  • A ride was organized to raise money for the service dog, but the $4,000 raised may be only a fourth of what's needed.

Welcome to the real world there is discrimination in Service Dog Facilities if you are a civilian, especially if you are a single woman, or parent with a disabled child. While Veterans, 1st Responders, and Physically handicapped get to jump the line over you. Expect to pay over a hundred dollars just to get a video call, and hundreds more just for a Service Dog Facility to even look at the diagnosis, and then override, intimidate and interrogate you with their own "perceived specialist" that believes disabled women need a caretaker, or the child's family is told or the single woman to abandon her pets to a shelter if she wants a Service Dog from a facility that's unfortunately out of state as the majority of states only cater to Physically Handicap and Veterans or 1st Responders for getting them a Service Dog and kick civilians with same or worse PTSD or Medical Condition to the curb. Went through that for 3 years not taken seriously and prejudiced against, so I went and found an Organization that helps one get the right breed or rescue through the right breeder or shelter program that will be based on the program's specialists help you rescue adopt or get through a breeder a puppy or dog that has the qualifications through the rigorous inspection of the dog would be a candidate. I have to pay thousands to go through an academy recommended because the trainers there work with people who want their dog to become a Service dog or ESA Task Trained, you have to complete asked on a certain time frame if it's a puppy or dog. I reviewed no help financially from government nor after reaching out to my local news. It was humiliating and degrading what I went through trying to get my situation and raise awareness for women like me being taken advantage of by not one but multiple Service Dog Facilities and after taking my money, they drag their feet, make excuses and then ghost you. I don't know what I'd not done if my friends and family weren't there as a safety net and help me raise the funds through donations by friemds and family or selling things to make the $$$$$$ necessary to get a dog trained privately to become my Service Dog it's exhausting and stressful enough. So good for them asking and this news station stepping up, many out there who desperately need a Service Dog are turned away from a News Station if you didn't serve or was not physically handicaped in MI. So many people have no other choice but to plea and beg it's degrading our system towards none Veterans and none Physically Handicap who actually need a Service Dog and our society, mass media turn back on them because they don't meet the bias agenda of who and who they deem is qualified to need a Service Dog.

Its better to say nothing if you don't have something kind to say. Its a child with health issues, that has nothing to do with your personal situation.

It takes hours to train a dog it’s not an easy thing so not everyone can do it

Also if your husband is a dog trainer then he has had experience training dogs so it’s easier for him. I just became a trainer but I still remember my first dog and her training and it took hours to train her now I am training my second and he is definitely easier but if I hadn’t trained multiple dogs and different behaviors in dogs before he would have been incredibly difficult to handle and he wouldn’t be as good of a dog as he is today. He’s only 10 months but I am hoping to train to do deep pressure therapy for anxiety but it’s taken 8 months almost 24/7 training at 3 am sometimes to get to where he’s now almost perfect in public and he can go get things when I ask
