I set it up the way you instructed and my game audio is still falling out of sync. I shoot in game and hear the shots later. How do you fix this delay?
brooooooooo i've been watching so many videos and forum posts and could not seem to get rid of the lag of sounds coming from the gaming pc into my headset. you had the easiest and simplest explanation and it actually worked! thank you so so much man! highly underrated video!
Thanks, I’m trying this out now. I cannot believe how easy it is to”to build” pc’s… but to correctly route, clean & config audio is a whole different animal.
thank you. thank you thank you thank you thank you. this is my first time doing this sort of setup, I couldn't for the life of me figure out why the desktop audio from my gaming PC wasn't being transferred to my laptop, and you SAVED ME!! THANK YOU!!
Is there a latency issue when listening to the game audio routed through OBS? seems like id hear the audio slightly after the fact it happened on the gaming pc.
Writing this after the second time watching this video because I needed to XD TYSM!! worked like a charm. I just use ear buds to listen to everything so all I had to do was plug them it with an aux extender. I also use a really cheap USB + mixer mic set up, and I just plugged that into my streaming pc to make it easier. You ROCK!
Danny Boy! I already dig your new platform! Love seeing a Tuber conscious enough to not tell me to sub and hit that like button! Even though I personally do not currently have a use for the info in the video, I may some day! Been thinking about getting into the Hobby of content creation myself! This may become very useful someday! Glad to be one of the 1st 100 sub's I hope to see this channel grow over time! Can't wait to see what else ya have in store!
This method actually work mostly. The only thing I had to change was audio output mode to output desktop audio(waveout) in the properties of capture card on OBS. Besides that, this works with non-El gato capture card. Thanks for this video~^^
The problem I’m having is I can’t change the “speaker” to my headset it if I change it, it goes right back to “speakers (elgato sound capture)” and I can’t change default
one small situation I've run into with this method, is that the elgato hdmi playback isn't capable of stereo sound (or at least i haven't figured it out yet)... so if you are an FPS player, the audio getting played back into your own headset through OBS will not be stereo. Meaning audio queues in game are impossible to distinguish direction since its coming through as Mono
wish I would have found this a year ago! lol working out having one streaming PC to capture several other sources (through an a/v receiver) and I THINK, this approach will work!
I've been running more or less the same audio solution you are for about a year (minus the mixer) One thing I noticed a couple nights ago, when I downloaded the El Gato Wave Link software (I currently use a wave 3), it causes a massive delay in audio from the gaming PC. Uninstalling it fixed it. I'm not sure if its all audio adjuster type software, but it's something to be aware of. Great video BTW!
The annoying part though is for when you're not streaming and keep the streaming pc off. Your audio and mic wont work if youre using discord on the game pc then
Awesome man you explained this well, I just upgraded to dual pc setup and had no clue how to do any of this but your guidance made it a breeze! Only question I have is that I play FPS games obviously and is there any issues with latency when it comes to sound? And if not what do ever why do people go with the goxlr route? And what would be the benefit to that ?
So sometimes the elgato audio will desync in obs! Just right click on its source and click properties, then click deactivate and wait about 3-4 seconds and then reactive and it will resync! I would love to do a dual pc set up with the go XLR but until I get my hands on one I don’t want to do it incorrectly but that is, so far, the ultimate and final dual pc set up but I NEED one to actually do the demo haha the benefit basically is that you would be able to plug your headphones into the gaming pc for instant source audio of the games rather than obs monitoring while still hearing notifications and other stuff from the streaming pc and it’s also your mic source with only one interface. Truly a professional piece of equipment but MAN is it pricey haha
Got an idea. Why not send webcam/discord through NDI, and do gameplay with capturecard? 😌 Gameplay and that small scene wouldnt be that heavy on the system i reckon
Hey bro question how do i get my game chat picked up in my stream so they can hear my friends as well . Right now i can hear myself on the stream jus not them
Does this method allow the stream to hear game chat and other peoples voices on stream? I am having an issue where the stream can only hear me. The sound coming for the game or anyone else’s voice does not show up on the stream. Any fixes to this issue? I did all the steps you advised in the dual setup for pc.
It does! You have to make sure discord on the streaming pc, and make sure that it is set to your headphone source, as well as windows desktop audio and obs desktop audio.
Hi, i have been trying to get it to work for over a week, no audio from the streaming pc. It basically would show the capture card but no audio comes from the pc
Make sure you havent previously muted or hidden the audio slider in OBS, there is an unhide all button hidden in the audio mixer menu and it should appear, but also make sure you are in advanced audio properties and not regular properties
Great vidoe and help. Working on trying to set up a dual PC setup with a Mac as the streaming computer having some issues with the audio though stll.. any vidoes that explain that would be great!
I watched so many videos regarding this issue and absolutely nothing will work for me, all i get is constant static on my stream pc and nothing on the game PC unless i switch the default playback to my speakers, then my gaming pc runs like normal but the only audio i ever get on my stream pc is static and i cant find a fix anyway, ive been trying for like 4 days
One thing you didn’t touch up on is what do you set for discord or Xbox companion app on your gaming PC since your usual headset is plugged into the streaming PC? Like how do you communicate with people with set up??
OK, as soon as I set my gaming PC to elgato, all of my sound went to my desktop speakers on streaming PC? My headphones have no sound, yet the headphones are set as default in streaming pc.
I did record the video and there is sound, which I never got before. A huge PLUS+++ The audio was a little android old school sounding, so I may need more audio fine tuning.
Tips for slow audio de sync from the elgato? I have the exact same set up as you but over the course of a stream I have to deactivate and deactivate eglato source to re sync game audio
I know its very old but i wanted to ask you. i hope i get an answer so i play pubg competitive. Do i get a delay since i routed the sound to my streaming pc ?
Well that was easy, I had a right spaghetti junction of audio splitters and cable here there and everywhere and I was get static like crazy 👍 you've just sorted all this for me instantly thanks a lot pal I've have you a sub 👍👍😃😃
Hi I followed every step in this video, the only problem with this is that my sound from the gaming pc to "desktop audio" in obs is crackling, do you have a fix for this, i have watched "every" video about this, but not mutch out there for "dual setup" pls help :D
i cant get my audio to go to my capture card from my gaming pc bro i its not showing up in my sound settings as an output option its showing as rear panel optical jack instead of showing as hdmi output in properties
I'm not using a mixer and audio auto goes through my capture card when in video capture device settings audio output mode is on direct sound, All audio seems to be a millisecond or less off. anything to fix this? or would I need a mixer?
How do you fix the audio input delay? As I play the game I noticed gameplay sound is a few milliseconds behind the gameplay video. it gets me killed on COD. Any fixes for that? I'm using the elgato 4k60 pro and stream labs

