    Correction: Night view does go up to 16mp at 8:55 the camera was on the wide angle which is why it only shows 13mp. 😉

      Love it and it's price and features and second screen.
      Cons, LG needs to support these phones with continual updates to improve the camera, video and audio apps.
      LG just does not have the software chops of apple, google, or even samsung, but i think they can really keep updating their creative software, by looking at the reviews, complaints versus other flagships, and keep increasing the quality through updates, like apple, google, and samsung do.

    For a person like me, who loves to jump from one manufacturer to another, this kind of tips and tricks are really helpful. I think LG is such an underrated device this 2020, the only phone that ticked all the boxes from battery, multitasking, design and speed with an exception of higher refresh rate and better camera. The 60hrz and the not bad camera are not much of a compromised. Thanks for giving some love to our beloved underdog. Great content you got!

    Best buy is selling the unlocked lg g8x for $600. The V60 is $300 more. I don't care about 5g. Is the V60 really worth the extra $300 or is the G8X a better buy because of the price?

    It’s supersampling, not binning. The latter is only taking data from 1/4 of the photo sites which is what a lot of cameras do for 4K video. Supersampling is better. And there are a lot of features here that you’ve been able to do on LG phones for years. My 2016 V20 lets me record fully manual 4K video and switch lenses during recording. There’s also a multi view mode for capturing video with the 2 rear and selfie camera at once, for some reason you can’t do that on even the new LGs.

    • @maxxwellwalt
      @maxxwellwalt 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So with the new LG phones you can't switch lenses during recording??
      I've been enjoying that with my v20 so much..

    • @chrisogrady28
      @chrisogrady28 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Fun thing I figured out, is making stop motion movies in time lapse. Using the different rates determines how many stills per second you will use. The button to the right of the main record button is the pause. It also shows how long your real time recording is, to what the final product will be. It's fun.

    Sorry to ask yet nore questions after such an extensive video, but before I get this phone, I'd really like to know:
    1: Does Manual Mode have an option to shoot flat video? Looking to make some short films on this and I'd really love to do some extensive color grading on them when I've finished, so knowing if this phone can be adjusted to shoot flat or if it has a LOG mode would he really helpful
    2: Can it record HDR10+ on any 60fps mode? I can't find an answer to this ANYWHERE - I'm hoping it does because then my slow motion footage won't be compromised in comparison to my standard footage
    ... I hope those questions make sense, if you see them. Thank you for the great content!:)

    Hey thanks for sharing this video showing what V series camera has to offer before we buy it. Side note, how did you get Airmessage to work outside your home network and on cellular?

    • @OT4Tech
      @OT4Tech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, it's actually a little bit of a process. I have a Mac Mini server setup for the forwarding process of AirMessage. However, I also keep my main phone as an iPhone with messages in iCloud turned on to act as a secondary server to push regular text messages to my phone. I also have a secondary SIM card (Google Fi) that I use to test devices. This way I can completely leave my iPhone at the house and I will still receive all of my texts and imessages with the ability to respond to them.

      @@OT4Tech Thanks for the response Casey. I guess Apple really does "have us" with iMessage. I use both mobile platforms but iMessages is still the superior messaging service for people in the States and for individuals sending MMS messages in high quality(videos for sure). Until RCS comes out for all android platforms, guess I'll rock two phones, Kevin Gates style.

    Great video was waiting for the v70. Hope by some chance lg reconsider leaving the smart phone business. Picked up the v60 2 weeks ago and thus is super helpful. It's an awesome phone!

    I would have love to hear about the memory options of this phone. With those high quality settings knowing if I can expand the memory beyond its base is helpful. This is probably on the LG site but would be good to mention in the next video review.

    This video is making me seriously consider selling my Galaxy S10 and using the money to buy a V60. Unless Samsung rolls out a serious software update for the camera

      @@chriswright8074 I do. However there are quite a few things I love about my phone that won't be on the LG. One UI, Samsung Pay, DeX, and other Samsung-exlusive features that I use pretty much daily. But again, I need a more capable video camera system because I am attempting to start a TH-cam channel. It's a difficult decision to make

    Extremely underrated company LG . I think they are their own worst enemy by NOT promoting some of the wonderful unique features their phones have . I have used LG for the last 6 years without a glitch . The previous 6 with Samsung could not be said to be the same .Excellent informational review btw.

    This is the first time I've watched one of your video's and it was a very informative and helpful video!!
    I had a LG G3 and a LG G5 and then switched to a Pixel 3A and am in the market for a new phone.
    I was going to get another Pixel but since Google became 'big brother' and censored and took Parler off of the play store I'll be going to LG or Samsung.
    Again a great video!
    Best wishes
    Duane

    What is the symbol in the bottom left corner of the "Photo" setting that changes from a moon to a person to a 3d sphere thingy to a piece of paper? It changes when you tap it, but I'm not sure what that does.
