@@DangeloRichardson-l8b If you look at most of human history, tyrants are overthrown pretty often, but they are almost always replaced by someone just as bad. Look at Roman or Chinese history and you'll understand.
First time listening: it's about son dethroning his father After listening for the 100x times: no matter who is the king if he is not the right person for the reign the subjects will suffer the most Crown makes an individual king in documents But only his subjects can keep his Kingdom's legacy alive Historical facts are the witness
There was a king Living carefree He wanted the world he wanted everything He ruled with a fist His people were starved 0:22 He watched as they begged behind his castle guards Diamonds and pearls Emeralds and gold He bathed in the riches only he could know But with time came age His health in decline The fate of his legacy left to the tides So he ran to his queen and demanded a child Planted his seed then he cast her aside Several moons later she bore him a son But died just to give him his own flesh and blood Ooh Ooh The son grew like weeds He soon was eighteen He ventured outside of the castle to see The faces so gaunt The dead in the streets They cried out for help but nobody could hear Deep down inside him something had stirred He laughed at the ruins his father incurred Fire in his veins he stormed back to the throne Stared down the king with a rage still unknown Ooh The father decreed The new rule of law His son to be banished outside of the walls But the son had a plan And his heart was convinced There'd never be room for both king and a prince He rallied the people and charged through the gates Shield in one hand but the other a blade With one fell swoop his own father deposed He sat on the throne and adorned his new crown Ooh The son was elated The kingdom was his Diamonds and emeralds and gold-plated bliss But what of the people The legends don't say Just like a memory They faded away There was a king Living carefree He wanted the world he wanted everything
"but what of the people the legends don't say just like a memory they faded away" so trueee, throughout our history the generals, commanders, leaders, etc. were the usually the only ones who get recognized as named "heroes" or "brave warriors" but the people, the soldiers, the scholars, the guards who helped and fought alongside them have less recognition and information about them. They were forgotten and will forever become just "nameless heroes"
Many people assume the son became a tyrant himself, but I disagree. The song says that the legend doesnt say what happened to the people after the revolution of the king, but i dont think they continued suffering. At the end of the song, the first 2 phrases of the song show up, i believe for a different reason. The son (now king) lived carefree because his tyrant father was no longer hurting the people, the people were being properly taken care of by the king, he wants the world because the world would benefit everyone, he wanted everything, everything that had come to be. I believe that this song ends on a good note, not a bad one...
yet the beginning of the song says the exact same lyrics? 'there once was a king living carefree he wanted the world he wanted everything' and the same lyric repeats in the end lyrics. the whole point of this song in my personal view is that history repeats itself. it always has. and that the son becomes exactly what his father wanted him to be. the people faded like a memory says the lyrics of the song. meaning the kingdom faded away like they were fading before. but this time the son had no wife so he died alone and sad like the rest of his people and the kingdom came to an end. the son became his father. i do believe thats the point of the song.
This kind of reminds me of the quote: “History doesn’t repeat, but it often rhymes.” Anyways, love your music and voice! This album has been great, and I can’t wait to hear more from you in the future. ❤️ (:

I heard this song for the very first time in my life today and I realized that if you play the song in a loop it's just like the same thing keeps happening over and over again and things will never change in that kingdom. How sad. I know it may be obvious but it just stood out to me
Reminds me of what I learned in school about the French revolutions(merica): the people fighting for the people would become tyrants and get beheaded. I'm happy the French got out of that slump.
this song is a beautiful lesson in how power can corrupt even the purest of hearts. the Prince began Young, innocent, Pure and spotless, dreaming that one day he might free his People from his Father's tyranny. but in the end, when his Father died, the crown remained on his head, and the power in his hands, he corrupted himself, as the story itself says, in the prince's government nothing changed, and they just forgot what happened in the past, starting a New Cicle. the Prince in the end became what he most Disliked: His Own Father.
this song is so good! this song also reminds me of a fanfic i read about a reincarnated person that became the king's son and lead the rebellious to the victory , he became the new king and years later died because the world is against him

