Tantrum Solutions | Free Workshop Preview on Managing Kids' Challenging Behaviours
Ever been in a position where you know how it's going to turn out and the outcome is not going to be good.
This instance could have easily had a different story, with the parent saying to be careful with the eggs and lunging towards the child, with the child throwing the egg carton across the floor, with the parent yelling at the child, the child bursting into tears crying and feeling bad about themselves and the parent feeling guilty and not knowing where it went wrong!
This video shows you a different way to approach this situation that will have you left with a positive outcome.
Registration is now open for my upcoming online workshop on June 19th, 2024.

How to Use Natural Consequences Instead of Punishments for Kids' Behaviour (Part 2)
มุมมอง 230ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, we discuss the difference between consequences and punishments when it comes to disciplining children. While both may seem like ways to correct behaviour, consequences are natural results of actions while punishments are imposed pain from parents or caregivers. We explore examples of both consequences and punishments and the outcome of these two approaches. At the end of the vide...

    Hii my baby is 10 months old, but whenever i play with him with toys , he usually puts everything in his mouth , happy to see your baby playing with you

    • @mindfulmummasnetwork6025
      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not to worry! There are many healthy reasons why your 10 month old is putting everything in their mouth. This is known as mouthing objects. Some reasons could be they are teething, it can be soothing to their gums, or simply exploring the feel, shape and hardness of an object with the sensory receptors in our mouths. He will move past this on his own when the urge has gone. For now keep talking to him everyday about what you are doing and play games that he is interested in. Thank you for watching, I loved playing these games with her. 💗

    • @mindfulmummasnetwork6025
      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025 ปีที่แล้ว

      Playing with the book is really great, it's the first step. If you can get touch and feel books they can explore these different textures with their hands and mouth. Keep reading, using big expressions, pointing to the book and naming objects. Developing focus and attention takes time. At the beginning it could only be 1 minute and that is okay, keep up the great work. Also try these activities that are great for sensory play, and safe for baby to put in their mouth. th-cam.com/video/WlJn_D0hrh0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=YPNRZDrLihZOzOPJ

    This is the type of information that should be taught to all parents - cannot be emphasized enough. Unfortunately we’re a society where many people are reared by emotionally immature and ill equipped parents leading to poor coping and communication skills and even mental health and personality disorders. Education is key, thank you for this information.

    • @mindfulmummasnetwork6025
      @mindfulmummasnetwork6025 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Mouthing objects is very normal at this age. They have sensory receptors in their mouth that helps them to identify whether an object is hard or soft, solid or liquid, what it tastes like and even what shape it is. When my little one tried to eat something that is not safe, like crayons, I gently tap the paper and said "crayons are for writing on the paper". They mostly say oh, and then write on the paper and then 1min later try to eat it again. Just gently repeat. If they write on the paper great, just keep reminding for as long as you have patience. If you find you are running out of patience, then to respectfully pack up, I say in a gentle voice "writing on the paper or pack away crayon". If they want to keep writing they'll stop, if they are done then you want you to pack up straight away. If they get upset, just gently remind them "did you eat the crayon, yeah, so mummy has packed it away". And then redirect to another activity "Let's go read a book instead or let's do some running, ready go". Hope this helps 😊💗
