For everybody who is struggling with this feature: You need to start dragging the note with the mouse first and THEN (while still dragging) hold down Ctrl+Alt (Cmd+Option on macOS).
I think this is honestly a bit clunky, I tried many times to remember but I had to watch this video to understand. You guys should definitely think about a better way to do this
Well, Lucas. I tried again. Same results: Select a (CTRL+A) . Select the BRUSH tool. When you hold down CTRL+ALT it changes to the arrow tool. Go to the highest note in your edit widow. Holding down CTL+ALT drag to the right and every chord in the edit window will skew to a strum. I was so delighted with this that I wanted to share it with everyone.
Thank you! The method described in the video didn't work on my mac until I switch to eraser tool for some reason, so if not for your comment - I wouldn't be able to find the problem.
Important note: You have to drag the note from the middle- not the edge. Otherwise you'll end up adjusting the start or end of the selected notes. Cost me a few minutes to figure this out!
I have a problem. I have Studio One 5.5.1. But when I want to do the strum action ( ctrl+alt+left click and drag) , the velocity of all notes is changed. Why ?
@@studioonetutorials On your video it seems to work great with the arrow tool (1). On my Windows machine, it seems to work with the paint tool (3). Here the arrow tool (1) combined with ctrl + alt seems to adjust velocity. Hope this helps somebody :) Thanks for your great videos, Lukas and Presonus gang for this fab new feature for creating spread chords! Also LOVE the new feature for drawing stacked vertical notes - brilliant for quickly creating progressions in Dorian or any other interesting scales. Great stuff!
@@chasingcolours6789 Yes, when you first hold Ctrl+Alt and then drag the note, you will change the velocity. Instead you need to drag the note first and then hold down Ctrl+Alt. Doesn't this work for you?

Thank you so much.
This makes me so happy! Finally my harp arpeggios will be so easy to create. No more endless zooming to finetune and correct strumming. GREAT!
Indeed great for harp glissandos or arpeggios!
love the chord progression
Thank you :)

As I said, for me, this moves the first notes of the selected chords as well.

Hello lukas, thanks for the videos. But, i got some issues here, i tried to drag first and THEN ctrl + alt, but it doesnt work, plss help me:(....
Can I turn this movement into a macro? I saw somewhere that he did this with a macro
Better instructions would be to say: START DRAGGING NOTES FIRST , then use ctrl+Alt to continue dragging. Either way, thank you for the video~!
Wow!!
Thank You
thanks! but i agree its not clear- spent 30mins editing velocity until i read the comment- click first then CTRL ALT

"Drag the note and THEN hold down Ctrl+Alt / Cmd+Option." You probably didn't do it in this order.
Nice! What kontakt library it is?
Ilya Efimov Nylon Guitar.
Shame that it screws up the notation view when you do that.
bit tricky but thank you
note to myself.... watch the video again!!
Dont work for me on 5.5 (pc)
Drag the note and THEN hold down Ctrl+Alt as I explain in the video. You probably didn't do that.
U forgot to add click 1st then command option n drag left 2 right.. it was confusing at 1st because it wasn’t working
Didn't I say "drag the highest note and THEN hold down command and option"?
@@studioonetutorials the manual explains it differently
@@sonikblaksmif I don't know what the manual states, I just tell you how the feature works the way it was developed.
