    Watching this makes me feel like I’m failing my child. I’ve taught her a lot but I started getting lost in what to teach her. I’ll try some of these games with her. Thank you for sharing.

      aw this breaks my heart seeing this comment, the fact that you’re even watching this video shows you’re absolutely not failing your child. you love and care about your child and that’s soo much more than what a lot of parents do for their kids. i hope you’re doing better now ❤️

    Hii my baby is 10 months old, but whenever i play with him with toys , he usually puts everything in his mouth , happy to see your baby playing with you

      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Not to worry! There are many healthy reasons why your 10 month old is putting everything in their mouth. This is known as mouthing objects. Some reasons could be they are teething, it can be soothing to their gums, or simply exploring the feel, shape and hardness of an object with the sensory receptors in our mouths. He will move past this on his own when the urge has gone. For now keep talking to him everyday about what you are doing and play games that he is interested in.
      Thank you for watching, I loved playing these games with her. 💗

    • @mindfulmummasnetwork6025
      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@amyrodriguez8746 Don't worry if your child is taking a little longer, it's perfectly healthy for babies to wait until 16-17months. Some ways you can support your bubba is hold her hands and walk her around, take her to different locations so she is enticed to explore, if your in lockdown - different rooms in your house works well too and outside in the yard, put favourite toys where your bub cruises the furniture so again she's enticed to get it, while she's cruising give her a toy in each hand so she has to balance and lots of practice. Your job is just to provide the opportunity and the motivation in her environment, and she will get it when she's ready. Good luck! Let me know how you go.

    • @mindfulmummasnetwork6025
      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yes very true. The trick with multiple kids is more group activities so they all feel included and engaged in an activity at the same time. Also try tasking your older ones with entertaining your lil ones with these activities. TH-cam Jordan Page, she has 8 kids (twin babies) and The hidden gem, she has 4 under 4 (triplet 5 mth old). They have great time saving ideas. In 2 weeks, I will be posting how to cook a weeks dinners plus breaky for my toddler in 2hrs so hopefully that helps to free up some time too. Good luck and remember this too shall pass.

    • @mindfulmummasnetwork6025
      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      All babies develop at different rates and they have different interests. It's helps if you look at activities the other way around. Look at what your lil one interested in or trying to develop and then find an activity that supports them. For example if she is using her pointer finger then introduce activity that, like the coloured water drops on the tray. Or if you want to teach your child something new, you can show her how to do the activity and at the beginning they will probably just laugh at you, but know that their lil brain is learning and processing what you are doing, even if on the outside it looks like nothing is happening. Our job is only to provide opportunity and motivation and they will develop when they are ready. Good luck mumma 😊

    • @mindfulmummasnetwork6025
      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025  4 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Thanks😊 It sounds like your lil one is into early childhood destruction play. Which can sometimes feel like a tornado has ripped through your house. Choose activities that interest him and follow the early childhood play schemas he wants to develop and explore. I remember when Aurora wanted to just empty out draws, cupboards and shelves so I set up her own draw (with random safe household objects inc spatulas, ice cube tray, tea towels etc) and I swapped out cups self with the containers instead. She had a blast exploring that and I felt comfortable letting her explore. If I didn't have the patience for cleaning up after her, I'd just take her out. Whether in the backyard, to the beach or for a walk, the new stimuli will satisfy their natural urge.

      Early Childhood schema theory has helped me alot with picking the right activities to cater to my child's natural urges. That way I'm not trying to make her do anything, but rather I am providing her with the opportunity. I observe her behaviour and pick activities that facilitate that behaviour. Good luck. Hope this helps.

How can i teach him putting things in bucket, he doesn’t seem interested. Moreover he hasn’t started pointing his index finger though his pincer grip is fine.

    • @mindfulmummasnetwork6025
      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      All children have different interests and develop at different rates. Throwing is also a developmental milestone and part of the trajectory schema. Some things they learn through throwing is distance, gravity and weight. Try giving him different objects of different weights, sizes and shapes to throw ie. Feathers, bean bags, balls, pom poms, balloons etc. Enjoy!

    • @Pointlesspeach
      @Pointlesspeach 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Look up schemas. It means sometimes babies are just interesting in specific things so just follow the baby and let them do what they are interested in. Some babies are just obsessed with movement, but in a couple of weeks they might be more interested in something else.
      Also the Happy as a Mother podcast on Spotify has an episode called the power of sensory play and begins by explaining that there are 3 additional senses. One is proprioception which is like your body’s relation to space, and if a baby enjoys sensing the world through that, they will enjoy things like climbing or riding on a toy or in a basket etc.

