- HOW TO SET VALVE LASH 12 valve Cummins,
well boys and girls this is how we set the valve lash on your 12v and 24 cummins . for the lash setting i recommend just to do .010 intake / .020 exhaust
PLEASE NOTE ---- ON THE VP44 ENGINE THERE IS A LINE ON THE GEAR TO TELL YOU TDC

This is the next thing on the 12 valve to do list and probably the best video I’ve found on it and I’m a firm believer that if you can follow instructions you can do anything even rocket science 😂 appreciate ya Rob
thanks brother
Will be doing this job on my 97 dodge and checking my new Recon 12v before installation. I appreciate the tutorial bud! Awesome work as always. 👍🏼
awesome explanation of order of adjustment!
Good job Rob!
The VP44, there's actually a line on the gear that lines up with the cover marker.....at that location, the woodruff key is at the 6:00 position...so to remove the pump ,you want the key at 12:00 so the key doesn't fall out..which is actually not exactly tdc #1 compression....I believe...but anyway.. 👍👍
You could be right. Been a while since I did one.
@@CUTTERUPROB👍👍yeah,it don't matter man I just had one apart recently to replace the gear case gasket and swapped in that Hamilton cam and all...😆,so it's still a little fresh ..but anyway 👍👍
I added the info to the description
Evening feller 👍🍺👊
Good explanation, have you ever ran into a problem, where one or two of the pushrods are extended up higher than the rest? I’m rebuilding my 12 valve and I ran into this problem and no one can answer it, I’m wondering if you can. Thanks in advance
Like the push rods are longer than the others ? If that’s the case I would say the couple of them are the wrong style
So my 97 12v has 92k on it...should it be done soon? And its not been done ever and when should it be done
Not a bad idea to check
@@CUTTERUPROB alright I will do that the next day im off work...and how often then should I check it? Every 50k or so?

what did you use for paint?
It’s wurth brand enamel
What about setting valve lash on a brand new fresh common rail short block? Say you install head and loose cylinder 1 TDC before setting valve lash??
If it’s fresh engine you will have to loosen the rockers most the time. But same as I do it on a 12v
Doesn’t the crank turn clock wise
When running yes. But doing this it doesn’t matter the direction you turn it. I have tried it both ways to see if it made a difference.
Hola no tienen trduccion en español
You don’t explain how do you know when the first cylinder is at top dead center you can put it on top dead center but it could be on any cylinder top dead center should’ve explained that as well
the first minute half thats what i am talking about
