I had no idea this would be considered trauma, I have always looked like a dingbat

Prior to learning about OTRS I thought I was clumsy and forgetful - even though I hadn't always been this way. Turns out it's a common theme for NT partners.

@myntndmarriage I don't doubt any of it. It was explained when I told a psychiatrist to please just test me for alzheimers and he said you exhibit signs of ptsd this is one of the symptoms. Cassandra syndrome seems to go hand in hand. The forgetful part.

@@MonaSimply Amazing isn't it how the mind reacts to trauma. Another common theme I'm hearing is NT partners wanting tests for Alzheimer or dementia! Incredible.

@myntndmarriage I think it's all interconnected somehow. Do you notice your mind roaming when you drop a glass? I get shocked into reality when it shatters, but just before that I'm not focusing on what I'm doing. I'm not sure if this is the case every time but significant enough for me to notice. Disassociating type thing I'm guessing. I've lost entire days doing this especially if I'm super stressed.

When I'm required to answer a question I have to come back to reality long enough to answer the question and then go back to..... ruminating..... not sure how to describe it but I'm really not recognizing what's going on around me unless I'm shocked back into reality. You're comment "walking on eggshells" could be a symptom if you're thinking about it 8:40 all day.
