These look great - can't wait to try them! Hey, don't forget, whenever you're done making the recipe, the moment everyone's waiting for is to see you grab one of those beauties, snap it apart to show the crispness, and taste it! Oh, yeah!
Golly! Y'all going to make me eat on camera? It's a terrible sight to see, but I might have to start doing it because I keep getting so many requests for that . Don't say I didn't warn you! 🤣
I’m so bummed I don’t have any nutritional yeast, because I want to make these right now…yes, for breakfast! 🤷🏻♀️ 😀 I can’t even count how many bags of Cheetos I’ve been thru in my life-it’s kinda embarrassing- 🤪 and it’s great to be able to have a better/healthier version of something I love! Thanks, Victor!
I hope you like them! You can add cheddar cheese powder instead of the nutritional yeast also. I just thought the nutritional yeast added a little different cheese flavor. It's hard to get the real Cheetos flavor down because of all the chemicals and artificial flavors they use in it, but this is the closest I've gotten yet.. working on some different versions as well including the crunchy
I have been a cheeto addict since I was a teen it's all I ate for lunch every day and as a adult I was never without my cheetos. I could never have a bag in my house today because I know I would have no discipline 😢. I love the standard American diet but hate what it did to my health, being a Carnivore is so boring but the benefits👍
Absolutely! That's why I have been working on one. Wasn't real happy with most of the ones I tried. I think the nutritional yeast is a game changer in this, but it would make it not carnivore technically..
I found this recipe a few months ago and decided to try it with cheese powder I had on hand, but the whites went completely flat. It was a soup. Now I have a Ninja so I'll do it the right way and see how it goes. It helps seeing your techniques.
You could use the cheese powder instead of nutritional yeast. It should work just fine. If you have any trouble with my recipe, let me know. I have tested this thing so many times, I know just about all the issues you could possibly get and how to fix them 😁
Sure! You could pipe them out even smaller or even spread them out and cut them to size after the initial 20 minutes and then pop them back in the oven and they won't be as puffy. After they are cool, you could microwave them to make them crunchier too.
Love your personality! Also, I wanted to let you know that there are dehydrated cheese powders available on Amazon, which may make this process even easier!
Thank you so much! Hopefully I can continue doing so! I've had a lot of kitchen disasters lately where stuff didn't come out like I wanted, but I keep going until I figure it out. I appreciate you watching and glad you enjoy the recipes! 😁
Thank you! I love growing some inside. I didn't do them last winter, but I always have some growing inside and outside when I can. Got some really pretty purple basil outside this year too..
Loved the “dusted for crime scene” comment. I use lots of egg yokes and occasionally have to toss out the multiple jars of suspicious looking egg whites. This is the first egg white recipe I’ve seen that’s worth hauling out the stand mixer. Please hurry up with part 2…egg whites are ready and so is the kid in me. Thank you!
😂 I wish a company would come out with a carton of just the yolks. Why do the egg whites get to have all the fun? Definitely working on it! The texture is messing with me a little bit trying to get the other ones right. Hope you enjoy this one!
I’m not sure if Cabot still makes cheddar cheese powder or not but before I got myself a freeze dryer to freeze dry my own cheese I would buy it from Cabot. It was really clean Ingredients and Publix would order it for me. Now that I have a freeze dryer I just freeze dry cheese slices or cubes and those are my new Cheetos lol. I love your recipe so everyone can make them even without cheese powder :)
🤣 oh yeah! I'm working on a version that's more like the old school crunchy Cheetos and I was going to try some different flavors. Just don't have it down good enough yet
Thanks for making these and citing your source! But watch out with fortified nutritional yeast since folks with the MTHFR gene polymorphism cannot use the synthetic B vitamins. They will not be metabolized such that they will be harbored in increasing toxicity or as a carcinogen. Most folks don't even know they have it unless they end up with a double whammy (like me) but not good. Nonfortified nutritional yeast does exist but is not usually found in grocery stores. I know you want to make stuff that is good for people! I'll be making some of this snack after I order the nonfortified stuff as I am interested in it as a cheesy flavoring.
