54 that should make my next trip the Glen later this year much more interesting :;)

Do you have anything done to the exhaust or Intake?

At this time of this video it was a full supersprint exhaust (headers, mid pipe, muffler) and an evolve CF air box.

yes. half bolt in cage and seats with 5pt hardnesses. Totally street car (on street tires) outside of that.