      Sounds like he is more interested in exploring the trajectory schema at the moment. These are activities that test gravity and movement. If you google trajectory schema you should find some ideas. Ie. Throwing different objects of different weights. Diferent size balls into baskets or boxes, pom poms, feathers, bean bags etc. Also climbing and jumping are part of this schema so maybe investing in a trampoline and/or climbing frame. Enjoy!

Once he's satisfied, he will start getting the interested in how things work. So keep up the awesome work, presenting and modelling those opportunities, every few days, and when he's ready to learn that skill, he will. Also if you look up community services in your area, they often have services that can support, if your struggling financially. Best wishes on this special time x

      Thank you. I just went with her natural urges. Look up early childhood schema theory. So if your child is exploring trajectoey schema at that time ie. Throwing, jumping, move etc. Activities that test gravity and movement would be more engaging. Or when they are banging observe if they are banging for noise (substitute with drums, pot and pans etc) or for destruction play - to see what happens (part of connecting schema - substitute with foam blocks to knock down see link or other activities that involve breaking but soon will involve connecting). My 11 mth old still liked these activities. Good Luck! th-cam.com/video/E7W5aCaoxd0/w-d-xo.html

      Thank you. Mouthing objects is very normal at this age. They have sensory receptors in their mouth that helps them to identify whether an object is hard or soft, solid or liquid, what it tastes like and even what shape it is. When my little one tried to eat something that is not safe, like crayons, I gently tap the paper and said "crayons are for writing on the paper". They mostly say oh, and then write on the paper and then 1min later try to eat it again. Just gently repeat. If they write on the paper great, just keep reminding for as long as you have patience. If you find you are running out of patience, then to respectfully pack up, I say in a gentle voice "writing on the paper or pack away crayon". If they want to keep writing they'll stop, if they are done then you want you to pack up straight away. If they get upset, just gently remind them "did you eat the crayon, yeah, so mummy has packed it away". And then redirect to another activity "Let's go read a book instead or let's do some running, ready go".
      Hope this helps 😊💗

For example help him stand and then enthusiastically count how long he can stand before sitting back down. Remember to encourage him by giving him genuine praise and cheer him on with his little achievements. Good luck!

    My little one turned 11mo a week ago and there’s no sign or interest whatsoever in putting things in container or even sit there and play with me... all he wants is to be held and walk around in the house. Should I be concerned if he doesn’t like to / can’t understand the concept of putting things in a container at this age? 😭

    • @mindfulmummasnetwork6025
      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like all developmental milestones different babies hit these at different times. So I wouldn't worry just yet. There may be other reasons for him wanting to be held, for example: short naps, teething, leaps, or he might just want his mumma or explore different environments. Like all phases, this too shall pass.

      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Kiara, if you are concerned about your babies weight gain, it is best for you to see you Dr. All babies follow their own growth curve and they will be able to track if your baby is gaining weight based on their own developmental needs. As for good tasting food, I offer a variety of different fruits, vegetables, legumes, grains and protein, and I prepare them in different ways. For example: my daughter didn't like broccoli steam but she liked it in stir fry with garlic or she didn't like carrot but she liked it in Dahl.

      I totally understand this can be a frustrating time for parents as you want to teach them valuable skills and knowledge for their future and it seems like they don't. Trust that throwing is part of their development also. Try some activities that include both what they are interested in and what you are interested in, ie. Throwing different coloured balls across the yard while saying the colour. Or sticking coloured paper on a few baskets or boxes and getting your little one to throw the matching colour balls, beans bags, feathers into the boxes. The biting is a whole other story and I have a Taming Toddler Tantrums workshop that can help with that. Email me your expression of interest and I will send you further information. Good luck x 😊

      All babies develop at varying rates. If your baby is not at this stage yet then thats okay. If you keep talking to your baby everyday, telling them what you are doing and naming objects around them, they will soon start picking up language. Our babies are capable of so much more than we think. From 9months old they can start understanding words and phrases when said at the same time and in the same context. This is why it is soooo important to talk to your babies all day, every day. And around 11 months they can also start understanding simple instructions like 'pop it in'. Good luck with your lil one 😊

      All babies develop at varying different rates and all skills take practice. When you introduce these activities to your bub doing worry about the end result. Show him how to do it first and just play, laugh and enjoy your little one. When he's ready he will just do it, so easily and you'll think, what was I even worried about. 😊 P.s. I've just started introducing these to my 10mth old and he's just amazed when the ball disappears. He laughs and I have so much fun doing this. I just love their face when the ball disappears. Enjoy this special time with your lil one 😊

      Is your child standing and pulling themselves up or walking while holding your hands. If not, I would encourage you to see your Doctor to ensure that it is not a medical issue. If they are, some ways to support your child with taking the next step, is to give them plenty of time on the floor, move toys a little out of reach so they have to move to get it, holding hands and walking in many different environments, when they are standing call them towards you. Hope this helps. Let me know how you go.
