Good thinking getting spare props, the ground around here beats 'em up. The carbon prop on mine seemed to chip fairly easily; the APCs perform as well and are tougher from what I've seen. Another thing, the skin on the foam wheels peels off on dirt surfaces, and quickly, too. Only takes a couple of flights for it to start. You can see it on a couple of our vids, things look like they have leprosy or something. Maybe some electrical tape would help, then again, the foam underneath holds up fine, so it's just cosmetic. I like the vortex generators. Mine is older and doesn't have them; what it does have is a rather nasty stall. No warning and right into a spin. It'll lose about ten feet of altitude, naturally I was five feet up when I made this discovery, LOL. But it's a tough plane; mine looks pretty hammered but flies fine. After the Buffalo and those speedy wings you'll probably think this thing is a piece of cake! Looking forward to the maiden.
Good info thanks! Yes I have heard about the nasty stall characteristics it has haha should be interesting haha. We're gonna maiden it on Thursday morning hopefully after work. Pretty excited I have always liked the Tundra. Just has a real cool look to it.
Nice video! How do you adjusted the carbon prop? Mine is very slippery when trying to adjust the prop nut. The prop hub keeps spinning and can't get it tight.
Yeah it can be a little tricky for sure. I usually just get it as tight as I can and call it good. Sometimes I can get my fingers on the motor can and hold it while I tighten the prop nut.
Is it very hard to assemble? Would a beginner be able to assemble it? And is it hard to get all set up and bound to a transmitter?thanks so much for the info! I have flown a small 750mm glider before, are there any other bush planes that would be easier to fly?
Assembly itself is fairly easy I feel. The directions aren’t the greatest but just using your brain every now and then you can usually figure out a couple “weird” spots in the directions haha. However if this is truly your first plane I wouldn’t recommend it for a couple reasons. 1, being it is a tail dragger they are harder to learn on and 2, it has flaps. Those two features really aren’t beginner friendly IMO. BUT...you absolutely could learn on this but wouldn’t be ideal as it is also pretty quick. There are much better trainer planes out there that are a TON of fun. If you have someone to “buddy box” with you on the Tundra then you could totally learn on this plane. And to answer your last question about binding it up. All radio manufacturers use a similar technique to bind up its pretty easy but like a said it’s different with each manufacturer. I use FrSky Taranis X9D+. Another thing that you should get help with is setting up all the throws on the controls and assigning a 3 position switch to the flaps and then also having someone check your setup to verify the control surfaces are moving the right direction and checking the CG. It sounds like a lot but these are are crucial to getting a plane to fly. Once you do it a couple times it’s a breeze after that!! Good luck lemme know if you have any more questions!! More than happy to answer them for you!!
So it is actually a very easy plane to fly since it is a high wing with a small amount of dihedral on the wing. It's the tail dragger aspect of it that typically is the challenging part. Takeoffs and landings can be VERY tricky if you are not fairly confident with your rudder skills. Using rudder on takeoff and landing is mandatory on a tail dragger. Don't let what I'm telling you scare you away from it. LOTS of people have learned on a Tundra, it's a phenomenal plane. If you order it make sure to order some spare props and be prepared for it to become a "beater" with the hot glue/foam tac glue repairs. Then get another one as your "nice Tundra" once you learn haha. As far as "easy" bush planes they will all have the tail dragger thing going on. But hey....if thats what you want I say go for it and tame that beast! haha. It definitely can be done as your first plane just don't get frustrated and give up! Its a fairly sporty plane (quick) so take it slow and smooth before you try to tear up the sky. Good luck man I LOVE the Tundra. Just looks damn cool also!
Haha probably just the poor lighting I had in my garage that evening haha. Outside in the sun it looks great. I agree the video makes the red look weird.

@@UngluedModeler Looks like the weather gods heard you mention a maiden and turned the wind knob up to 10. Killjoys.
hahah I know!! jeez! We were lucky and got the Maiden accomplished on Thursday morning super early. Editing it up now should be posted in a day or so!
@@UngluedModeler Nice! Can't wait to see it. I agree the Tundra has a cool look to it.
You got the best deal!! The version 2 is much improved👍😄
Great channel very underrated
Thank you very much! Means a lot to us!! 🙏
Nice video!

Why don't they use a nose cone for the prop? Looks unfinished. Nice videos! Waiting for more.
Haha yeah does look a little unfinished I agree! I suppose you could fit one on there if you really wanted. Thanks for the compliment!
Can you share the APC prop product # with everyone?
Yessir here ya go! Sorry I thought I included the link.

I also added it into the description drop down tab! Thanks for letting me know!
Thanks for replying, appreciate it. Is the tail wheel soft like the main wheels? Thanks again!
No the tail wheel is hard rubber

Unglued Modeler that’s why I love it, it looks so cool
Unglued Modeler is there any other large planes like this one you recommend for someone who has only flown a small glider?
Hinges are very weak. Thin will tear very easy.
That is an ugly red.