no lag?

Freaking beautiful! 3 years after!! Works 100!!!!
Been trying to figure this out for a minute. Thank you.
this helped me out a lot. been trying to figure this out without a mixer. great information.
Is there a latency issue when listening to the game audio routed through OBS? seems like id hear the audio slightly after the fact it happened on the gaming pc.
th-cam.com/video/p5xKDmOXWeU/w-d-xo.html
I got the same issue
Huge latency issue on the audio. And if you play games like tarkov like I do which are heavily dependent on audio you’ll be severely disappointed
I have spent nearly half a day to fix this! thanks bro it works !!
as someone who just got a beast gaming PC, i wanna start streaming and use my old pc as a streaming pc, so this helps a TON thanks bro!
make sure that your heahphones are selected in obs settings aswell, audio tab, to save you the pain
I subbed. Simple and straight to the point fixed my audio problems in 3-5 easy steps
Thanks for this video. I was getting frustrated because I couldn't find out how to put everything on my streaming pc!!! lifesaver
Literally should go to school to become a teacher because your ability to explain is insane!! Thank you so much Pixel!
YOU'RE AMAZING!! this video deserves way more views!!!!
Jeez. Thanks for that! I was basically on the verge of installing banana on both to solve the problem. Giga chad
Amazing video, getting to the party late but it helped me a ton! Ty
Great video man! As a beginner streamer and setting up the audio, this helped me out a lot.

That’s false, you might have a setting wrong somewhere. I have used this method for a couple years and it is definitely in stereo haha

Great Work!!!!!!! You are my man!
Thank you so much :)
dual pc streaming setup may be in the near future for me
Nice vid. But this wallpaper, can you link the source at 8:05?
Great...
And how exactly is My mic going to My ingame voice com?
The problem with having discord on the streaming PC is that you cannot use push to talk while you play on the gaming PC.
great info! love the lower third tho :D
i allways say, set it up like your capturing a console, and set all other stuff up on the capture rig.
Works for me. Thanks.
Thanks very helpful
Great video, ty ty
Well you totally fixed my problem. Goodbye Elgato Sound Capture!
I use Astros and I plug optical cable to game pc and the usb to streaming both audio come directly to the headset.
Ya ya audio is nice and all but where do we get that Bob-Omb?
Bro i did this method now there is a mushing sound coming out of my headphones and i can hear my self can someone help please
thanks so much👌
When doing this set up i get no audio unless the elgato 4k capture software is open is there a way to fix this?

I like the set up but the sound is low now
Hi, i have been trying to get it to work for over a week, no audio from the streaming pc. It basically would show the capture card but no audio comes from the pc
My issue I tend to have is, whenever I try to add my gameplay the second time to add the “monitoring” it won’t show the game nor the audio track! 😅
Make sure you havent previously muted or hidden the audio slider in OBS, there is an unhide all button hidden in the audio mixer menu and it should appear, but also make sure you are in advanced audio properties and not regular properties
Sooo. No one in my game on my gaming pc will be able to hear me through my mic?
Holy shit I love you!!!

this works but theres a delay as audio and video gets transfered into obs so everything is out of sync
Hello, thank you for the video. I'm just thinking will be there any audio delay when we monitor the audio from gaming pc in obs on the streaming pc?
is there anyway to do this without a cap card and with obs teleport?
@PixelPerfect Do you have time to help me with hands on for audio routing
Ok so for some reason my gaming pc doesn’t have Elgato has a audio device? Im so confused
is there a delay in your audio while gaming if you use this?
Got this all set up perfectly, but one question. On my stream I could not hear any game audio or discord chat. Only my voice is heard on stream.