I'm always so interested in what inspires you to make these songs, the way you notice tiny details and learn lessons from them. This is only the tip of the iceberg on why your one of my biggest idols
Greetings from the barren tundra, it's your resident ice wolf Kiba Snowpaw here, and I must howl my melancholic analysis into the cyber-wilderness. Tonight, I shed tears that turn to ice crystals in the chill, over the heart-wrenching lament that is "The King" by Rosendale. 👑🐺❄ "There was a king, Living carefree, He wanted the world he wanted everything…" This sets the stage, much like the opening cutscene of an RPG, introducing us to an antagonist who, much like Sephiroth from Final Fantasy, is driven by insatiable greed. #SephirothSyndrome "He ruled with a fist, His people were starved, He watched as they begged behind his castle guards…" Like the residents of Raccoon City in Resident Evil, the oppressed citizens suffer under a tyranny that watches, unmoved, as they suffer. A poignant parallel to the apathetic leaders we see both in-game and in life. #RaccoonCityRuthlessness "Diamonds and pearls, Emeralds and gold, He bathed in the riches only he could know…" The glistening allure of a loot chest, dazzling yet untouchable. It's the bitter reality of the loot boxes that dangle tantalizing rewards in front of players, promising riches and empowerment, but ultimately serve the developers and their relentless pursuit of wealth. #LootBoxBetrayal "So he ran to his queen and demanded a child, Planted his seed then he cast her aside..." Just as in Berserk's Griffith, the king selfishly uses others for his own purposes, leaving behind a trail of broken lives. #GriffithGrief "The son grew like weeds, He soon was eighteen, He ventured outside of the castle to see…" The son steps out of his protected bubble, mirroring the moment in Fallout when we step out of Vault 101 and see the harsh reality of the Wasteland. #FalloutFacingFacts "But the son had a plan, And his heart was convinced, There’d never be room for both king and a prince…" A sentiment that echoes the clash between the player character and Alduin in Skyrim, a necessary battle for control and freedom. #SkyrimStruggles "He rallied the people and charged through the gates, Shield in one hand but the other a blade…" A triumphant moment, akin to leading a successful rebellion in the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but with the bitter aftertaste of patricide. #WitcherWoes "But what of the people, The legends don’t say, Just like a memory, They faded away…" A somber note to end on, reminding us that in the grand tales and epic narratives, the common folk are often overlooked. Just like the villagers in Minecraft, their stories are untold and their suffering is forgotten. #MinecraftMisery Rosendale's "The King" is a somber ballad that peels back the layers of power and exposes the rot within. Just as in our beloved games, the narrative leaves us questioning the nature of power, the ethics of leadership, and the cost of ambition. So as the last notes of this lament echo into the ether, remember: in the chill of an ice wolf's den or the heat of a virtual battlefield, we are all part of this grand narrative. 🐺👑💔#IceWolfWisdom

I first saw your song "six pills" in my recommended, was reluctant to listen to it because the title sounded like just another generic edgy song. But the algorithm persisted and I caved. I haven't regretted it since. You're an incredible artist and I'm so happy I discovered your songs. The way you spin tales into melodies is truly enchanting. ❤
Geez certainly you have lovely and deep lyrics in your songs! I found myself quite enchanted with this one in particular. Also, it kept me wondering how could have ended differently at some point in the future, so I came up with this: …So he ran to his queen and demanded a child Planted his seed then he cast her aside Several moons later she bore him a son But died just to give him to some woodsman unknown. The son grew like weeds He soon was eighteen He ventured outside of the forest to see The faces so gaunt The dead in the streets They cried out for help but nobody could hear Deep down inside him something had stirred He wailed at the ruins that tyrant incurred Fire in his veins he stormed back to his home To plan how this reign could be finally undone. His father revealed That this tale was quite old For always the princes got blind seeing gold. But the lad had a plan And his heart was convinced: A doom for the line of the king without prince! He rallied the people and charged through the gates Shield in one hand but the other a blade With one fell swoop his begetter deposed He sat on the throne where the truth was exposed. The lad was elated The kingdom was his To enjoyed all their treasure in shared endless bliss In name of his people he kept humble ways just like his old man until the end of the days. There was a king Living carefree He cared for his world, he did have everything...

I'm very surprised that he did the same thing as his father, I was expecting a happy ending hahaha, but as they say, not all stories have a happy ending.
Okay I was looking for something that will boost me the energy for reading the cruel princ by Holly Black. And thanks to you. I now have motivation to start reading again.

This song really sounds like a fairytale you would read from a book.
Yes Is amazing the song
this literally sounds like a son about BBC Merlin
Agree
Yeah, and it has the dark ending like most fairytales
That last 4 lines revealing it is more or less a loop or a repeating tragedy .
Gave me literal chills
I got this after reading ur comment. Basically be became his own father
I actually love the ending, because it sounds like even after the prince takes the throne, he’s just like his father and the story retells.

