The LG V50 was my favorite Android phone of 2020 This year the V60 makes a few compromises, but it adds a Dual Screen case to make it one of the more interesting options in the Android space this year Should you buy it?

Why Is No One Buying This Phone?
Easy answer, because it's barely available anywhere. LG sucks so bad at marketing and distribution. And that's a shame because they offer really cool alternative products, especially for audiophiles.

I'm still watching this on my old V20 😃 that phone set the bar so high, that i'm in struggle to find a replacement. As far as V-series LGs go, the v20 was the best one in my opinion. Yes, its 2020, hardware is clearly outdated, but its still isnt slow after all these years, display is over 500ppi, its very sharp, cameras are still not bad, laser focus + ois, comparative with midrange stuff in 2020, i'm still ok with it, headphone jack, expendable memory, quad-DAC, AND the most important thing, it has a replaceable battery, and its a game changer.. I can still use this phone as a daily because of this. I got a 10500mah (a huuuge one) battery in it, with a thicker case, and its super, 2-3 days of very heavy usage... And after 4 years of heavy use, it is still flawless. I really dont think that later "V" series phones are comparable, this is extremely well thought out, and is still exceptional in pretty much every department. I'd rather get it again if it were available new. V30-40-50-60 couldnt hold a candle to the V20. That is an exceptional "feature package", and i wish they stick to the good ideas. The only reason that is my last "V" phone, is because all of them seem like a downgrade in some department, flexibility, practicality, or simply just features what the V20 made a must to have

Same! I'm still using the V20 hard everyday and the only issue is having to buy a $30 battery every year or so. It's time for me to upgrade, so the first thing I looked at was the V60. I like it, but man, I've been more and more disappointed with LG since they started removing buttons after the G4. That was always my favorite part about their phones. I can at least unlock my G7 with the fingerprint reader on the back, but now you can't even do that with the V60. That fact alone is going to lead me to consider other phone brands for the first time in a decade.

Agree 100%! For me it has the complete specs for me: 3.5 jack, dual screen as option, big battery, expandable storage, dual sim, and good price. It will be my next phone this year. Only thing i am not a fan with is the in display fingerprint, rather have it somewhere else. No face recognition is not a big deal for me though.

At that price and with 5G becoming prevalent and useful, I can finally justify upgrading from my V40, which by the way, is one of the greatest phones of all time. They have similar specs, but the V60 being recent has updated hardware. Now based on youtube "schooling" :) their use is basically the same, but what could help you decide better is: G8 has face unlock and is more pocket friendly for smaller size.
My V60 needs a huge pocket on me all the time or it will be huge brick in my hand. It is that huge size, reflected on the screens that I love for my daily needs though.

@@nancyvernon3017 LOL! How many times I find myself lost on that "ocean of uncertainties"!!
The Velvet is a V60 stripped out of the fabulous audio hardware that every "audiofan" seems to to praise. I still have to buy some good wired headphones to appreciate that, despite always consider myself an audiofreak, but been busy simply enjoying the dual screen goodiness. It's almost like being in trance!! :)
The dualscreen case on the velvet is different than the V60's (well, its overall looks is). Some people prefer it to not being a fingerprint magnet. I prefer the V60's mirrorlike front glass. I can completely ignore any fingerprint while looking at my reflection. No, I'm not a vain person, but do like to see if I'm at my best before every business meeting and none of the 2 major screens has the polarized mirror effect the front screen has.
Did I just add fuel to your fire? LOL
Anyway, performancewise all squeeze more than we need on daily basis. You'll go happy with either. Budget vs size might be your equation.
Velvet is taller and slimmer than the G8X.
By the way I was about to buy the G8, but the store didn't have it and got the V60 which I didn't even know existed. Till today would be happy with either, but when I buy good headphones will be glad I was struck by pure luck. Without question the V60 is the best value for money flagship you can buy in 2020 and that's not forgetting that the $699 OP8 exists. It's good that the V60 is more readily available through carriers than last years V50 which was exclusive to Verizon and Sprint so hopefully the V60 will get more attention. For me personally, I have a love=hate relationship with massive phones like the V60. While I love them when at home lounging at the end of the day, during the day and on the go I use my phone one-handed most of the time and get way more use from that one hand experience than I ever would with a phone of this size (for me this comes from experience, I own another phone as large if not larger than the V60 and tried using that day to day) but I know there are those that love the larger size.

LG V60 still has Knock unlock?
For me is the second best after fingerprint.

I loved my LG V30 dearly, but the long wait for android pie kinda soured my feelings with LG. I love the V series but I've switched to OnePlus until LG improves their update rollouts. Awesome video!

I have the LG v60 and the note 10 plus and I got to say I like the LG v60 better its a no-nonsense phone with a flatscreen it just works good with a big battery software is boring but I just put Nova launcher on it makes the whole phone a lot better. And T-Mobile has it for 699 right now

I got a V60 demo and managed to remove the Retail Mode app. But still only charges to 50. Any idea what's the password? For retail mode on V60.

The LG V60 is in Canada finally. Definitely picking it up once my contract is up. I'm super excited for it

LG really is one of the most underrated companies out there.
What hurt them the most was the g4/v10 bootloop fiasco. They played it off for so long and denied replacements.
Their phones have been pretty solid ever since though. They tend to always try new things on their devices too instead of just making me-too phones.
Their biggest flaw is selling them high price and then dropping them in half a few months later. They need to just lower the prices period and I would have no doubt they would become an actual competitor in the market.

I've had an LGV30 for 3 years. I can't see myself getting any other phone. The headphone jack makes a huge difference.
