Here we walk through booting DIY eGPU Setup 1.3x, hotplugging the eGPU to the Dell Vostro 3550, setting the eGPU port to Gen2 speed, performing a 36-bit PCI compaction matching his DSDT override to overcome error 12, and Chainloading to the Windows bootloader from which Windows 8.1 is loaded.

I have just purchased the software and my eGPU works perfectly O.O
I spent days to set up DSDT override and "large memory" appeared in devide manager but the card still got error 12. Now, all works fine. Thank you very much nando. I don't understand how you acquired the knowledge to write this software and get it working...

Did you have to use Nandos setup 1.35 with Samsung motherboard?
What are the commands to start samsung with gtxxx"? My gtx 1060 on samsung laptop with i7 and dedicated radeon hd 8800 was undetectable. Now i managed to find it in device manager, but inly when I change it "hot" in sleep mode with wifi card. Generally still no luck, because the port disapears Everytime i restart windows. There's is also error 12 on the GTX egpu even with installed driver.
@@dawidskrzypczak7735 I m sorry to hear that bro but now I have proper PC and use of nandos setup is somewhat faded but with what I can recall there was a utility to edit bios and then I made pcie slot hot swappable and for error 12 You need to install an older driver first then update it. It won't work with new drivers. Try to find oldest driver your graphics card support install those drivers first but before that you need to uninstall current graphics drivers with ddu. Hope it helps. Also you need to disable your dedicated graphics card with nandos utility.

I'd like to buy your tool (I visited your EBay page), but the only thing keeping me from doing so is because I have searched on the Internet and asked away about whether it's possible to make an external GPU work with my very very *very* old Intel Core 2 Duo T7250. It's an Acer laptop with an ExpressCard. I mean, I know I can run it and all but what's bothering me is the need for an external monitor (Because an Intel CPU this old does not have an iGPU, so it isn't possible to "switch" between an iGPU and an eGPU.
So the questions is, can your tool make it possible that I switch from my Intel GMA X3100 to an NVidia during boot process and still use the internal display?
Also, are there any methods available nowadays to make this work with linux Mint 18?

Thank you for the kind words. To answer your query, the X3100 iGPU never supported NVidia Optimus. Good news is with a DVI/HDMI dummy adapter and management software you can start and use eGPU accelerated *Windowed* apps on your internal LCD. On my toshiba laptop, the laptop cannot run the display on the internal monitor, the internal is completely dead which works only the display that I connect the hdmi cable between the vga card and the external monitor
Can I use this in order to fix BSOD? I read somewhere else in forum thread, Some mentioned that, they switch the PCI to gen 1, because gen 2 is too fast causing the BSOD or game crash.
If the bsod is caused by an unreliable gen2 link then yes, downgrading the link to gen1 will be the fix.

Nice. Did you notice any webcam problems after using the eGPU in this system? I completed an eGPU setup some weeks before my webcam died. As I'm not the only one to notice that it would be nice if you can keep an eye open to the issue.

@wtf bro? bro wtf? My Acer Aspire 5750g does not boot with a black screen. What kind of GPU are you trying to use with your laptop? Some GPUs require custom drivers to function like the GTX 1050 /TI, this GPU did indeed blacken my screen without the unmodified drivers.

Will this software work with the Lenovo x230i. I'm a bit sceptical spending $15 on software that won't work. Im using the v8 Beast and everything powers on when i turn my laptop on however nothing shows up in device manager and my bios is up to date :(

An error that is sometimes caused by running at Gen2 link speed. This software can downgrade the link to a more reliable Gen1 link speed to solve that situation.

It is a EXP GDC Beast. We found it to only reliably work at downgraded Gen2->Gen1 PCIe speed on this Vostro 3550. To gain Gen2 reliability it wa suggested to either try insulating the HDMI interconnect cable with aluminium cooking foil or obtain a eGPU adapter with a soldered cable like BPlus PE4C 3.0 or PE4L 2.1b.
i have a lenovo x230 tablet lets suppose i am forced do downgrade to gen1 would i still be able to play battlefield 3 with maximum graphics??? or would the graphics card loose so much bandwith as to become useless???

T410 is a 1st gen i-core CPU capable only of Gen1 speed on the expresscard slot.

Hi, is there a possibility for some Laptops to switch from x1 to x2 with egpu setup?
Yes, up to 1st-gen i-core can have ports 1,3,5,7 switched into x2 mode. 2nd-gen and thereafter is BIOS locked. Lack of x2-capable eGPU hardware and requirement for x2 to have adjacent ports wired [p1+2], [p3+4], [p5+6], [p7+8] makes it mostly impractical.

Dual boot Win 7 & Win 10 (very open to anything else)
EXP GDC (Expresscard) with salvaged Palit GT 620
At present I can either use the on-board GT 230M at full speed or the external GT 620 at 1.1 x1 speed. Render test or any 3D applications don't increase the link speed.
Also cannot use both devices at same time.
Worse is each time windows disables the GT 230 and overwrites the Nvidia driver to the corresponding one for the GT 620 and when I unplug that one and need the laptop on the go windows has to reinstall older drivers for the GT 230 again, back and forth.
So my question is: will this software allow me to tweak the BIOS to allow windows to use both devices simultaneously?
If not will I at least have a solution where I can use the laptop normally and plug to the EXP GDC whenever needed without driver installation hassle all the time?
Sorry. Not useful for your Nvidia dGPU + Nvidia eGPU driver issue.

@@slam_down , 1st gen i-core runs a Gen1 EC slot. Can't make run any faster. Need a system upgrade to go faster. Eg: 2nd to 5th gen i-core gets Gen2 PCIe. 6th-gen and newer has Gen3 M.2 slots.

Need to boot up via Setup 1.35 for it to make changes needed to configure your eGPU,
so is a one time setup, maybe until i format my machine again right, dnt want to be booting everytime i turn on my laptop