The endless cycle of Tyrants. Humanity really likes repeating itself, and this tells that story in such a fairytale way. Awesome!
Why exactly explain to me
I agree with you in history we're always repeat yourself in this era

Yeah like Caesar he was killed by his own son if I heard that right
The moral of the story " Humans are greedy, Can change when needy, Allies can turn to enemies and greed is the source of all problems "
Kings and queens turn to tyrants two in history we're always repeats itself

Planted his seed then he cast her aside
Several moons later she bore him a son
But died just to give him his own flesh and blood
Ooh
Ooh
The son grew like weeds
He soon was eighteen
He ventured outside of the castle to see
The faces so gaunt
The dead in the streets
They cried out for help but nobody could hear
Deep down inside him something had stirred
He laughed at the ruins his father incurred
Fire in his veins he stormed back to the throne
Stared down the king with a rage still unknown
Ooh
The father decreed
The new rule of law
His son to be banished outside of the walls
But the son had a plan
And his heart was convinced
There'd never be room for both king and a prince
He rallied the people and charged through the gates
Shield in one hand but the other a blade
With one fell swoop his own father deposed
He sat on the throne and adorned his new crown
Ooh
The son was elated
The kingdom was his
Diamonds and emeralds and gold-plated bliss
But what of the people
The legends don't say
Just like a memory

I first saw your song "six pills" in my recommended, was reluctant to listen to it because the title sounded like just another generic edgy song. But the algorithm persisted and I caved. I haven't regretted it since. You're an incredible artist and I'm so happy I discovered your songs. The way you spin tales into melodies is truly enchanting. ❤
Thank you so much for giving my music a chance 😭❤️ Really appreciate your support! You’re awesome!
At the end....history repeated itself.....
Geez certainly you have lovely and deep lyrics in your songs! I found myself quite enchanted with this one in particular.
Also, it kept me wondering how could have ended differently at some point in the future, so I came up with this:
…So he ran to his queen and demanded a child
Planted his seed then he cast her aside
Several moons later she bore him a son
But died just to give him to some woodsman unknown.
The son grew like weeds
He soon was eighteen
He ventured outside of the forest to see
The faces so gaunt
The dead in the streets
They cried out for help but nobody could hear
Deep down inside him something had stirred
He wailed at the ruins that tyrant incurred
Fire in his veins he stormed back to his home
To plan how this reign could be finally undone.
His father revealed
That this tale was quite old
For always the princes got blind seeing gold.
But the lad had a plan
And his heart was convinced:
A doom for the line of the king without prince!
He rallied the people and charged through the gates
Shield in one hand but the other a blade
With one fell swoop his begetter deposed
He sat on the throne where the truth was exposed.
The lad was elated
The kingdom was his
To enjoyed all their treasure in shared endless bliss
In name of his people
he kept humble ways
just like his old man
until the end of the days.
There was a king
Living carefree
He cared for his world, he did have everything...
I AM SO TIRED OF HOLDING THE RAGING ANGER BACK. I DON'T GET IT! WHY YOU DON'T HAVE A MILLION SUBS? YOU DESERVE SO MUCH! I LISTEN TO YOUR SONGS DAILY, THEY HELP ME ESCAPE MY PAIN.
This song is like telling me this story of this forgotten fantasy world somewhere out there and it’s just giving me such… such dreamy vibes ngl. A world that just disappeared into history ❤️
Its currently one am and suddenly i had an uncontrollable desire to listen to this cuz when i was trying to sleep it kinda came to my mind but absolutely couldn't remember any lyrics, now i gotta hear this😂
I absolutely love the stories your songs tell! It lets me take a break from reality...
This is such an amazing song, it really put a pictures in your head, like someone is reading a fairy tale story well you go to bed
Creí que el príncipe cambiaría y no... Me encantó la canción ❤️
I'm very surprised that he did the same thing as his father, I was expecting a happy ending hahaha, but as they say, not all stories have a happy ending.
Hermosa la voz, la música y la letra, muy bonito todo, un increíble trabajo👏🏻❤️ congratulations on your art!
Well the prince became the father, the king he despises
The blood of evil do runs in the same vein
i don't know what to say, there's no words can describe how good is this song. i like the story telling.
This is a masterpiece. I can see this being part of a fantasy/royal themed movie.
this is a masterpiece I really fall for her keep going
I like your song!
I found her in an Spanish translation, your voice very comfortable and pleasant~

Man ... What a song!!🤍🤍🇧🇷🇧🇷
Love your soothing voice!
This song goes perfect for my story that I'm writing
I made a new playlist in my library just for ur songs.
Ur songs really calm me down after a long day of work.
I’m really happy to hear that 🥹🌹 Thank you for listening!
I really love this song!! ❤
Love it when songs have stories in them, incredible!
Even though it could be a fairytale; it's such a haunting song.
What a wonderful story! You don't find ballads like this everyday.
Okay I was looking for something that will boost me the energy for reading the cruel princ by Holly Black. And thanks to you. I now have motivation to start reading again.
This song sounds like music that you can fall asleep with👍
Why so underrated, like i walked through the story of an unknown kingdom, far away from our reality.
Brooo the amount of content you’ve been putting out is crazy!💙
