    This guy explains perfectly what you need to do. In my case, I wanted to play, Listen, and everything on my gaming PC and have my streaming PC only on when streaming so the setup was not easy. His explanations helped me understand how to do it.
    Also, I didn't needed the cables he says in the beginning, I'm using a USB mic for now with noise suppression filter on OBS.

    • @merrick20
      @merrick20 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@oki92030I'll try. I have an ElGato external USB capture card. I'm capturing my gameplay with it. This is plugged to a laptop.
      On my gaming PC I installed the Sound Capture APP from ElGato (Comes bundled with the 4K Capture app). In it, you can tell the Capture card what microphone you're using, so it captures it (I pick the same one I use for Valorant). You can also choose where the sound this app captures goes to. (Of Course the capture card).
      That's practically it.
      Sound Capture App captures my Headset and Microphone and sends it to the Capture card.
      The capture card sends it to the laptop where I use OBS to stream it :)
      Hope this helps you...

    If I have speakers plugged into my streaming PC's line out. Would it be possible to put the other 3.5 mm plug into the blue port or the pink one? At 2:12 is where I am thinking about this. I can just unplug them, that's ok too.

      @HayHayUSA 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also if I am using the elgato HD60 pro, would it screw up any of my settings? Currently my only mic is plugged into my streaming PC and so are my speakers/headphones.

    • @dweebhubtutorials4893
      @dweebhubtutorials4893  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HayHayUSA So for question 1, sadly the speakers would need to be disconnected. As the blue port is specific to the line in, green to line out, and pink is a mic input. If you have a black 3.5 port, those are meant for rear speakers in case you wanted to have a surround sound setup with your PC. But I've never tried that so no promises =)
      Regarding question 2. The Capture card still handles all of the desktop audio via the HDMI. This setup is made with the intention to have the mic on the gaming PC. With the the mic on the stream PC, you can still run your mic's audio over to the gaming PC to be used in Discord/games etc.... but that means friends or ppl in game will hear your stream alerts/any audio from the stream PC since its all condensed into one signal.
      Hope this helps!

      It should, you have to download the Elgato recording software JUST TO GET ACCESS to the Elgato Sound capture. You don't need the recording software to complete this tutorial.
      For some reason Elagto wont let you download the sound software itself.

    @dweebhubtutorials4893 is the audio shared through Wi-Fi?

    • @dweebhubtutorials4893
      @dweebhubtutorials4893  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope! All audio is transfered through the 3.5 mm cables. The elgato sound capture forces windows to route the audio.
      The only method of dual PC audio that uses ur home network are VoiceMeeters VBAN or NDI

      This is more or less pointed towards folks without any streaming mixer involved.
      Should be able to have aux cables going to and from the wave link, then use the elgato routing software to pass audio between both PCs.
      Then again. Haven't used a wave link yet.

      I don't see why not, the line out from the gaming desktop just handles your mic.

    Dont know if its worth it with this method.

    Do you absolutely need the elgato sound software for this to work? Or can it be done with just the wires, stock windows software, and obs? I dont need to hear my streaming pc. I just wanna hear my gaming pc and having my headset mic being captured to the streaming pc obs.

    • @dweebhubtutorials4893
      @dweebhubtutorials4893  ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried splitting the audio using windows, since you can select the output device for each running program. Didn't work for me.
      So the elgato software helped bypass that limitation in windows. By all means if you find another software that does the same I'd love to know!

      @@dweebhubtutorials4893 Question #1 - This is only for just getting my gaming headset microphone voice to the stream PC so that my stream can hear me and to hear my stream alerts when someone subs and using bits? Question #2 - The Elgato capture card will capture my video and my audio at the same time? I don't have to use your setup to capture my video games audio? Question #3 - on your setup guide will I lose any audio quality? For example, going from a mixer to your setup guide, will I lose the quality of the audio? Question #4 - on getting the 3.5 millimeter I'll have to buy one that shielded but is there a brand that is better than the rest of them? Vice versa if the laptop is the streaming PC, it wont be able to accept incoming audio.

      since you have the listen to this device selected for your microphone, make sure you have the line out selected as the "playback through this device".
      That way the mics audio is being played back through the aux cable instead of your headphones (which are your gaming PC's default playback device)
